13 The War

Chapter 13

…

The next day, Rikuto woke up bright and early, after a quick shower he headed outside the hotel, by this time it was 9:30 A.M. so he decided to head to the Mizukage tower. When he arrived he found his teammates-or rather his new subordinates smiling at him.

"Rikuto-sama!"

"It's been too long Rikuto-sama."

The Uzumaki returned the smile before turning his attention to Chojuro. "So…you have a mission for us don't you?"

The Mizukage nods. "I want you to help with the evacuation effort. It would be a tragedy if war broke out here and innocent bystanders died."

"Yea it would, Mizukage-sama…"

"You can speak your mind." Chojuro said. "I know there's something on your mind."

"About Baachan…"

Chojuro nods. "I figured it would be about that. She has to be somewhere in Kiri. Reports say she was drugged and kidnapped but unfortunately I don't know anything other than that. I don't even know which one of my men did this…"

"The traitor huh…" Yosuke muttered. "If nobody had saw it we would've never knew about the traitor…."

"It happened at a bar right?" Eiji asked

Yosuke nods. "Terumi-sama was drinking with one of her friends. She had to of been drugged because otherwise they would've never been able to take her."

"She was drugged." Chojuro said. "The people at the bar said they saw her fall over. It made no sense. She wasn't drinking heavily. Apparently after she collapsed her friend was knocked out by a cloaked figure and she was taken."

"How do you know it was a traitor?" Ruka asked curiously

"Apparently the cloak had our symbol on it. The Kirigakure symbol." Chojuro said

Rikuto took in all the information and frowned. He knew war was inevitable. Kiri and Kumo had been at each other's throats for years. It was only a matter of time before war broke out.

"We have to get her back…."

Chojuro nods. "We will, but for now evacuating the civilians takes precedence."

Rikuto nods. "We'll get on it sir."

"I have a few more squads on this. You won't have to evacuate the entire village all by yourselves."

Rikuto looked at his subordinates. "Let's go."

"Hai!"

"Yes Rikuto-sama!"

….

As Rikuto and the others got to work he saw other teams evacuating the citizens of Kiri to who knows where. He was curious where these civilians would go because most of them were probably born and raised in Kiri but he just continued doing his job along with his comrades.

"Rikuto!"

The son of Uzumaki Naruto, hearing a familiar voice turned around. He smiled. "Temari-Shishou!"

The blonde haired Sand user chuckled. "It's been awhile hasn't it? I hope you've put my training to good use."

"Of course. Shishou your helping us?"

"In the evacuation of Kiri's citizen's yes, in the war no." Temari said

"I see." Rikuto looked at her and the team of Konoha Shinobi.

For the next couple days Rikuto and his fellow comrades evacuated the Civilians. He also found out that Konoha was gonna house Kiri's citizens at least until it was safe for them to return. Yesterday Temari had left with her team as the evacuating was mostly done.

"Alright." Rikuto said. "We should report back to Mizukage-sama."

Ruka and the others nodded before heading towards the Mizukage tower.

"That's good." Chojuro leaned back in his chair. "It'll only get more difficult from now on."

Rikuto frowned. They didn't even know where to go from here in regards to his grandmother anyway. The traitor was somewhere in Kiri. He/she probably had a hideout somewhere they were keeping the former Mizukage if she wasn't dead yet. He doubted she was dead. She was kidnapped for a reason. The traitor needed her for a reason.

"Don't trust anyone guys." Chojuro said. "The traitor could be Anyone." He knew nobody here was the traitor as they were all training together minus Rikuto when Mei was being abducted.

"Yeah." Rikuto said. "That's a given. "

"I'm still investigating this." Said Chojuro. "When I find something out you'll be the first to know, Rikuto-Kun."

The raven nods.

"Now-"

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Everyone widened their eyes as there was explosions followed by the sound of screaming. All of the shinobi present looked at each other before nodding. Chojuro opened the window and they all leapt out.

What they saw shouldn't of surprised them. They knew this would eventually happen.

Kumogakure Shinobi were attacking Kirigakure Shinobi as the sound of Kunai clashing against Kunai was heard.

"Hm. I don't see Darui-san anywhere. He must be awaiting the right moment to strike." Spoke Chojuro with narrowed eyes. "Be careful you guys. Don't let your guard down."

"Hai!"

Rikuto retrieved a Kunai from his hip before bringing it up to defend himself as a KUMO Shinobi ran at him. He kicked him away and threw it at him.

