"Wow! The first place is on a totally different level! A don't think even most pros would reach such record results." Said a woman.

"He took down those villains with such efficiency. Not only his speed, but his precision is incredible! Most of the other examinees were either focusing on the small ones or actively hunting for the larger ones. He performed flawlessly in both categories, applying only the necessary force to takedown his targets." Remarked another man.

"He wasn't the first to destroy that giant robot. But I never saw someone completely blow it away. I heard that not a single segment was found." Stated someone else.

"Alright, his performance was really impressive. But I found it strangely confusing. Does he have multiple quirks or some unidentified support gear?" Questioned a different voice.

Amongst all these shadowy figures, a slender and tall pale-skinned man with messy shoulder-length black hair, began pondering about the first place applicant.

With half-opened black eyes he grumbled.

Dagoba Municipal Beach Park

The night after I opened my U.A. acceptance letter.

The sky was dark, the stars were shining above with the relaxing sound of waves reaching everywhere.

All Might got in touch with me again.

As I approached the sand, the number one hero turned to face me.

"Good evening sensei!" I respectfully bowed to him.

The skeletal man raised his hand.

"Congratulations on your exam! But I gotta say, I think you almost over did a little." He commended my success while obviously remarking about my last stunt.

"Please, It's all thanks to you!" I raised my hand and clenched it. "I now possess the power to save the world!"

"You ain't kidding. From what I saw, I cannot state it enough that you did great kid. Truthfully, even I wasn't that skill in my first year using One for All. And your original quirk, you were right about it being a perfect match with it." He told me.

All Might continued. "And I'm not the only one that appreciated your prowess. Actually, I wasn't even part of the juries."

"Really glad to hear it...oh! So... you will be teaching in the U.A, how are you feeling about it?" I said.

The frail man turned to stare at the horizon. "Yeah...the school recommended that I avoid telling around before they made an official announcement. It seemed like fortuitous timing, it would serve me the best way to find another inheritor."

'Oh, that's right! You were on your way to meet Mirio!' I remembered.

"But as I was saying... Congratulations young man! You were accepted into U.A!" Toshinori proudly stated while buffing up to his giant form.

"Wait, is that All Might? C'mon! I want to ask him for an autograph!" A couple close by shouted to one another.

All Might instantly flinched. "Now we run!"

And so the both of us speeded through the beach, raising a cloud of sand behind us.

'The torch you passed on to me is already a raging inferno. I know this is what you desire, you are expecting to be outshined by me. But I know you All Might! You are so noble that you ignore your only selfish desire of being the symbol of peace to this world. If it's up to me to decide, I will surpass you, but you are still far from ending your career... I just need to figure out a few matters.' I reflect amidst our casual sprint.

...

Next day.

Aldera Junior High.

In the principal office, standing right there were me and Katsuki Bakugou.

"I can't believe we got not only one, but two students from our school that have been accepted into U.A!" Remarked the principal.

"And you Monoma. I've received astonishing high praises from you. Congratulations, you worked so hard since you began studying here.

"And you Bakugou, I knew once you take yourself more seriously you would accomplish anything you strived for."

After receiving so much praise we thanked him and left.

The bully appeared to be tired of me and simply went away without a word to me.

———————————————————

First day of class.

I just finished packing my stuff to make my way towards U.A.

Forgive my smile. I recently received an encrypted congratulations message for my admission into U.A. from my well estimated ex-criminal duo.

They appeared to finally relent to my message.

And I promised to eventually visit their coffee shop. Or was it a tea shop?

I'll figure it out when the time comes.

And so I left my empty home.

Today, I officially began my high school career.

The acceptance rate appeared to have been just as small as it has always been. Only one in three hundred.

This time, five people got in through recommendation. And only thirty-five through regular exams.

We were split in two classes with twenty students each.

I'm still curious if my interaction in the overall continuity of the test had somehow changed things already.

Walking through the halls, I finally encountered my designated class.

