1 month later…

The instructors like him surprisingly because he doesn't complain when they are exercising or how "hard" it is, all that jazz that 8-year-olds complain about when they feel a hint of pain. This pain doesn't even compare to the numerous times his body has broken down and restored itself in a day.

Because of his ability and my hard work, he has now caught up with the senior students that are in his age group. He learned all the basic karate moves and throws and is starting to learn the advanced moves and the natural combos that one can combine.

But the most important thing that he learned was that there was a tournament soon.

They usually have an annual tournament soon in collaboration with some other dojos around Tokyo, in about 2 weeks, and the prize was about $500 dollars in Japanese Yen.

Grinning at the news, he thought to himself as they warmed up from today's training.

'I can kill two birds with one stone and proceed with Money-Making Plan™️'s Step 2.'

"Jin, can you come here for a second?" The instructor said to him.

"Sure?" Following the instructor to the 12–15-year-old section of the dojo, they stop as the instructor asked.

"You have been improving at an incredible rate. I want you to spar against them to gauge the level that you are at for the tournament."

… Perfect…

"Sure."

And… They paired him with a huge cocky kid. Sigh… Why?

"So, you're the runt that everyone's been talking about? You don't look like much. I bet that I can K.O. you in a punch!" The teenager boasted as he flexed his biceps, showing his arm muscles.

'Wow, those are small.' He thought to himself as they walked to an available sparring space.

Once they were ready in their spaces with their respective gears, the instructor signaled the start of the fight.

"Ready? …Fight!"

"Haaaaa!" The kid rushes while yelling at Gohru, who had a confused look on his face.

Isn't it a universal fighting rule to not yell out an attack? And he has so many openings, it was almost a joke. Did the kid really get his Red Belt from physical strength?

Waiting until the last minute, Gohru sidesteps the kid's right punch to the left. Grabbing onto the kid's gi collar, he uses his right leg to throw a powerful low kick that disrupts the balance of the kid before using the collar to push the boy to the ground.

BANG!

Gohru turned to look at the shocked face of the instructors.

"Is that all? That was boring. Sensei, give me someone better!"

The main instructor's eyes were shining with money symbols on his eyes, and when Gohru saw them, he smirked.

'Hook. Line. And Sink.'

After he beat a few more students using throws, they stopped me and told me to relax for a while. Listening to them debate whether to let me fight with the older 17–18-year-olds, he mentally scoffed at their suggestions.

'They are like twice my height, and you are suggesting it without much of a thought?'

He was fine with fighting the older students since he could soak up more techniques and experience. Experience is the focus here since with experience, a weak person could be the stronger one when comparing two fighters.

An example of experience being the most important factor in a fight is Archer from Fate/Stay Night. More specifically, his skill, Eye of the Mind. Even if he is weaker than every Servant (other than Caster), Archer is able to keep up toe to toe with them, especially in the fight with Lancer.

Eye of the Mind, or the English translation, Mind's Eye is capable of calm analysis of the battle conditions even in danger, and Archer can make the best course of action after considering all possibilities. That skill can only be replicated in real life when one fights and gains experience. That is one of the reasons why he decided to join dojos, to replicate Eye of the Mind.

His thoughts were interrupted when one of the main instructors called for him.

"Ahem. Jin-san, well done defeating students stronger than you! You are very talented. Say, tomorrow, when you come, why don't you fight one of the black belt students, and we film it? It'll help you be a hero if you become famous for it!"

The instructor said with the fakest smile he'd ever seen. And he could see the intent of the "filming". If he became famous, the dojo would be famous and more people would join, earning more money from it. He had honestly thought that they would ask this maybe after a few more months, but damn, they were greedier than he thought!

How did he predict that they would take advantage of him? A few aspects.

1st, He planned to ask the instructor to fight the older students to make them see his potential.

2nd, he chose this dojo because of the low ratings online and the poor state of the dojo outside, meaning they were greedy for more potential money-making schemes.

'Greed is the easiest thing to manipulate in this world. Oh, instructor. You think you're taking advantage of me, but the one whose taking advantage is me, Kono Gohru Da!'

"Alright! If this will make me a Hero, then I'll do it!"

Money-Making Plan™️ Step 1 officially starts now! Hehehehe…

He starts to think about the strategy to get more famous with this performance while fiddling his belt, trying to think of ways to make it more "viral".

'Maybe a flying kick? No, the guy would just react to it. A reverse kick to the head? That could work, but I need a K.O. and that doesn't have enough power. A reverse 360° turning kick? I've never tried it before.'

"Hmmm…"

"Jin, are you ready?"

"Oh, yes, sensei!" Walking out of the locker room, his eyebrow raised as he sees the number of adults in the dojo today. Usually, there were 4 instructors, but today there were 11 of them, each wearing a different logo on their gi.

'They must be the dojos that collaborate with this one.'

Good, that means more people can see how "talented" I am, and that means more tournaments and fame.

Looking at my opponent who had already worn his protective gear, I walked to the sparring area and wore my gear.

"I saw the matches you had yesterday. You're good." The 17-year-old boy (He thinks he's 17) praised before raising his hand. Meeting the hand, the boy's smile widened.

"Nice grip. You work out?"

"A little, senpai."

"Hmm… That's good. Kami knows that most kids these days rely on their Quirks too much." He muttered, which Gohru nodded agreeing with the statement, as the both of them looked at the readied camera.

"Damn adults, thinking to suck the fame out of you…"

'Oh, so he noticed too? Not bad.'

"Oh, right. I forgot. I'm Hirose Kenichi. Nice to meet you, Jin."

"Nice to meet you too, senpai."

'Well, he's nice at least. Better than all those self-centric students in this dojo.'

Once I was done, we walked to the middle of the sparring area. Standing in our respective spaces, one of the main instructors started commentating.

"Good afternoon! Today, our up-and-coming talent, Jin Gohru, age 8, is about to face our ace student who's twice his age, Hirose Kenichi!" He says into the mic as the invigilator raises his hand, signaling us to get ready.

I got into my stance, a forward-leaning stance with my left hand raised up to the same level as my face while the other vertically to my ribs. This, to me, was the most comfortable stance that provided the best defense and offense capabilities using both arms and legs.

Kenichi however went with a cat-foot stance, where all weight rests on the back leg which was bent at the knee while the front foot was facing forward at a 30° angle with only the toes touching the ground. He had his arms up in a closed guard too, signifying that he was going to prioritize using his legs mostly.

"Ready?" The invigilator looked at the both of us before swinging his raised arm down.

"Begin!"
