6 Chapter 5: The Angel, The Demon and A Claptrap (Rework)

I was watching Clqptrap getting chased by the Bandits, who kept shooting near his wheel.

I was seriously deciding my life choices right now.

Should I 'let' or 'not let'.

After 15 minutes of watching Claptrap pitifully try to evade their gun shots, while failing successfully on his utter buckshit of a 'Luck' stat he had. Seriously, he must have Domino's mutant Gene of unbelievable 'Good Luck'.

I decided to go with the latter choice and 'not let' him die.

I blinked down to the Bandit in the rear.

Using my Dark Saber, I cut the heads off the Marauder and dashed towards the others.

They all eventually tried reacting to my sudden ambush attack. However, only a few were able to survive as I wasn't fast enough to cut them down. They tried swinging a Buzzaxe at me or tried to shoot me.

I just teleported again and bisected the ones with the guns first. I then used my Hawkmoon and performed a headship on all of the remaining Psychos.

With all that done, I took their gear and carcasses into my Storage Space. Their bodies won't decompose in my Storage Space, allowing me to keep in in as fresh condition as I can. This'll help me alot in the future.

"Watch out behind you!" Claptrap screamed

Huh...it seems Claptrap was useful for once.

I was already aware of the two Psychos who tried sneaking up on me with my Spatial Awareness.

I made sure to constantly monitor my surroundings with it at all times. It was essentially Echolocation and a Spider Sense mixed together. Why wouldn't I keep it active at all times. Also it was practically free in terms of Siren Energy consumption.

I pull out Hawkmoon and shoot the head of one Psycho while I kick the other who tried jumping at me with a Buzzaxe.

I them blinked to his position. He was currently lying on his back on the dirt and sand covered ground.

I raised my Dark Saber high and brought it down with all my force.

The result was the head being so cleanly severed that it had not separated until I touched the body. The ground where my Dark Saber had cut into, was completely gouged out.

I stored all their corpses into my System Space and turned to face Claptrap.

"Hello Claptrap" I greeted the robot.

He wasn't that bad of a guy, just had a few screws loose. Also Shadowtrap is inside him so there's that too.

"Oh! Thank goodness! I'm saved! Thank you very much friend. Say, how do you know my name. Have we met before? What am I saying! Of course we have. You're my long lost apprentice! Don't worry, your master forgives you for your long absence. Now together, we shall retake Fyrestone from Nine-Toes men and overthrow Sledge and make me the new Warlord of this region!"

Tsk!

Maybe I should have 'let' him die.

I so badly want to shoot that fucking mouth off!

Where is his voice box!

I need to "rearrange" some things in his circuitry!

"I am not your apprentice. Although I do know about four of your 'Long lost apprentices' that will be arriving soon." I told him while barely keeping a straight face at the prank I'm pulling on the Vaukt Hunters.

Hahaha!

Good luck dealing with his shit you four!

"Truely?! Very well then. I will patiently wait until my grand army has arrived and I can help to free my fellow brethren from their mistreatment! Say, you haven't introduced yourself yet."

...

...

???

!!!

Shit!

I guess I was an idiot about telling him that Roland and the gang arriving soon. Noone should know about the Vault Hunters arriving other then Jack, or as he is currently known as, John, and his daughter Angel.

I can definitely feel the presence of Angel watching me through something in the nearby area. Although I can't identify which.

I always leave my Echo back at the Motel. I can't take it with me or Angel can spy on me through it. And I certainly can't place it in my Storage Space since she would detect that her connection to the Echo device had been severed and John would only grow more suspicious of me.

She will definitely be forced to report this to John, since she is being controlled by the Siren Control Collar around her neck.

There are Loopholes in the Siren Control Collar. One of which is that she can do whatever she wants, so long as she carries out her father's orders. Anything else is free game.

For example, John might have said specifically to "inform me about any rumours of females with blue Tattoos with possible Siten powers."

Since he never said anything about a Male Siren, since they don't and can't exist unless it's Troy or me cause of my wish, Angel can keep the fact that I'm a Siren a secret from her father.

Some of the orders I know that he told Angel are these:

1 - Any reports about females with blue Tattoos...

Or...

1 - Any of the six Sirens...