Class 1A.

'So... the most promising students in the country are supposed to be waiting behind that door.' Were my thoughts.

As I opened the door. The expected shouting had finally reached my ears.

"Take your feet off that desk now!" Said the four eyed boy.

"Huh?!" Snickered my childhood classmate.

"It is the first day, and you are already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property you rogue." Iida continued.

"You kidding me, right?! Your old school put a stick up your ass, or were you born with it." Was Katsuki's sneering reply.

"Argh... Let's start over..." Stated the tall boy wearing glasses while moving his arms in weird ways. "I am Tenya Iida of Somei private academy."

"Somei, Huh! So you must think you are better than me. I'm gonna have fun tearing you new one!" Bakugou kept his hostile approach.

But Iida couldn't help but to gasp. "Huh? You are threatening me? Your own classmate! Are you sure you are in the right place?"

But the sweaty explosion boy lost his interest in provoking him and just grumbled.

'Yeah, his harsh tone was a sore spot for him. I had always got him in trouble by exploring this weakness.' I remembered.

But then, both of them noticed me.

"It's him!" Said Iida.

As he remarked, everybody in the class turned their heads towards me.

Deciding to not make myself appear shy, I risked being regarded as goofy.

"Greetings and good morning everybody! My name is Neito Monoma. Let's all give our best and go Plus..."

At my cue, someone arrived just in time to shout with me.

"ULTRA!"

"ULTRA!"

"ULTRA!"

"ULTRA!"

"ULTRA!"

Thankfully, I've made a good impression when President Mic explained the tests. So, some of my classmates joined my enthusiastic shout.

I turned to look to who had just arrived, and was pleasantly surprised.

"Hello Yoarashi-San! Glad to see we made it to the same class." I said.

"Yeah! Definitely! I'm extremely honored to enter such a prestigious high school! Please, let's be friends!" He said more enthusiastically than I remembered him to be.

"Hey! It's you! I'm happy to see we are in the same class Monoma-San!" Said Ochako, who just recently arrived as well.

"Not that I'm surprised, that special move of yours was really amazing! You blew that giant robot into dust! And thank you very much for rescuing me!" She claimed enthusiastically.

'Oh great, where have I got myself into? One hyperactive classmate should have been enough.'

"You are most welcome! I'm glad to see you as well!" I blinked charmingly.

"What do you think we are doing today besides orientation? I wonder what our teachers are going to be like. I can't wait to meet everybody!" She kept talking while doing one of her cutest faces.

Inasa just continued nodding energetically at her.

Suddenly.

"If you are just here to make friends, you can pack up your stuff now." Someone said while laying down on the ground.

After the teacher said his first words, I simply smiled and responded. "But sir, why shouldn't one strive to be a more friendly hero. I mean, I see the perks of having a more private life. But you cannot argue it'd suffice for any respectable pro hero."

Aizawa simply narrowed his eyes.

"Welcome to U.A. Hero course." He said apathetically before sucking what seemed to be yogurt.

'Way to make a first impression!' I mentally joke.

As he got up, he left his camping mat. "It took 8 seconds before you all shut up. That's not gonna work, time is precious. Rational students would understand that."

I continued to speak with him. "Apologies, sir. But if you are our teacher, simply walking inside the class would have a greater effect in making us quiet down. But it seems you prefer to await and listen to our talk while laying down on the floor of the corridor. And if my clock is correct, we still have half a minute before class officially starts."

"Alright smart ass, I'm here already." He then turned his head towards the room and said. "Hello, I am Shota Aizawa. Your teacher."

"Well, it is really nice to have a pro hero teaching us." I said.

Eraser heads simply grumped at that. "You never shut up, do you?...Right, let's get to it. Put these on and head outside." He stated while retrieving a student uniform from his camping mat.

'Why does he guard them with him? Is he into those kinds of things?'

As if reading my mind the teacher stared at me but just grumbled.

