“Getting back to fun. I think we ought to start having a regular—for want of a better term—date night. One night a week set aside for the two of us to go somewhere and do something, even if it’s only a little shopping trip like this.”
“Babe, considering how much money we just spent, this has hardly been a little shopping trip.”
“That may be, but we’ll still be wearing those suits ten years from now, won’t we?”
“That’s true, and I don’t disagree with the idea,” Mickey said. “We do tend to get into the habit of always eating at the same restaurants and going to the same places. Maybe it’s time to expand our horizons just a bit.”
“It just hit me.”
“What?”
“Talking about a date night makes us sound like suburban parents.”
“We don’t live in the suburbs, but we are parents, that’s for sure.”
“Yeah, and I kind of like it.”
“Me, too,” Mickey said. “Did I tell you that Ted and I had another bonding moment while you were in the hospital?”
