Fret not, this world is one with cultivation. Although there’s just a few days before my uneventful death, I can do something with my cultivation and—ah, my body can’t even do cultivation now, can it? It seems like my luck wasn't that good. Instead, I’ve been riddled with numerous misfortunes. However, don’t think that I’ll give up on this precious second chance that fate bestowed upon me. My intention is to survive. And I’m willing to do anything for it! *** [Note: The artwork in my cover does not belong to me. So, I'll be taking it off if the original artist asks me to do so.] Cover edit: ZinonWonder

Zhang Wei, you are strong!

Few hours ago; the lone servant of the Blue Moon Sect, Zhang Wei nonchalantly walked away from the trashy brat of the sect, Hua Liu. He promised her that he won't follow her. Honestly, it was a win-win situation for him… Or at least, it should've been. However, recently he felt as if the lady had changed her demeanor. Sure, she still spent her money carelessly into buying a lot of talismans and qi pills and decided to take on this trip for some reason, but even then he felt as if she knew what she was doing, unlike her previous self. He felt as if the lady's behavior had drastically changed. He had been by her side during this entire journey and never had she used money for leisure.

Instead, the first time she took out the money for anything other than paying her expenses was when she handed ten gold coins to him, asking him to leave. If this was a year ago, hell, if this situation arose at the time they started this journey, Zhang Wei would've easily agreed to this. However, with a changed perspective, he felt the urge to stay by the lady's side and protect her, not just for the lady herself, but for her family who placed their trust on him.

However, since the lady seemed eager to let him go, he decided to act as if that's what he wanted all along. And once the lady took her eyes away from him, Zhang Wei hid himself in the forest, taking notes of every move that the lady made.

Even though that's what he decided on, he couldn't even see the lady once she entered the forest. It was that dark! However, he used the night vision technique that he learned to check upon her. However, before he could get a whiff of the lady, he met up with a monster-like creature which lurked in the dark like a skillful assassin. And this freaked him out. Not because it was a monster, but because a woman who couldn't even cultivate was stuck here without a decent protection. Sure, she did have the talismans, however, with the sheer amount of monsters surrounding this forest, he was sure that the talismans would deplete sooner or later. So, he focused to his very limit to find the monster qi and killed the monsters one by one.

And by the time he killed all the monsters and reached near the lady, the light was already back. One thing surprised him though. It was that the lady was unscathed. However, he thought that maybe the monsters were attracted by his Qi-rich body rather than the lady's Qi-less body. So, he was kinda proud of beating the monsters singlehandedly and protecting the lady.

However, his pride was shattered when a huge monster appeared right beside the lady, with intense blood lust seeping through its Qi. Even if he moved as fast as he could towards the lady, there was no chance that he could protect her. He was in despair. He felt that he was all about big words and no substance. He couldn't do anything. He desperately hoped for a miracle.

And the miracle did happen. The lady passed by the monster without even batting an eye towards it. And the monster, instead of chasing her, chased Zhang Wei. This surprised the heck out of him. He thought maybe if he used the same strategy, he wouldn't have to fight the monster. However, when he did try, the monster kicked his ass. So, he got up to fight instead.

And so the journey continued with the lady strolling the forest without being concerned about her surroundings and Zhang Wei desperately fighting his way through. Since his earlier deduction was wrong, he deduced that these monsters were being attracted to his Qi and attacking him. So, if he was to go down, that would mean that the lady's in danger instead. This thought gave him sufficient willpower to bulldoze through the monster horde. And without his knowledge, he grew strong little by little.

In the end, they reached before a cave. The lady looked silently for a while before taking a step towards the cave. However, as soon as she stepped in, a humongous amount of monsters appeared from all sides. They were surrounded. Even though he felt as if he grew a little more powerful, he couldn't envision a scenario where he could win. And with the handicap of having to protect someone whilst fighting, the victory seemed even farther. Therefore, he had just a singular option before him- escape! Grab the lady and run for it and sincerely hope that the monster would stop chasing them.

So, he jumped out and asked the lady to escape with him. However, the lady looked at him as if he was spouting nonsense. For some reason, she asked him about the whereabouts of the monster even though it was standing right before her. And when he did point the monster out, she started laughing hysterically, like a crazy old woman. Zhang Wei was utterly confused.

Damn! It all makes sense now! It's an illusion that only certain people could see. I don't know why I couldn't see, but I think that's related to my Qi. I'll have to check that later.

"What are you doing, my lady? Let's run away!" Zhang Wei was absolutely bewildered. The expression in his face was funny to see. Ah, to think that the guy actually followed me up here and he had to fight those monsters all the way till here was really admirable. Maybe, he was afraid of the backlash he might get if he went back without me? I guess that's it. Well, I guess maybe I should act a bit out?

"And why would I do that?" I asked bluntly. I had no reason to run anyway!

"My lady! The monsters! I can't beat this horde, unlike before. So, they might attack you after I'm down! I don't want that!" He screamed. I felt the sincerity in his voice. So, the emotion crept up to me too, even though I was fully aware that the imaginary monster wasn't gonna attack me.

I sighed. "I believe you can beat the monsters yourself, Zhang Wei! You are strong!" I smiled. Even though Zhang Wei wasn't Qiu Si strong, he was pretty strong himself. So, I kinda believed in him. And even if he got knocked out, he'll be sent to the starting point instead. I know for a fact that this isn't a death stage. However, that could change since this isn't a game after all.

"But…" Zhang Wei was hesitating. Of course, he is! After all, the monsters are as strong as him or one level before him. So,if he had to win, he needed some extra ammunition. And I had just the thing.

"Zhang Wei! If you don't believe in yourself, then who will? And also, I'm not leaving this place without entering the cave. Here, catch this!" I threw my entire stacks of talismans towards him. "This is for when you start to doubt your own capabilities. I hope you don't have to use it though. I wanna see you win with your own skills!" I riled him up a bit with my supporting tone. If you ask me, I believe he could win easily if he used talismans. Although, I would like to know how many he can defeat with his brute strength! It's his own choice.

And it seemed like my words of wisdom had a little too much magic! Zhang Wei was on the verge of tears when I threw the talisman towards him. "My lady! Thank you for believing me! I'll defeat them with my own capabilities!" He proclaimed.

"Good. Go for it, Zhang Wei!" And with this, I believe that he could get even stronger than before. When I saw him defeating tens of monsters within two or three blows, I was finally relieved and decided to enter the cave.

Once I entered the cave, the front of the cave closed automatically and now I had no chance to step back. I could see Zhang Wei running towards me when it closed, but he couldn't reach me on time, so he had no choice but to stay on the other side. And I don't think the cave allows two people at once. I don't know why, but when I tried entering the cave as Qiu Si in my fifth try through the DLC, the cave front closed even faster. The developers were so adamant of not revealing the secret of the cave.

However, that doesn't matter now, does it? After all, I'm finally inside the cave that many gamers wanted to step foot in, even though the DLC in itself wasn't that great.I couldn't help but snicker as I walked through the dark path.

Finally, I could see the light on the end of the path and I ran towards it. The thing that I was searching for is right at the end and I'd finally be able to get my Qi center fixed. So, I was really excited.

However, I never would've expected to see the stuff before me in a million years!
