Chapter 57
They followed Randy back to his truck and waited while he produced a hundred-foot tape and a notebook. That accomplished, they followed his instructions and held the end of the tape in various spots while he took his measurements. Measurements taken, they returned to the gazebo and watched as Randy produced a tiny calculator and began using it. Eventually, he flipped to a clean page in his notebook and wrote a number on it.
“I can give you a driveway like I did for George and Mike, and an electric gate with a keypad for this amount.”
He showed them the number he’d written. “That sounds good,” Chris said.
“I agree,” Mickey said. “How do we handle this?”
“So much now, and additional payments during the various stages of construction—it’ll all be spelled out in the contract. I’ll send you e-mails with photos attached as we go along.”
“Let’s do it,” Chris said.
Randy returned to his truck to retrieve a contract form. “Should we have gotten another quote?” Mickey said.