2 - Anything about the Vault Key and its current locations

3 - Repeat what he says to the Vault Hunters throughout their journey

4 - Gain their Trust

5 - Trick them at New Haven so he can attack it with Wilheim

6 - Lowers Sanctuary shields

7 - Charge the Vault Key

8 - Look for potential Vault Hunter candidates

There are more, but you get the idea. I don't go into specifics since I dont actually know what he told her as the actual order itself. But this much can be assumed as what the abridged version of the missive he gave her was.

The second Loophole in the Siren Control Collar is that it can be resisted through sheer power and will.

When Lilith was captured by Jack, he ordered her to kill the Vault Hunters, but she was able to resist it for a few moments and teleport them away.

As for Angel, she had been able to resist it multiple times by the time of Borderlands 2.

After the mission 'The Man Who Would Be Jack', Jack restrains Angel and possibly orders her not to help them anymore.

However, she was still able to resist and help the Vault Hunters. Especially at the Bio-Scan door that leads to Control Core Angel.

This was possibly thanks to all the Eridium coursing through her body, thus it was also empowering her PhaseShift ability to control technology and allowed her to bypass the Siren Control Collar to some extent, but not completely resist it as she was still forced to obey the order to charge the Vault Key. That is why she still insisted on the Vault Hunters kill her.

However, Angel is not that powerful yet Hyperion is unable to mine any Eridium if it hasn't emerged yet. Thus she can't be empowered by it to resist the Collar.

Luckily it seems a high chance she is alone right now and was just monitoring Fyrestone in preparation for the Vault Hunters arrival.

That would mean they will be arriving in a few hours.

In an Echo Log in-game, its revealed that Johm arrives only moments before the Bus talk and instructed Angel to repeat his words to the Vault Hunters almost immediately as he walked in.

Thus John/Jack can't be observing him with Angel.

Thank God for that. I'm not ready to face a Mega Corporation like Hyperion yet, nor a very powerful Siren taht is being controlled by a future genocidal maniac.

I'll deal with Angel later.

Fuck, I just remembered something else...

The Seer...

The Seer is an Eridian Guardian that was the Final Boss of the Borderlands 3: Director's Cut DLC.

In the game, The Seet wasn't too hard to fight.

However...

The Seer is just as Omnipresent as Angel is.

The Seer is also very powerful in its abilities.

More so then any other Vault Guradians or entities that the Players encountered throughout the entire Borderlands franchise.

In first place it is The Destroyer naturally. The Destroyer is a massive, intergalactic menace being from another dimension, sealed within the Great Vault, capable of devouring stars, entire planets and civilizations.

And then in second place is The Seer.

Third place is God Queen Tyreen/Tyreen the Destroyer and/or Nyriad and any PhaseLeech Siren user.

4th - The Warrior served as the Vanguard against The Destroyer. The Warrior is a biological Eridian superweapon lying dormant on Pandora, acting as the planet's guardian. It resides within a Vault in the northern reaches of the planet, and can be controlled through the use of the Vault Key. (a/n I'll explain more later.)

5th - The Traveller is a kaiju sized teleporting golem that was dormant in its Vault, but it required Gortys to unlock the said vault.

6th - Gythian is a Cthulhu-based vault monster that's been mostly dead for many years, but whose heart still lives and influences the inhabitants of the planet Xylourgos.

7th - The Serpent was the vault monster of Nekrotafeyo, slain many years ago by Typhon DeLeon and his wife Leda and only encountered as a corpse by the modern vault hunters. (Should be stronger then Graveward, Rqmpager and Sentinal.)

8th - The Empyrean Sentinel was sealed within a vault on Pandora's moon, Elpis, protecting ancient and future knowledge about The Warrior. It is an ancient, colossal humanoid with a multi-faced head created by the Eridians.

9th - The Graveward is a monster that laid dormant within a vault near the Jakobs estate on Eden-6. Like the rest of Eden-6, the Graveward has a swampy and verdant appearance.

10th - The Rampager is a large and wild beast that was sealed within a vault underneath the Apollyon Transit Station on Promethea.

(A/n I haven't played Tales of the Borderlands Season 2 yet so I can't give a ranking of the new Vault Guardian since i don't know what it is yet.)

This list naturally only included Sirens and Vault Monsters. However, The Seer is a Guardian and not a Vault Monster or Siren.

Nothing about The Seer is known, other then its objective and some abilities. Sure ig isn't powerful as a being individually. But it's abilities make it a threat, just like Angel's PhaseShift power.

