Chapter 97
"Oi, don't push your luck..." warned Izuku, narrowing his eyes at Mineta, the latter standing with his hand against the wooden partition separating the boys' and girls' baths.
"Kuh..."
Removing his hand from the partition, Mineta turned to meet Izuku's gaze, his expression the scariest a 108cm tall chibi with a grape mohawk could manage as he questioned, "Does your tyranny know no bounds? Peeping on the girls' bath is a Summer tradition, one of the things that make Field Trips and Training Camps worthwhile..."
"Preposterous!" shouted Ida, making a mechanical chopping motion with his right hand as he added, "As students aspiring to become Pro Heroes, it is important to practice restraint!"
"Bullshit...!" screamed Mineta, pointing at Izuku with tears in his eyes as he shouted, "If anyone should practice restraint, it's Midoriya-kun! At this rate, even the new girl will fall into his greedy clutches! You're telling me I can't even sneak a peek!? It's not fair...!"
Without waiting for anyone to respond, Mineta ran out of the bath, holding his forearm over his eyes as he bawled loudly. Even Izuku felt a little bad, but as there was no way he would let a little pervert sneak a peek at his naked girlfriends' bodies, he just closed his eyes and attempted to enjoy the heat of the bath...
Making no effort to conceal his voice, Bakugo, who had been getting along fairly well with Kirishima and Sero, asked, "Hey, weird hair, what's the deal with that grape head's reaction? Is...Midoriya popular with the girls in Class?"
"Oh, totally," replied Kirishima, not even batting an eye at the 'nickname' Bakugo had given him. "From what I hear, he even has a fan club."
"Seriously?" asked Bakugo, a look of disbelief marring his face as he cast a glance at Izuku. Then, causing the latter to nearly inhale the bath water, he added, "I was almost certain he was gay..."
Rising to an upright position, Izuku stopped ignoring Bakugo for the first time since that day, asking, "Seriously, dude? What kind of nonsense are you spouting on your first day back...?"
Snorting through his nose, Bakugo pointedly asserted, "You treated the girls in our elementary and middle school like air, and you addressed all the guys in our friend group with the suffix chan. If I didn't think you were coming onto me, I might not have bullied you as much as I did."

As he had inherited the original's memories, including those that came about as a result of his appearance change, Izuku found himself unable to refute Bakugo's words. The original truly had added the chan suffix to his friends' names, including referring to Bakugo as 'Kat-chan.' The latter was so deeply ingrained into the original's vocabulary, in fact, that, if he wasn't careful, Izuku might default to using it as well...
Sinking back into the water, Izuku, with his arms splayed on the edge of the bath, replied, "Well, I'm definitely not gay...not that I have anything against those who are. I just happened to have mature preferences, so I wasn't interested in any of the girls we attended elementary and middle school with. I was also Quirkless back then, so I doubt any of them would have given me the time of day..."
Hearing Izuku's reminder that he was previously Quirkless, an awkward silence descended upon the boys' bath. There were quite a few people in the Class who envied him, so it was difficult to imagine he hadn't 'always' been the beast he is now...
As the person who knew best how 'pathetic' Izuku used to be, Bakugo was the most relaxed among the group, narrowing his carmine eyes as he pointedly remarked, "Speaking of your Quirk...you never actually told me what it was. I thought it was a simple Enhancement-type Quirk, but your punches generate way too much wind pressure. Then there's those freaky black tentacles that look like lightning..."
"Mmm...I guess now's as good a time as any..." muttered Izuku, thinking back to his conversations with Shino, Tomoko, Ryuko, and Aizawa earlier that day. He had effectively been tasked with trying to recruit everyone in his Class to his Party. Thus, after a moment of consideration, he replied, "As difficult as this might be to believe, my Quirk, Digitalization, basically makes me a character from a video game. And it doesn't just affect me but the world around me. In other words, my Quirk isn't an Enhancement-type but the rarest classification of all, an Actualization-type. One of only three in the entire world. The others belong to Stars and Stripes, the No. 1 Hero in America, and Pendragon, the No. 1 Hero in Europe."
