Uzumaki Boruto

(19 years after 4th Great Shinobi War)

"It has been almost twenty years since the last war. Since the establishment of ninja villages, the longest era of peace has sustained the ninja world.

This, obviously means that the need for ninjas has been on rapid decline. We have dismantled the Genin Corps, moved up the graduation age to 15, and the Genins of today are very different from the Genins before the war.

But! It doesn't mean that the spirit of ninjas have dwindled! To be a Ninja, is to endure.

Well, I don't want to bore you guys with more of my speech, so I will just say, "Congratulations on graduation, Dattebayo!"

Uzumaki Naruto, the Seventh Hokage.

A man who once dreamed of attaining the position, worked extremely hard, and obtained the title of the' Strongest Hokage', a person who played the most important role in saving the world.

But, this isn't a story of an ambitious kid who wants to follow into the footsteps of his father and grandfather to become the Hokage.

This is my story. But, even if I like it or not, Dad is one of the main characters of my story.

And it begins..., when I was a rebellious brat because Dad paid too much attention on me.

"Brooding again?"

I tactically decided to ignore Sarada, seeing no benefit in listening to her rants about her Dad. Again.

"Boruto-kun, wouldn't it be great if we became teammates!?"

Annoyed by all the attention, I just ignored all of these people.

I can live alone. In peace.

"Alright class! On your seats! Your teams have been decided. And they can't be changed. So don't complain, okay?"

"""Yes Ishida-sensei!"""

Knowing Dad, he will probably place me in a team with Sarada. He thinks that we are rivals. Though, I wonder who will be the third member, and our Jonin-sensei.

"Team 1: Aburame Shina, Wasabi Izuno and Taketori Houki under Hyuga Hanabi."

"Team 2: Nara Shikadai, Yamanaka Inojin and Akimichi Chocho under Sarutobi Mirai."

"Team 3: Kakei Sumire, Kaminarimon Denki and Inuzuka Hina under Tenten."

"And Team 7: Uzumaki Boruto, Uchiha Sarada and Mitsuki under Sarutobi Konohamaru."

Mitsuki?

"Who is Mitsuki?"

Everyone asked, and then suddenly, I heard a new voice beside me.

"That's-"

As our kunais clashed, I saw a weird guy, who was smiling at me creepily.

"-me. Hello Boruto, I am Mitsuki. I am an exchange student from the Sound Village.

It's nice to meet you."

Well, I certainly don't feel nice about meeting him.

He doesn't even have any smell. What the heck was Dad thinking!?"

"Umm, Mitsuki. I am Uchiha Sarada. Welcome to the team."

"Thanks."

After thanking Sarada, he stared at me with expectation.

"Boruto! That's no way to treat your teammate! Lower your kunai!"

Sarada shouted at me, and I lowered the kunai.

"Now, introduce yourself to him!"

"He already knows me."

"Yes, Sarada-san. I know about Boruto quite well."

Those snake eyes and creepily fake smile sent shivers down my spine.

Thankfully, Ishida-sensei interrupted us.

"Alright class! Now that you know your teams, wait for your Jonin-senseis to come! Use the lunch break right now to bond with your teammates!"

Team bonding? Yeah. I totally want to spend time with this obviously creepy guy and the annoying Sarada. As if she doesn't force her way to constantly challenge me.

As soon as the bell rang, I jumped out of the window to get a burger.

While I don't have a grandiose goal like Sarada to become the Hokage, being able to explore the world in silence, alone, will be much satisfying.

Yeah. Like the cool and mysterious uncle Sasuke.
