Death Valley

Blood was everywhere the soil was broken by numerous disturbances, as the Ants tore off the limb and shattered their way into the body of the boar. They had eaten the boar in a matter of minutes. That was still alive, by the way! Not even the bones were left. Yes, not even the bones were left! Set saw the ants break the bones as if they were twigs. A tree with an Ant skewered all over it a short distance away, it was truly, a gruesome sight. Even though he was scared by the display of power without the Unholy Armor and his precious blood points, he was confident he wouldn't end up in a sorry state like the boar.

Sorry... Sorry, a sorry state was too much of an understatement. What I was wanted to say was, unlike the boar, he wouldn't end up dead. After they had eaten their fill, the Ants turned around and began to move in the same direction. Set looked at this and a crazed grin appeared on his face before he began to pursue them. But it wasn't long before the Ants had found another victim.

In the trees above was a spider coated in blood-red fur. Its black eyes glared at the Ants below as if warning them not to mess with it. But the Ants were as ignorant as they were mighty. One by one, they climbed up the tree, wanting to eat the spider whole. When they reached the branches, with a loud shriek, the spider shot out webs. The webs were stuck together when sticking to the branches, forming a web wall that the Ants could not move through. But what happened next was very difficult to digest, both for the spider and the Ants. When met with the web, they quickly chewed through it as if what they had eaten was not steel like webs, but fragile and weak strings easily cut by a scissor. The spider who saw this was instantly alarmed. It fired webs like a madman as it retreated to the top of the tree. But the Ants didn't mind that. Instead, they were glad to be offered something to eat.

After a round of web-shooting and web-eating, the spider eventually reached the height of the tree. Having reached a dead-end, it was even more frantic to escape the Ants. It shrieked loudly, brandishing its maws. Ready to go all out, but it was outnumbered, and the damage it could do was minimal if it didn't use poison. But even if it used poison, the poison had to go through the tough exoskeleton of the Ants. The spider seeing the Ants close the gap inch by inch, screeched loudly and crawled to the very top of the tree, attaching its web firmly onto the peak. Then with a disdainful look, it jumped!

The spider's actions had left Set's jaw hanging! Since when did spiders behave like humans? If the spider had just jumped, Set would have been amazed but not shocked to this degree, but it just had to throw that last, disdainful look.

"Why is this spider so intelligent?" Set asked, but he had already thought of the answer. Which was further proven true when the system replied.

[The most probable causes are that it has eaten some type of natural herb, capable of increasing its intelligence and strength...or its a beast man]

Although it wasn't for sure, it was the most probable cause. After the spider jumped, the Ants let out muffled noises before returning to the ground. But the spider had landed a little faster than the Ants, and immediately decided that the Ants were not worth its time and planned to run away. However, it ants had underestimated the Ants. Just as it thought of leaving, the Ants simultaneously screeched.

Hearing the noise, the spider was shaken and immediately began to run. Surprisingly, the Ants didn't pursue.

Set confused stayed at his spot trying to understand the situation. But just half a minute later, the spider came back running. Behind it, were over fifty Ants, letting out cries while brandishing their razor-sharp maws. Set felt sad seeing this, such a smart individual was outsmarted by Ants... I bet it didn't see that coming. The spider was quickly surrounded, with panic, it looked around. And with a light scoff, it began to climb the trunk of a big tree.

But just as it reached the midsection of the truck, the tree abruptly fell. The spider looked towards the Ants and found out that instead of climbing up the tree they decided to gnaw on its trunk. Bringing it down in a matter of minutes. Seeing that, even Set was surprised.

Sensing imminent danger, the spider decided to climb up another tree. But the fate of the tree was like the previous one, it was cut down in a matter of minutes. But the spider had learned its lesson. As soon as the tree was cut down, it jumped to another tree. It fled the pursuit of the ants, just like that. It leaped and ran further and further away from the ants, successfully escaping. But just as it celebrated escaping death, it felt a pulling force on its body, dragging it down to the ground below. And due to the distance from the ground and the pulling force, the spider was left unconscious along with a small crater on the ground.

Set quickly appeared, and with a smile, he bit his thumb and drew the taming inscription on the spider. But the process wasn't as simple as before, this time the beast had resisted. The inscription glowed but instead of being absorbed by the spider, like dust in the wind, it scattered away. But of course, Set had predicted this. Although the spider was just a Demon beast, it could still resist the inscription. But just as this occurred, Set summoned the King Raven brass knuckle.

The spider sensing the blood lust of the brass knuckle was frightened. Cold sweat dripped down its back, as chills invaded its body. Its souls shook as its heart trembled. It had lost all control over its body as it was being suppressed. Feeling that its consciousness was slipping, the spider looked at Set, and hurriedly said,

"Please don't kill me!"

Its senses dulled and faded as it slipped out of consciousness. Set was extremely happy! No wonder this spider was so clever, it turns out to be one of those beast-men. Thinking of all the secrets and information he was going to get, he almost couldn't control himself. He excitedly drew the taming inscription on the spider for the second time. Of course, this time it succeeded as the spider had been frightened by the King Raven Brass Knuckle. And as before, a connection was established, the spider became Set's.

And so he placed it at the top of the wolf and went on their journey. What's more, the more he traveled the more Ants they met. With each passing second, they were getting closer and closer to the Death Valley. After the sun had left for the day and the moon had come to signal the night, Set had finally reached the Death Valley.
