BSWS CH-19 Aftermath, Preparations and Training Part-2

"Alright, since you have mastered Tree walking, lets take it to the next step." Kakashi said "Did you all notice how Zabuza was standing on water during our fight?"

"Yeah! I was wondering how he did that!!" Naruto said.

"That is also an application of Chakra Control." Kakashi said. He slowly walked over to a nearby pool of water and demonstrated it for them.

"Water walking is an advanced form of Chakra control. While Tree Walking simply needs you to maintain a particular amount of chakra, Water Walking needs you to modify that amount constantly based on the changes in surface tension and volume of water." Kakashi lectured.

Seeing that his students didn't realize the difference between the two types of chakra control, he decided to let them experience it. Naruto went ahead and tried to run on water, similar to how Zabuza had done. However, his efforts were rewarded with a mouthful of water and a face slap, as he fell on water like a stone and sank.

Sasuke was more careful however he too could not maintain the balance for more than a few seconds as the water erupted like a blast below his feet. The proud Uchiha now looked like a drenched crow as he swam to the surface and tried again.

Sakura however surprised Kakashi again. She stood right on the edge of the lake for entire five minutes, with just a single foot of the surface of the water. Five minutes later, she took her second step, then another and so on.

Ten minutes later, she was walking normally on water's surface. 20 minutes later, she could run, fight, and do acrobatics on water, capable of supporting herself with either hand or feet on water. Kakashi was now numb of her achievements. It seemed that she was blessed with tremendous chakra control.

Earlier he thought it was because of her lesser amount of chakra compared to her peers, but now he was not so sure. Now that he was comparing properly, he estimated her maximum chakra to be around 3/4th of Sasuke. Yet she still demonstrated a level of chakra control that would probably take Sasuke weeks to achieve.

Sasuke might be able to complete this water walking exercise in a few days, but being as comfortable and natural as Sakura would not be possible in a short time. Kakashi was truly impressed by Sakura, especially considering her performance in the last fight.

The Ninjutsus she had used were all general pure chakra based techniques any shinobi could learn. However she had managed to employ those to turn the tides in their fight with Zabuza. He could only imagine what she could do by learning more powerful Ninjutsu.

"Sakura, it seems we have to train you first while Sasuke and Naruto learn Water Walking." Kakashi said and took her some distance away.

"Kakashi Sensei, I actually need a favor." Sakura said.

"What favor?" Kakashi asked.

"I actually have my own plans regarding training. But for them to go successfully I need to check something. Can you lend me a chakra testing paper if you have one?" Sakura said.

"Hmm, you know about that too huh? You truly are the most knowledgeable Genin to graduate ever." Kakashi said as he searched his pockets. He pulled out a bunch of paper strips from one and gave Sakura one.

"Do you know how to use them too?" Kakashi asked.

"Yes. I have to insert a trace of my chakra in it." Sakura replied and she took a deep breath. Calming herself down, she inserted a trace of her chakra in the paper.

After a few seconds, the paper displayed four different reactions in the four corners. Both Kakashi and Sakura herself were astonished at this.

'What is going on? I thought I would awaken one affinity. Yet there are clearly three to four affinity reactions on this paper.' Sakura thought 'Did my soul merging with Sakura's actually produce some changes in me that I had not realized as important?'

Before their eyes, a quarter of the paper got wet from one corner. At the same, another quarter next to it crumbled into dirt. On the opposite end, one corner of the paper started becoming hazy and simply vanished, while the last quarter of the paper started extending and swelling in distorted way.

Kakashi was most astonished on seeing Sakura display a four-element reaction. But he was even more astonished to see that two of those reactions were those that he had only seen in some specific clans or some advanced Jonin and above ninja who insert a specific form of chakra.

Wet part of the chakra paper represented Water Affinity, While the crumbling dart part represented Earth affinity. Those were still believable though, Some Genin have shown two affinities among the five basic affinities.

However, the Hazy or Vanishing part of the paper represented the elusive Yin affinity, an affinity that dealt with the imagination and spiritual energy of a shinobi. It was also rumored that exceptional Yin affinity could modify the very reality itself.

The extending and swelling in distorted way represented the vigorous Yang affinity, an affinity that dealt with the vitality and physical energy of a shinobi. Yang affinity was proven to be highly effective in anything concerning with modification or revitalization of physical body.

Together, they can be used to perform the legendary Yin–Yang Release. This was only mentioned in myths and stories, especially the stories concerning the origins of chakra.

'Earth and Water affinity put aside, how am I supposed to teach her about Yin and Yang based jutsu?' Kakashi thought 'The only pure Yin type techniques I have heard of is the Nara Hiden jutsu of Shadow Manipulation. I guess this is why she is so good at Genjutsu, Yin affinity directly reinforces Genjutsu.'

'As for Yang affinity, Akimichi clan's Calorie control is the most famous Yang style jutsu. But as that is also a Hiden jutsu, I doubt Sakura will be able to learn it without getting into trouble. However, I guess she can practice Healing Techniques. They are a good application of Yang type jutsu and will be useful in saving lives.'

While Kakashi made various plans, Sakura had already recovered from her shock. Though she was shocked about the multiple affinities too, she ignored them for now as she could not train them all together until she got suitable training methods.

Out of the four affinities, she only recognized Water and Earth. Of these two, she was interested in Water currently. This was because of a treasure trove of knowledge she had got her hands on recently. She had been hoping for a Water affinity actually, because otherwise she would have to train to acquire that affinity.

But now that she had acquired it naturally, she directly move forward with her plans. With a small smile on her face, she turned her attention to UTS.

'UTS, transmit all the Water style Jutsu you have recorded from the fight against Zabuza. Transmit them sequentially in order of their grade to avoid mental overload.'