Following another lengthy silence, this time the result of genuine shock, Kirishima eventually asked, "Are you for real, man? I've never even heard of an Actualization-type Quirk..."
"Neither had I before the Principal informed me about them," appended Izuku. "But that's one of the reasons I receive so much special treatment from the school. Another is that I can use my Quirk to empower others, permitting even Quirkless individuals to become stronger, faster, or even more intelligent. That's the reason I chose the name Limit-Breaker Hero, Paragon."
"Wait, you're saying you can help us become stronger?" asked Kaminari. Then, as if a lightbulb had gone off in his brain, he leaped to his feet and shouted, "That's why the girls placed so highly in the Class Rankings! You used your Quirk to make them stronger and smarter! That's totally not fair, man...!"
Waving dismissively, Izuku said, "Calm your tits," in a relaxed tone before explaining, "There's a condition for me to use my power on others, called Bond Level. In simple terms, it represents how much the person affected by my Quirk trusts or thinks they know me. I'm on fairly decent terms with everyone here, but only four of you satisfy the conditions to join my Party and have your limits broken."
Before they could ask, Izuku pointed his finger at Kirishima, Todoroki, Shoji, and Bakugo in turn, stating, "If the four of you would like to help me prove I'm telling the truth, I can invite you to my Party. I recently received permission from the Principal, so how about it?"
Though Izuku didn't say any of their names, blue windows appeared in front of the faces of Kirishima, Todoroki, Shoji, and Bakugo. The former was more than a little surprised, emulating Kaminari's action of jumping out of the water, but the other three were completely coolheaded, even Bakugo. At least until he asked, "Is this some kind of joke...?" with his left eye beginning to twitch.
Shaking his head, Izuku replied, "It's not a holographic projection if that's what you're wondering. Just ask around. Other than the five of us, no one else can see the notification windows that just appeared."
Confirming Izuku's statement, Shinso's expression became serious as he asked, "Did a notification window really appear? Like in one of those full-dive VR games...?"
Nodding in affirmation, Todoroki calmly replied, "I've never played a full-dive VR game, but a notification definitely appeared...". Then, without any discernible hesitation, he extended his finger, pressing the 'Yes' button to become an official member of Izuku's Party.
Opening his eyes uncharacteristically wide, Todoroki asked, "Are these my stats?" before following with the question, "Is Level 30 good...?"
"It's exceptional," answered Izuku. "But the more important value is your Effective Level. It's the truer reflection of your strength since it changes based on the condition of your body and whether or not you're using your Quirk."
"I see..." muttered Todoroki, staring at his stats with a mixture of awe and severity as he intuitively understood that Free Attributes were what would allow him to strengthen himself.
Having accepted Izuku's Party invitation immediately following Todoroki, Kirishima muttered, "Whoa..." before grimacing when he noticed his Title, 'Incredibly Dense.' It boosted his Strength and Vitality, but even though he 'was' incredibly dense, he understood it wasn't a particularly flattering Title. Shoji and Todoroki fared better with their 'Tentabro' and 'Icy Hot' monikers, but Bakugo nearly had an aneurysm when he saw his 'Explosive Hero, Big Ego' epithet.
Clenching his teeth, Bakugo growled, "Deku..." while balling his hands into fists. His 94 Bond Level also pissed him off quite a bit, so it took willpower he didn't know he possessed to avoid leaping across the bath and kicking Izuku in his 'smug' face.
Pretending he hadn't heard Bakugo's utterance, Izuku began explaining the benefits of his Quirk to everyone present. Doing so caused a few more people to reach Bond Level 80, specifically Tokoyami, Ojiro, and Sato, so the evening quickly turned into one where everyone merrily discussed the ridiculousness of Izuku's Quirk...all while Mineta cried tears of blood from the corner of the boys' shared bedroom...
