Final Showdown! (or not)

One by one, I cut down (knocked out, I'm not a monster, you know) every for in my way for 5 hours without rest.

Slash!

"999 down. 1 to go."

The arena filled with cheers for me. It felt good to be acknowledged for once.

"But, will her lucky streak end here? It seems the odds are against her now, as her opponent Is none other than Aphunor's greatest hero of 17 years, none other than Terryn, the Mighty!!!!!!!"

The entire city shook with praise, and I steadied myself. After what seemed like decades, I'll finally come face to face with the only opponent in the entire contest I even cared about. Terry is known far and wide as the mightest hero. They say his white hair flows like an icy river in battle, and his emerald green eyes can shake you to your very core. Though, as with many heroes, he's lacking in the personality department. He always spouts of these cheesy one-liners and it's annoying, but people are usually to awestricken by his 'awesomeness'

Terryn walked in with his usual overconfident stride. He was wearing his usual shiny mithril armour and wielded an obnoxiously large broadsword.

"Hello, Zyra-"

Using Body flicker, I charged towards him, only to be blocked by the, well, broad end of his sword.

Still as quick to the draw as-"

"Just shut up and fight!"

I have no patience for his crap today of all days.

"Geez fine," he said in his usual near bratty tone.

He pushed me off and proceeded to slam me into the far side of the stadium.

"Well, at least you're still not a pushover, " I mumbled.

The crowd cheered as I got up from the rumble.

"Well, I guess I have to use that after all."

I closed my eyes and focused. It an instant, I disappear and two of me appear on the other side of the stadium.

Body flicker requires you to expand and contract every muscle in your body in a single second. Now, what if you halved the time and used it continuously? Well, you get afterimages, or 'clones'. That's what this technique does. The downside is it tears your muscles apart slowly and painfully, but I can handle it. The name of this technique is..... Body Flicker: Double Strike! Okay I know it's not creative but the name doesn't matter and I'm bad at them anyway.

Both of 'me' charge at Terryn, appearing and disappearing randomly. He gets pushed back, but he still manages to block most of my hits. I need to go faster!

I force myself to the point of my nose bleeding, and 2 more 'clones' appeared. The four of me managed to get him on the ground, but he quickly recovers. Now, you may be wondering why I'm trying so hard to beat this guy. Is he a corrupt hero that abuses his power? No, he's more or less a good guy. Did he kill someone in my family? Na, I'm an only child and my mom is at home sleeping probably. So why do I want to kick his ass? Because he's my dad and he's way too cringe. So, I want to punch him in the face the legal way! Yeah. That's it. no trauma or anything. I'm just tired of him.

I keep pushing forward, and finally, he leaves an opening! However, as I go to make the final strike, a flash of purple light appeared between us. As I recovered, I became surprised seeing a tall blue woman standing where the light came from.

"I've seen enough. You," she said as she pointed to me, "You're coming with me."

"You're not taking her anywhere!" said Terryn, in the most normal, concerned voice he ever used, as he attempted to slash her with his sword.

Oh right, you're still here."

With a flick of her finger, Terryn was sent flying back, almost breaking through the stadium wall.

"Hey! No one can kick his ass but me!"

I charged towards her with body flicker, and I passed out before I even what happened. Crap.