It's revealed in Director's Cut DLC that The Seer was responsible for helping the Vault Hunters to counter the Calypso Twins plans a certain number of times.

But then, it changed sides and began helping the Capyso Twins in secret as it had always done.

Why it does this is never known. But what it was trumying to do was...

The Seer wants to open The Great Vailt and free The Destroyer.

This had confused so many people and had opened a massive discussion in the community at one point.

The Seer was a Eridian Guardian like any other, albeit a stronger one like The Watcher.

All Eridian Guardians were created by the Eridiqns to keep the Eridian Vaults safe and guarded, especially any Vault related to opening The Great Vault.

So why us The Seer wanting to go against and defy the orders if its creators.

This may only be revealed in Borderlands 4, but now I will never know since I got reincarnated here now.

The Seer was the second most powerful entity I my books, since it has a form of Time Manipulation or Future Foresight.

Just as The Seer said to the Player and ava. "When the Key vannished, so too did the Future". This could mean that The Seer can only see and change the course of afuture events so long as the Vault Key exists. But when Lilith used PhaseWalk on Elpis, she "Shattered" the future.

The Seer also has other abilities like Mind Control, Telepathy, Possession, Fate Manipulation, Destiny Manipulation, Domain Manipulation, Projectile Attacks, Teleportation, Dimensional control, Electricity Manipulation, Shadow Manipulation, Blindness inducement, Invisibility.

It was able to trap a Siren (Ava) and cause her phase in and out of existence constantly and was able to trap her in another dimension. Only with the Vault Hunters help was she able to escape.

Also it could control any being in the Galaxy, but it acnnit control Sirens since they are unique in a multitude of ways and possess free will.

If I hadn't wished for a Siren power when I reincarnated, then The Seer would have controlled my and my future actions the moment of my transmigration.

That also reminds me. The Seer probably already knows of my existence.

That'll be a pain to deal with. I will need to get stronger as quickly as I can and eliminate The Seer before it can begin to plot against me anymore then it already has.

My thoughts were interrupted by Claptrap once again.

"...Hello? Claptrap to Stranger?"

I shook my head as I remembered that Angel was watching. Maybe even The Seer as well. I'll deal with that problem later, it's not like The Seer will get the balls to do anything about it anytime soon. It's just chilling on Nekrotafeyo doing who knows what.

"Yes. Don't mind me I was distracted momentarily. My name is...Spectre." I replied to his earlier inquiry of my name.

"That your real name orrrr..." He nervously asked.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"...okay~ ...hey, you want to be friends?"

...

I really wanted to kill Claptrap when he said that. My pride couldn't handle this, nor could my Brain cells.

After that awkward moment, we chattered for a while and I threatened him that if he talks unnecessarily to me then I will memory wipe Claptrap.

Claptrap understood obediently.

He asks me why and when was I here, since Claptrap never knew of my being in Fyrestone this whole time.

I said I arrived a week ago and was just staying here at the abandoned Fyrestone Motel since Fyrestone was frequently overrun by Bandits during their raids.

I got bored at some point so I ended up buying a packet of Gwent cards and played with Claptrap.

Claptrap wasn't all that bad...but I still dislike him.

My Gwent cards were the ordinary set since the more rarer high tier cards were so goddamn expensive I decided to fire a shot from my Gjallahorn right at a Bandit camp just to quell my frustration at not being able to buy my favourite cards.

*Time skip - few hours*

I make my way to to my rooftop as usual while sniping Bandit Runners with Patience and Time occasionally from time to time.

I could shoot the unprotected driver right in the head, everytime. Even as they were driving at max speeds.

It was just that easy for me now with my sniper. I really want to buy the Whisper of the Worm as soon as I can.

Whenever I snipped ll the Bandits in the vehicles, I would blink over and store everything, including the Outrunner into my Storage Space.

Free loot for me. I mean...they just left it here...so they must not want it.

As I was on the rooftop once more aiming down the sights, causing me to activate Patience and Time's invisibility effect.

I could hear an unfamiliar sound.

I looked around, still down the sights of my sniper so my Invisibility effect remqins active.

It was Marcus' Bus. And it had just pulled up alongside the road.

Roland and the others got off the Bus and watched as Marcus left.

"It's finally time." I said to myself as i observed them from my vantage point.