And so after we were all outside, he informed us that we would perform a quirk assessment test.

"But orientation! We're gonna miss it!" Said Uraraka.

"If you really wanna make it into the big leagues, you can't waste time in pointless ceremonies!"

Most students gasped at his remark.

"Here in U.A. we are not tattered to traditions. That means I get to run my class however I see fit." He said while staring at us from the corner of his eye.

"You've been taking standardized tests for all of your lives, but you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before." He argued while showcasing what appeared to be a phone.

"The country is still trying to pretend that we are all created equal by not letting those with most power excel. It's not rational! One day, the ministry of education will learn."

"Smart ass! You managed to get the most points in the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a soft ball when you were in junior high?" He questioned me.

"Around 100 meters." I shrugged.

"Right, now try with your quirk." He ordered me.

I stood in the circle and positioned myself to throw the ball after stretching a little.

I then threw it with a fraction of One for All while also calculating the best angle and mimicking a famous athlete movement.

It burst up like a cannonball being shot at the sky.

Plus the powerful wind that was shaking everything around me.

Aizawa looked at his phone with a bored expression and showed it to everyone to see.

1000 m

"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities. It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro hero."

At his words I heard my classmates cheering.

"So you think this is fun, huh?" Aizawa asked coldly.

"You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and playtime?"

He then grinned. "Idiots. Today you are going to compete in eight different physical tests to gage your potential. Whoever comes in last has none. And will be expelled immediately."

At that, most of the students gasped.

"Like I said, I got to decide how to run my class. If that's a problem, you can head home right now." He said while showcasing his smug expression.

And now, he got the class hyped.

'Man, I really wished to just raise my hand and give up... just to see the look on his face. But that would be stupid, even for my standards.'

But someone dared to speak up. "You can't send one of us home. I mean, we just got here! Even if it wasn't the first day, it isn't fair!"

But Aizawa had an answer ready. "Oh and you think natural disasters are fair, hum? Or power hungry villains? Or catastrophic disasters that wipe out whole cities? No! The world is full of unfairness! It's a hero job to try to combat that unfairness. If you want to be a pro, you will have to push yourself to the brink. In the next three years, U.A will throw you one terrible hardship after another. So go beyond. Plus Ultra style. Show me it's no mistake that you are here."

As everyone was cheering up the teacher continued. "Now then, we are wasting time. Let the games begin."

And so they have.

Inasa was really impressive considering he was still much inexperienced compared to how he would eventually end up in the license exam.

Bakugou was even more frustrated, but to his credit, he did better than in the canon at this point.

He just had a hateful stare when he saw me using One for All. He wasn't dumb, Katsuki probably figured out with whom I got it.

In Todoroki's case, he simply kept using only the necessary amount of effort to not be the last one.

Even the rest of the class did pretty good as well.

My final results were:

•50 meters in 1 second

'A swift dash was more than enough to gain a good result.'

•Grip strength: 1000 kg

'Nothing exceptional. I only wished to be the best by a large margin.'

•Long jump: jumped over the runway zone.

'Really anti-climatic.'

•Sideway jumps: 1000 in one minute

'Trying to impersonate Saitama during his hero test. Can't blame me for trying.'

•Distance run.

'First place.'

•Sit-ups.

'Several times faster than the others.'

•Seated toe touch

'Just a matter of flexibility.'

In the end, I noticed multiple stares of awe, hostility and even some calculating eyes.

The last case being strictly from the hot and cold boy.

"Alright, time to give you your results. I ranked you all from best to worst. You should probably have a good idea of where you are standing already. I'll just pull the whole list, it's not worth going from each individual score." Said the teacher.

After a brief instant of showing the results, Aisawa simply turned it off and said. "And I was lying, no one is going home."

Most of the students were stunned for a while.

"That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all in the tests."

"I'm surprised the rest of you didn't figure that out. I'm sorry, I guess I should have probably said something." Said Momo, trying to avoid showing her smug face.

