9 Chapter 8

Present Mic POV

"Round 2 so soon~ <3" A mocking voice came through my earpiece, this little brat is baiting my husband.

"Why..?" His voice was quiet, full of suspense.

"Come again? You're gonna have to speak up Aizy~" WHAT. DID. THAT. SEWER RAT. JUST. CALL. MY. HUSBAND????

"One, don't call my Aizy and my question is why did you do it? Why did you kill all those people?" YEAH, TELL 'EM BABE!!!

"Because they deserved it." They had a point there.

"Deserved it?" Wow, his voice is hot.

"If you do a complete and thorough background check on all the people I've killed, they've all committed a crime. Whether that crime be rape, drug trafficking, or dealing with gangs to do their dirty work. Every single one has done something wrong and unforgivable." That is what we found, but what about Enji?

"Ok, but what makes you think you can go around dispensing vigilante justice?" he questioned "And what about Endeavor?" Wow, he really can read my mind, can't he?

"Do you really not know of his past? What he has done to his wife, to his children!?" What?

The villain ranted about what Endeavor had done to his wife and to his children, to say all of us were shocked is an understatement. Though one phrase confused me. As the villain was screaming about what Endeavor had done, it seemed as if they were about to say something when they caught themselves and started talking about the eldest brother. What were they about to say?

As if Nezu read my mind he stated thoughtfully, "I wonder what they were originally going to say?"

"What do you mean?" Nemuri asked, a bit confused.

"While they were talking it seemed as if Zavage was about to say something, but then suddenly stopped. It could have been a stutter or some sort of mess up, but right when they began, they took a sharp inhale of air, a signal of being in a panicked state."

I hummed and nodded in agreement.

"Why he let what? You started saying something, but you never finished. Why is that?" Good question. Dang, my husband is the best.

"DID YOU NOT HEAR THE REST OF THAT?" DON'T YELL AT MY HUSBAND YOU TRASH BAG!

"Defensive now huh? What were you about to say?" Yeah, what were they gonna say?

"It doesn't matter, what matters is that that man is gone and can't hurt those poor kids anymore." Kids? Why so general? Avoidance maybe?

"You just said kids and not his children. Are you implying he has hurt children besides his own?" I mean it's possible, right?

"If he could hurt his kids It's possible that he could do the same to others right? Maybe he did something to this kid?" I whisper to the others.

Nezu nodded and hummed at my statement, "It is quite possible."

"Like I said it doesn't matter, so are you going to fight me or not?" I'm sorry what?

"Gladly." Wait, what's happening? HOLD ON WHAT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN????

Nemuri POV

I looked over to the spot on the floor where Present Mic was currently having a panic attack. His idiot of a husband was fighting one of the most feared villains in Japan. He kept muttering about how he doesn't want Shouta to die.

"Shut up idiot, he'll be fine. He always pulls through."

"You don't know that Nemuri, that kid just MURDERED the number two hero!"

"Have faith in your husband he'll be alright."

We listened as they began talking again. Grunts, smacks, and different noises that were indicating they were fighting rang in the background. As the action started a million thoughts ran through my head.

"Earlier, you used kids as a broad term. Why didn't you say his children?" His voice was slightly strained, he must be fighting hard. I didn't notice what they said at the time but it does seem weird now.

"Like I said, it doesn't matter, it was a slip-up nothing more." Seriously? Even I'm careful what

I say in battle, and I can basically say anything then just blame it on them falling asleep.

"It wasn't a slip-up, you were going to say something, but you stopped yourself. Did he maybe hurt someone you knew?" Hmm, Mic did mention something about that earlier, now he's too much of a mess to pay attention to the conversation.

"Shut up…" Oh, that did something.

"Maybe it was a friend?" Maybe a lover?

"Shut up." Hhm, he's getting closer.

"Or perhaps it was a family member." Not impossible.

"SHUT UP!" Oh, that struck a nerve. We heard the sound of flesh being pierced and a loud grunt of pain from Shouta. Shit, Mic's not gonna be happy about that.

"Ah now I understand, the one he hurt was you." From his labored breathing, it sounds like he got hit hard, hopefully, he's ok.

We heard a small gasp, then a loud thud. Oh no, if that was Shouta this can't be good.

Mic screamed, "SHOUTA!" Getting up from my spot in the chair I carefully stepped over Endeavor's dead covered body, coming to rest at Mic's side, I hugged him tightly. God, for Mic's sake I hope that wasn't Shouta's body.

After a couple of moments of silence we heard a tired and pained voice, "Don't worry idiots, I'm alright. They hesitated and in that moment I restrained them and knocked them out," there was another grunt of pain, "And hurry up, they managed to stab me, it's not critical, but I'm losing blood fast."

Thankfully at some point, Hawks had woken up and said that he would stay with the others who were still sleeping so we could go find Shouta. Each hero had a tracking chip embedded in their suit so in case we ever got separated we could find each other. My God that man is reckless, what was he thinking, fighting a villain like that twice in a row? He could've been killed! And who tries to unlock a villain's tragic backstory in the middle of a fight? Still, I'm glad he's ok.

We used the tracking device and soon we were led to an old abandoned building. We hopped in through one of the windows after breaking off the boards and rushed to where Shouta is. We made it to what looked like the living room of the house and what we saw was terrifying. There was blood splattered everywhere and Shota was sitting against the wall battered, bruised, and blood leaking from his shoulder.

Mic ran over to him screaming, "SHOUTA!"

He kept panicking and muttering things under his breath about how much he was worried and how he isn't allowed to do that ever again. He only stopped when Shouta placed a weak and tired hand on his shoulder, "Calm down stupid."

I chuckled, "I love you, you reckless idiot."

He smiled, "I love you too."

I was watching the two love birds. Honestly, they're so adorable together.

Nezu cleared his throat, "I don't mean to ruin the moment, but the ambulance will be here in about five minutes," he turned towards the unconscious villain who was tied up in Shouta's scarf, "Now could you please explain how you know this person? They look quite young don't they."

Mic sighed, "They work at Lavender Cat Cafe and we talked with them briefly while surrounded by the cats there. I believe they said their name was Alex Kurosaki."

Nezu nodded, "We'll look into it later, the ambulance is here."

I heard sirens coming closer and closer to us, "Alright let's get you up. Do you think you can walk?" I asked Shota.

He nodded, "Probably, but not without help."

Nezu clapped his paws together, "Alright everyone time to go!"
