Your place is taken

Alvin who did not bother to look at his angry aunt took a bite from the food while savouring it's taste. Celine was the next one to start eating but Jade was unable to touch her food because almost everyone was looking at her which made her uncomfortable.

"Why don't you try the food. I'm sure that you will like it." It was Celine who said those words. Slowly and carefully looking at each person at the table, Jade took a small bite from the food and chewed as slowly as she could so that she would not need to take another bite with everyone looking at her. All that reminded her the first day that she went to Lydia's house. Everybody was looking at her like a piece of dirt and since then, she had never dined with people who had high status. She was about to take another bite when someone took her spoon from behind. It was the old lady who was glaring at her while holding her spoon. "Young girl, you have the guts to come here and take my seat. How dare you!" She said while raising her hand so that she could slap her but her hand was stopped midair by the king's words. "Lay a hand on her and I will forget that you are my aunt." He said threateningly which surprised everyone at the table. "Why did this brat take my seat. This is completely disrespectful. How dare she take my seat I am the queen of..." You should stop holding on to the idea that you are the queen of this kingdom Elisa. I have tolerated your stupidity for long but I can no longer take it." Alvin said and took jade's hand that rested on top of the table.

"Elisa, your place has already been taken. I want to make her the queen and let me make one thing clear. If any of you disrespect her you will get to taste my wrath and I'm pretty sure that you are not going to like it. Jade will be sitting here, right next to me and if you don't like it, you can have your meals in your room." His last words were directed to queen Elisa whose face had turned red due to anger and humiliation that she had gone through. Jade only lowered her face after Elisa stomped out of the room. How on earth did she end up in such a place. If she had powers like those ones of Alvin, she would have teleported to a place where no one would ever find her and start her life afresh. She thought.

"Your highness, why would you embarass mother in front of a stranger. She accepted you in the family and yet you do this to her. Mother does not deserve this. She is the eldest among us and she deserves all the respect." A girl who sat opposite Jade said as she tried to suppress her anger but Alvin ignored her as if she had said nothing and continued to eat his food. After swallowing his food he turned to look at jade who was unable to eat.

"I don't like to repeat myself Jessy. You know, I have not killed anyone off late so don't provoke me because I won't hesitate to take your life to hell where it actually belongs." With those words, Alvin got up from his seat. "Jade." With him just calling her name, jade got up from her seat and followed him.

It did not take them long to reach the. king's quarters. Jade was relieved that they got out of the dining room but she was worried about her empty stomach and the thought of being in the same room with Alvin worsened her situation. "Your food will be brought here. You can go to your room." Jade was quick to go into her room because sharing the same air with the king was not an easy thing for her.

Jade's joy did not last because as she leisurely lay on the bed while staring at the ceiling, the door was knocked. It took her a few seconds to open the door where she saw the king holding a tray of food where he handed it to her. "Tomorrow we will be visiting your family. I want to get things done quickly so that we can get married Jade. There are clothes on the word robe so stop wearing the ones you came with unless you want to taunt me which will not go well with you. Have a good night milady." Alvin leaned towards her and pecked her cheek which happened so fast that jade was caught off guard. Jade quickly closed the door, put her food on the table and rushed to the bathroom whereby she washed her face repeatedly and angrily. How dare him kiss her? She asked herself angrily as she continued to wash her cheek. It was embarrassing for her which made her wonder how she could face him. "Such a shameless man. why would he touch an unmarried woman. I will kill him!" She said to herself angrily. After sometime, she went back to the bedroom and ate her food. She was happy that there was no one staring or glaring at her. If only she would go back to her home where she was free to do anything. She missed everyone at home especially her childhood friend. "She would ask for help from Lydia once thay go home. She thought as she prepared herself to sleep.

In the middle of the night, a man wearing a black Cloak that covered half of his face stood at the edge of of the forest near the sea while talking to another man who looked at the sea. "She will be our key to get everything we lost brother." I will make sure that I rule this lands and the sea as well. Gloria should wait for me because this time I won't come unprepared." The man who looked at the sea said and laughed. "If they think that I am dead, they will be surprised to see me again. I'll make sure that Gloria dies by my sword." "When do we take the girl? " The man with the cloak asked in which he was answered. "Let us wait for her powers to bloom but until then, keep a close eye on her." With those words, the cloaked man disappeared into the darkness.
