1 The Past

Chapter 1

Naruto widened his eyes as he stared at a letter he had received from the former Mizukage, Mei Terumi.

"This can't be…."

"What's wrong Naruto?"

The blonde looked up from his desk and at Shikamaru as he motioned for him to come over, The Nara did as he was told and glanced at the letter.

Shikamaru gasped. "You never told anyone you were-"

"I know. It isn't something I like to talk about. Not even Hinata knows."

"Does anyone else know?"

"Just Sasuke and Kakashi." Replied Naruto. "This is all my fault."

"No it isn't. You couldn't of known."

Naruto frowned and remained silent. His mind flashed back to the past.

Naruto had a huge smile on his face as he ran from tree to tree. After awhile he spotted who he was looking for which caused his smile to widen as he jumped down landing beside a cute girl with black hair and brown eyes.

"Naru-kun." The girl smiled as she wrapped her arms around the blonde.

"Hey Haku-Chan." Naruto said softly. The Uzumaki wasn't stupid he knew that eventually he would have to end things with Haku but to him she meant the world to him. Naruto grew up without a family and barely had any friends so when he and Haku began to see each other it made him really happy. She made him feel so loved and wanted. He felt like Haku was his place to belong.

"I was thinking we could spend the rest of the day together….if that's alright with you?" Asked the ravenette

Naruto smiled, pulling away from the hug he pressed his lips against hers. Haku blushed, returning the kiss she wrapped her arms around him. After about ten minutes they talked about lunch which made Naruto smile stating that he was pretty hungry after training all day. They spent the rest of the day together, hunting for food walking and just enjoying each others company.

"Kakashi-sensei." Stated Naruto and he saw the sharingan user with his arms crossed looking at him as he entered Tazuna's place.

"You were out with your lady friend huh?" Kakashi asked with a knowing look on his face.

Naruto scratched the side of his head. "What can I say, I really like her."

"You know you'll either have to end things with her or take her with us, that is if she doesn't have a life of her own here."

"Yeah." Naruto sighed. "I know."

"I'm not gonna stop you from having a relationship with this girl Naruto, you deserve to be happy but your gonna have to make a choice kiddo." Kakashi said. "To leave her or have her come with us."

Naruto frowned. He didn't like it but it was the truth. He walked past Kakashi and went right off to bed.

Zabuza had wide eyes as he watched Haku rub her stomach. "Haku you fool! Your certain? Your-"

"Yes, I'm pregnant Zabuza-Sama." Said Haku

"You realize that's dangerous for a ninja right? Especially for us, if you decide to have that kid we'll have someone to look after, to protect. Our enemies could use that against us."

Haku closed her eyes. "I know."

"Does that boy really mean that much to you that you'd risk your safety for this child of yours?"

Haku only smiled in response.

"Very Well." Said Zabuza. "But if that's the case you have to promise me something."

"Of course."

"We are Ninja not only that but rogue ninja, allow me to find someone who can look after the kid in the event that we both die." Said Zabuza

Haku opened her mouth slightly, it wasn't surprising he came up with an idea like this, it was just she hoped something like that never came to pass.

She didn't want her child to grow up without a mother or her grandfather. Zabuza may put on a tough act but deep down she knew he loved her like a man would their own daughter and of course she loved him right back. He had been there for her when nobody else had after all.

"I already have somebody in mind." Said Zabuza

Haku rose a brow. "Oh yeah? Whose that?" She asked

"You know of the resistance I was apart of in Kiri right?"

Haku nods. "You were forced to flee after attempting a coup right?"

"That's right, anyway the leader of the resistance Terumi Mei owes me a few favors I'll send her a message Via messenger bird." Said the rogue ninja

"Thank you Zabuza-sama."

The demon of the mist revealed a rare smile before walking off to get the message ready. Haku sat down and took a few moments to think. Naruto didn't know she was Zabuza's ally let alone pregnant and Zabuza also wasn't aware she was dating the enemy

Haku figured the only way for her and Naruto to have a future together was to somehow convince Naruto to join her and Zabuza. That would be tough, Naruto was a really loyal person he would never betray his friends. It was messed up she even wanted to ask that. He shouldn't have to betray his friends.

She sighed. The ice user could only hope everything worked out in the end.

The Next Morning- Tazuna's house

"Hey baka where do you go everyday?" Asked Sakura. "You usually come back at dawn. For the most part you do but at times you'll come home late."

"You've been more bubbly than usual as well." Added Sasuke

Naruto laughed. "I'm just focusing on Training! Gotta show Zabuza and that masked bastard whose boss!"

Kakashi sighed. "So loud Naruto. It's too early for this, pipe down."

Naruto scratched his head and laughed.

For the next few weeks Team 7 focused on their training in order to get ready for Zabuza's inevitable attack. Sasuke and Sakura knew there was something up with Naruto and confronted him multiple times about it but he would just brush them off telling them nothing was wrong and that he was ok. Eventually the promised day came and Zabuza and his ally finally showed themselves on the bridge.
