[16] Tokyo

Gazing out of the window, Izumo was silently enjoying the flashing scenery as the train whizzed forward to his destination, towards Tokyo.

His purpose for coming there was to enroll in a school called Kazamizawa High School as well as to scout his apartment room.

And from what he knows, it's a relatively normal school that focuses more a bit on the sports side.

Furthermore, It's famed for having quite a strong track club.

Well, that's what he was told anyway...

He could only confirm whether the information was true or not after seeing it for himself.

While he was waiting for the train to reach Tokyo, Izumo was looking through his system panel with a hint of anticipation.

[Points: 101]

It was a shame that he hadn't had time to open a chest considering he was quite busy for the past few weeks.

After all, he had to review for his entrance exams plus graduation just finished which distracted him for a bit.

But now, he finally had some time to spare, and with an excited look on his face, he selected a silver chest.

Not long after, a virtual silver chest appeared in front of him, and opened it as a familiar blinding light erupted out of it.

[Received Talent: Spatial Awareness]

"Huh..."

Izumo was dumbfounded for a moment before an amused chuckle escaped from his mouth.

In fact, there wasn't even a need for him to see what its description was as everyone who had read Blue Lock already knew what it was.

"That's... interesting, very interesting"

Izumo never expected to acquire the talent he had sought after since the very first day.

He thought that he needed to open a gold chest before he could receive one but it seems he was wrong.

And now, due to this...

The possibilities for plays widen inside his mind with the addition of spatial awareness.

Eagles Eyes x Spatial Awareness

The potential chemical reaction between these two talents was something Izumo wanted to see, no...

It was something he needed to see.

Perhaps he could even add the talent, [Parallel Thought] to the mix to liven things up.

[Talent: Parallel Thought]

[Description: The talent that allowed one's different matters to be thought about simultaneously]

Indeed, with the parallel thought for support, the eagle eyes to scan, and the spatial awareness to analyze...

It might just be possible to acquire meta-vision early on.

After all, if Itoshi Sae could learn it before the other Blue Lock players then he too should be able to do it.

He doesn't believe that he's any worse than him.

And as long as he knows the theory behind the skill itself then his confident enough to increase the odds of acquiring it.

"Haha, this is amazing!"

Izumo laughed out loud, smiling from ear to ear at the prospect of learning meta-vision. Luckily, the inside of the train was quite desolate or he might just be treated as a lunatic by everyone.

Still, his excitement was quite normal considering it is meta-vision after all, even if it was just a mere possibility.

However, the one thing he was worried about was whether or not he could handle the mental strain...

Or whether he has enough stamina to last long for a full 90-minute match.

He knew after all the huge consumption of stamina regarding the use of meta-vision.

And he estimated that he needed to at least increase his stamina to the level of S-grade before he could use it with ease.

'Hm, I suppose it's time to do some hellish training'

Izumo thought, planning a comprehensive stamina workout inside his mind.

And for about an hour or so, he kept looking through his phone, googling for a suitable workout when the train chimed, signaling the arrival to Tokyo.

"Oh..."

Izumo was momentarily surprised before he calmed down and put back his phone as he stood up and exited the train.

And as he did so, he glanced around as if he was looking for someone when a middle-aged man suddenly called out to him.

"Izumo Kizashi?"

"Ah, yes... that's me"

"Thank god, I thought I got the wrong person"

The middle-aged let out a sigh of relief and brushed the back of his head, thankful that he got the right person.

"Are you... perhaps, my father's friend that he talked about?"

"Ah! I am, sorry... I'm Masami Kondou, nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you as well"

Both Izumo and Kondou shook hands and smiled at each other.

'He seems like a good kid'

Kondou thought and smiled inwardly, seeing the kid was polite and well-mannered.

Usually, kids these days were too bold or just didn't have any respect for people like him anymore which was why he was a bit surprised when interacting with Izumo.

'He's just like his father'

Kondou thought, seeing a few resemblances and similarities in his appearance to his good friend.

"Oh, right... may I ask how you and my father met?"

Izumo suddenly asked, staring at Kondou with an unusual light in his eyes.

'How strange... have I seen him before?'

Izumo thought as for some reason, he felt a sense of familiarity after seeing his face, especially hearing his name.

There were, after all, only a few individuals whom he had felt the same sort of feeling emerged from him...

And all of them happened to be important characters such as Karasu and Aiku.

This was why he subtly asked about Kondou's past, trying to gauge information out of him to determine his identity.

'I don't recall any characters with his name on the Blue Lock manga though'

Izumo silently brushed his chin, pondering inside his mind with an interested look on his face.

Meanwhile, unaware of Izumo's thoughts, Kondou happily recounts his past with his father.

"Your father and I used to attend the same university..."

"..."

"...And having the same interest, we became friends and formed a group of like-minded people, pursuing literacy"

"Literacy? You mean, father used to be a writer?"

Kondou nodded in response and heartily laughed, seeing the surprised look on Izumo's face.

On the other hand, Izumo couldn't believe that his lazy ass of a father was once a writer which was earth-shattering news for him.

"I see... does that mean, you're a novelist?"

"..."

Hearing Izumo's words, Kondou went quiet and felt uncomfortable as he couldn't help but scratch his cheeks awkwardly.

"Ah... no, I'm just a manager of a family restaurant"

Now it was Izumo's turn to feel awkward since it seemed, he stumbled upon a sensitive topic he shouldn't have asked.

Still, at least he now knew a bit of information regarding this guy's background.

'An aspiring novelist... and a manager of some restaurant'

Izumo thought, feeling even more annoyed as he couldn't recall any related character at all with this description in Blue Lock.

'Screw it, I'll worry about this in the future'

Izumo shook his head and decided to put the thought to the back of his head, planning to investigate it later.

For now, he'll focus on what's important...

Passing the entrance exam.
