111 Serial Killings

Stepping out of the car, Eiji stood in front of a house guarded by several police officers to prevent entry.

Around the police line, local residents watched while gossiping about the case of a family murder that had occurred.

"Let's go in, Kamiki-sama."

Ijichi approached Eiji after completing their identity verification.

"Um."

They both entered the house without being stopped by the police.

"Is it okay to bring this kid along? Let me warn you, even experienced officers would feel nauseated seeing the condition of the bodies inside."

A police officer named Tachibana accompanied them, glancing at Eiji, who looked as young as his son, he sincerely warned.

His knowledge of Jujutsu wasn't too deep. To him, Jujutsu Sorcerers were no different from shaman.

"Thank you for your concern, Tachibana-san, but you don't need to worry. This isn't the first time Kamiki-sama has faced a murder case."

Ijichi replied on behalf of Eiji. Anyway, he knew the other party didn't like to talk.

"I've warned you, alright?"

Tachibana shrugged and led them both to the living room.

"Captain."

Both forensic team members at the crime scene saluted, then glanced at the two behind them.

"Any clues yet?"

"No, we haven't found any clues at all. There aren't even any fingerprints left."

One of the forensic team smiled bitterly.

"Well, feel free to look around as much as you like."

Turning around, Tachibana anticipated seeing a change in the apathetic youth's expression.

Eiji maintained his indifferent expression despite seeing the bloody scene before him. On the contrary, Ijichi looked like he was holding back from vomiting.

In front of them, there were mutilated body parts nailed to the wall, blood staining the once white walls crimson. The most frightening part was that the body parts of the entire family were arranged in such a way that they didn't match their original owners.

For example, the head was male, while the body was female, and parts from the waist down belonged to a child. Moreover, the expressions of the father, mother, and daughter showed painful expressions before death.

"Tsk, undoubtedly the scoundrel who did this is a psychopath."

Taking out a lighter and a cigarette, Tachibana began smoking to calm his anger.

"Um. What's worse, this psychopath is a Jujutsu Sorcerer."

Examining the gruesome corpses up close, Eiji found remnants of Cursed Energy remaining on the three bodies in front of him.

If it were just a regular murder, he wouldn't need to get involved in solving the case. However, if the criminal case involved Jujutsu Sorcerers, he had to take action. Compared to other Jujutsu Sorcerers, Eiji had more free time. Moreover, the number of Grade 1 and Special Grade Cursed Spirits was not as many as Grade 2 and below.

"This person's control over Cursed Energy is very good, almost equivalent to the bearer of the Six Eyes. No wonder if the previous Jujutsu Sorcerer who examined concluded that this case was just a regular murder committed by a psychopath."

Eiji somewhat admired the other party's mastery of Cursed Energy.

In fact, this was the 10th case with a similar murder method. Then, the police concluded that the mastermind behind these murders was not an ordinary person, and decided to call in more competent Jujutsu Sorcerers.

Three Jujutsu Sorcerers came before Eiji to handle this case. However, they always came to the same conclusion, that there were no traces of Cursed Technique or Cursed Energy usage.

Nevertheless, the higher-ups in the police force still felt something was off. So, they requested the Jujutsu Headquarters to send a Jujutsu Sorcerer stronger than the previous ones.

As a result, Eiji was assigned to solve this case.

(Thanks to Suguru-san who is actively hunting Cursed Spirits compared to before, I have more free time. The higher-ups don't let me relax, and instead give me a lot of other tasks.)

If it weren't for the relatively high commission, Eiji would be reluctant to take on tasks like this.

Hearing his murmurs, Ijichi asked, "So, is the murderer indeed a Jujutsu Sorcerer?"

"Yes. Whether this person is foolish or overly confident, not only did he not flee after committing the murders, he even watched this place as if enjoying the police's inability to find any clues."

"What?! Where is that crazy psychopath?!"

Upon hearing Eiji's words, Tachibana's face flushed red with veins bulging on his forehead.

The faces of the two forensic team members weren't much better.

Before Ijichi could ask how the killer was watching them, he saw Eiji raise his right hand upwards. Then, the ceiling shattered, revealing a Cursed Spirit in the shape of an eye.

The Cursed Spirit attempted to escape, but its pull was drawn to Eiji's palm.

"I found you."

With the Six Eyes, Eiji saw the Cursed Energy on that Cursed Spirit connected to the user. His gaze seemed to penetrate everything and stare in a certain direction.

In a house where all family members had been killed, there was a young man with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail on the left side of his head and three purple marks under each eye, sitting on the couch enjoying popcorn.

As his Shikigami was revealed, he remained calm, but that calmness was replaced by an overwhelming fear as he felt the gaze of the other party on him.

"What the heck is that guy?! Is he still human? He looks so powerful... I have to escape!"

After being startled and falling to the floor, the man abandoned his intention to continue watching. His intuition told him that the other party was very dangerous, not wanting to take any risks, he chose to flee from there.

"Oh, this is quite surprising. Turns out the recent serial killer is you, Shigemo Haruta."

After determining the location of the Shikigami owner, Eiji hurried over. Seeing the fleeing man, he immediately recognized his identity thanks to Lin Fan's memories.

Shigemo Haruta, a strange individual who prioritized his own safety and pleasure above all else. He was somewhat intelligent but chose to act in a very childish and psychopathic manner.

He openly admitted to being a coward, preferring to fight weak opponents rather than compete with strong ones. Additionally, he was sadistic and enjoyed the suffering of others.

He usually only acted on the orders of others and would flee when there were signs of trouble.

"Damn, why did he come so quickly?!" Shigemo panicked but didn't stop.

"You're just a small villain. There's no need to tolerate you any further."

Considering the pros and cons, Eiji decided to eliminate Shigemo. He was no longer someone who was bound to plot changes.

If the future changed, just face it, don't keep avoiding it.

"Let's end this in one strike."

The Grass Sword appeared in Eiji's hand. He wasn't worried that the other party would escape. He had locked Shigemo's Cursed Energy aura; he could track him down anytime.

Using Blue on himself, he achieved high-speed movements over short distances.

This is a different application of the Limitless Technique than compressing space for instantaneous long-distance movement. This makes Kamiki Eiji and Gojo Satoru the fastest Jujutsu Sorcerers of this era.

"Die."

"No, I—"

Before Shigemo could plead for mercy, the katana cut him in half vertically.

Fresh blood sprayed in all directions, and his bisected body fell to the ground.

If it weren't for Infinity, Eiji might be covered in blood by now.

"Hmmm... Even Miracles couldn't save him, huh..."

After observing Shigemo for a few moments, Eiji didn't find him rising again.

He was ready to attack again if Shigemo rose thanks to his Cursed Technique.

Shigemo Haruta's Innate Technique, Miracles. This technique erases small miracles (like seeing a clock have the same numbers in all rooms) along with their memories, from his life and stores them, indicated by the marks under his eyes.

Stored miracles are released when Shigemo's life is in danger, changing his luck to ensure he survives a fatal blow.

"Miracles are not almighty. If the difference in strength is too great, even luck can't save him."

To be safer, Eiji decapitated Shigemo, stabbed his heart, and mutilated his body parts. Thus, even if Shigemo somehow rose again, he would die instantly.

"Leave the cleanup to Ijichi-san."

Feeling nothing after mutilating someone, Eiji turned and left to report that the serial killing case that had troubled the residents of Tokyo was finally resolved.