"You must be kidding." Said Yui Koda with her regular poker face.

Yosetsu simply sighted while scratching his head.

"I'm always ready for a challenge!" Said Kirishima fist bumping himself.

"Yeah! Me too!" Shouted Inasa.

Bakugou grumbled as if disappointed at his teacher or perhaps at him for not being number one.

"That's it, we are done for the day..." As he began leaving, the students were calming down. "Things will get tougher tomorrow, when your actual training begins."

And so with these last words, I survived my first day.

Got to admit that I had some fun.

My class was different from what class 1A was supposed to be.

Whilst I pondered to myself while making my way to return home, someone spoke to me.

"Hey Monoma! You were really awesome! How did you train yourself to that level?"

And so my energetic friend arrived.

"Well, thanks. You too! I'm really curious to know how you learned to manipulate the wind with such skill. My training up until now was simply exercising my body and aiding my neighborhood in any way I could."

His eyes began to shine. "I knew I recognized you from somewhere. You are All Might's disciple, aren't you? Your passion in helping others is inspiring."

"Yes, I guess that would be me. And thanks again dude. So... what'd be your opinion about U.A?"

Inasa finally quiet down and replied. "I'm truly impressed with the quality in their teaching. Aizawa sensei made me question for a while what was his purpose in threatening us to give our best. But I'm really glad our class is so capable and at the same time I look forward to seeing our progress in becoming real heroes."

'Well, that's a really deep thought you had over that situation. I can't forget that like Bakugou, you are more than meets the eyes.' I thought before saying with a smile. "Yeah, you are right."

"But hey, when will we have our spar? I'm really interested in seeing how I will fare against you quirk." As he was about to question me, other classmates approached us.

"Hey wait up two! Are you heading towards the station? I'm coming with you guys!" Shouted Uraraka gleefully.

"Hey there infinity girl!" I greeted her.

At my nickname she smiled while blushing a little.

Along with her, came the redhead with big hands quirk and the boy with a zig-zag patterned headband.

"I apologize for intruding, but would you guys mind if we go with you as well?" Asked Itsuka Kendo respectfully.

"Sure, I see no problem with that." I replied casually. 'As long as you keep those hands to yourself.' I couldn't resist remarking mentally.

"Don't mind me. I'll just tag along." Added Yosetsu Awase with his arms crossed.

Even Tenya Iida joined us.

And so we finally made our way out of U.A.

To be honest, I didn't expect much from my first day.

Had I said that already? Well, who cares?!

Anyway, luckily I'm already making some friends. It will make things easier in the future.

As we kept our pace, the six of us chatted about our quirks and some of our hobbies.

I dodged some questions regarding my quirk.

I know it won't take long for them to learn about it, but I will hold this information for now.

———————————————————

U.A's hero course curriculum.

There are normal core classes like English in the mornings.

Funnily enough, President Mic was the one teaching us on this subject.

Had to recognize his charisma while delivering his engrish lines.

But I digress.

After the class everyone considered it boring, we ate lunch in the main cafeteria.

I tried to look out for Mirio, but hadn't met him there yet.

Regardless...

There, one could find the cook hero, Lunch Rush.

Quite a lame name...But who am I to judge.

I suck at naming things.

Anyway...Boy let me tell you how much I loved his food.

Like... a lot.

Sorry, it's not something I'm able to translate into words.

And then, in the afternoon, it was finally time.

Hero basic training.

"I AM HERE! COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A HERO!" Said the number one hero as he made his show to the students.

I will skip the minor details.

Things like most students being enthusiastic at his presence and as All might begin to introduce his subject to the class.

Today, we will fight!

And to do so, our own hero costumes were being offered for us to wear.

"Get yourselves suited up, and meet me in the training ground beta." Ordered All Might followed by the class responding in agreement.

'Training ground beta? Cool, time to get nostalgic.' I just smiled.