"Ha! Your gonna have to do better than-"

The Shinobi widened his eyes as the Kunai multiplied to a dozen Kunai, he wasn't expecting the Shadow clone Kunai variant so of course he met his end as Kunai implanted itself in multiple parts all over his body. Rikuto glanced at his subordinates as Shinobi surrounded them.

Rikuto widened his eyes as a Kunai with an explosion tag soared through the air heading directly at him. He cursed before jumping away from the Kunai, although he got away safely he was separated from the others

"Stay alive!" Rikuto exclaimed as he ran further away allowing his enemies to give chase after him.

"Rikuto-sama!"

….

Rikuto eyed his enemies who grinned having sadistic expressions on their faces before running at him. Rikuto mirrored their actions as once he was upon his enemies he began to land multiple hits across their bodies while making sure to dodge all of their attacks. Swinging his leg he sent one of them into one of their comrades before going through hand seals.

"Ice release: Infinite Spears!"

Suddenly Ice spears began to rain down piercing their bodies with multiple ice spears, as the spears entered they're bodies blood began to ooze out creating a puddle. He glared at the corpses of Kumo shinobi before turning his back and began to dash into the distance to where his comrades where fighting.

With Eiji

Eiji went through hand seals as more Kumo shinobi charged in. "Water Release: Water Dragon Jutsu!"

Screams were heard as the water dragon crashed into them instantly killing them; by this point more Kumo shinobi had piled in it. Eiji wasn't counting but there were at least 800 Present.

"You think your so great?! Damn Kiri shinobi!"

Eiji watched as Kunai were flung at him, instinctively he swatted them aside with his own Kunai.

"Step aside guys." Spoke a man with greying brown hair, dark skin and deep blue eyes. "Numbers alone won't be enough for this guy."

Indeed, already sixty or so Kumo shinobi had met they're end.

"Hai!"

"Be careful Takuya-Senpai!"

The older man grinned. "Do you not know who I am? Focus on the battle before you. He isn't the only Kiri Shinobi you have to worry about."

It was true because all around them Kiri and Kumo were battling it out. The sound of Metal clashing against metal was heard as Eiji stared at Takuya

'Why does he look familiar? Have I seen him somewhere? This guy is a cut above from all the others I've faced. I can feel it. His chakra is massive. But….I can't afford to lose here." Eiji got into a defensive stance

Takuya lost his grin as both of them ran at one other and began to throw punches, most of them were either blocked or evaded but some did connect.

Eiji growled as he was punched in the jaw before increasing the speed of his punches which caused Takuya to evade his attacks at an even greater speed displaying that he was quite the experienced fighter.

'This guy….he's good.' Thought Eiji

With Ruka

The female Chunin grunted as she received a blow to the shoulder. She glared at her enemy before punching the Kumo shinobi across the face sending him flying back a few feet away. The enemy stood up slowly, holding his face before glaring at her.

"You bitch!" The Shinobi exclaimed before going through hand seals. At the same time Ruka went through hand seals of her own.

"Water Release; Water Dragon Jutsu!"

"Lightning Release: Lightning Dragon Jutsu!"

Back with Eiji

Eiji could be seen breathing heavily with bruises all over his body while Takuya had minor scratches. The old man was quite the adversary as it would turn out.

"If your that tired out from just a taijutsu bout I won't need to go all out."

Eiji glared at him. "If you think that's all I've got your sadly mistaken!"

Takuya paid close attention to Eiji as a shroud of water formed around his body. The old man chuckled.

Eiji remained silent before vanishing in a burst of speed, Takuya seemed to expect this as he blocked and even countered his attack sending him flying. Eiji charged at him as he recovered, once he got closer tendrils of water came to life as they tried pierced him.

"You'll never win against me fool." Takuya said as he continued to evade the fast tendril strikes.

"Damn you! Stay still!"

Takuya jumped backed as five tendrils tried piercing him all at once. The old man grinned. "And you know why?"

Eiji frowned before his eyes widened as Lightning came to life all over Takuya's body and a lightning cloak formed around him and his hair spiked up.

"That's…! I knew you looked familiar!"

Takuya chuckled. "That's right you fool. You couldn't of chosen a worse opponent. I'm the man trained personally by A-Sensei. The previous Raikage."

"You..!"

Suddenly Takuya appeared behind him and sent his hand flying towards his chest, a moment later a squelching noise was heard

'Ruka….I…I'm sorry…'
