ONE STEP ONE PUNCH

"So, what are we doing after now?" asked Kat as we left the movie theatre.

"Let's wait for Enri and Grey, then we'll go to the amusement park" I said.

"Hey, have you guys been waiting long?" asked Enri as he met us standing as we talked to each other.

"No, we just got here" said Kat as she glanced at Cynthia, because of every one was in a slight hurry Kat, Cynthia and Susanne didn't get to talk much.

"Where's Grey?" asked Enri as he looked around.

"I don't know, they should be out by now?" I said as I pulled out my phone from my pocket, "I'll give him a call" I said.

Meanwhile,

Breaking News, a huge monster was sited half an hour ago after the meteorite 'Jumble', crash landed into the sea, as it emerged from the sea. The monster of unknown origins was seen moving towards Victoria Island at a fast speed. This is a footage recorded by a passerby who happened to catch the monster on camera.

Screens all over the country now showed the same video, on all the different stations a similar news was being reported.

"He's not picking up" I said after trying his line consecutive times.

"Hmm… it might be nothing, he usually does not answer his phone easily except when his mom calls or Susanne" said Enri.

"Yeah that's right" I said, "Let's go?" I suggested.

We had finally hailed a cab, before Enri tapped me on the shoulder rapidly before showing me his news feed being completely taken over by a single news, "Monster siting near Victoria Island".

"When did this news appear?" I asked.

"From the comments I estimate about thirty minutes after the movie started" replied Enri.

"That's not far from here, call Grey while I call Cynthia" I said as I took out my phone.

The cab driver left after Cynthia apologized for taking his time.

"Blue, why didn't you tell me about this news?" I asked.

"I didn't think it was that important" replied Blue. Right now, he was no longer in his usual suit with his pipe in his mouth, he instead had a kind of body armor on, colored Blue and white. From its appearance the armor was body fitted almost like Spiderman's which was snug on the body.

"What happened to you?" I asked surprised by his new outfit.

"Nothing" he said before disappearing, his voice lingered on as he said, "You should make sure your friends are far away from here soon".

"Did you manage to connect with Grey, because I can't reach Cynthia" I said.

"No" replied Enri.

"Keep trying" I urged.

I didn't even know when I started to have this weird foreboding that Grey was in danger no matter how hard I tried to shake the feeling it didn't go away.

"Hello, Grey can you hear me?" asked Enri as Grey phone was finally connected.

"Yeah, I can" replied Grey from the other end of the call.

"Where are you guys?" asked Enri, "Hyla's worried since we didn't see you guys" he said.

"We're stuck halfway to Victoria island, there's a monster and everybody's running" said Grey.

"What about Susanne" screamed Kat over the phone.

"Tell Kat she's alright, we're together right now" he said, "You guys should probably get back to the campus because that monster is…." He said before his, line got cut off.

"Grey!!! Grey!" screamed Enri into the phone.

"What happened?" I asked seeing Enri's reaction.

"It's Grey, he said they are stuck halfway to Victoria Island and everybody's running away, Susanne's with him" he said.

"That's good" I thought.

"But…" continued Enri,

"But what?" I asked as cold sweat dripped down my face.

"We suddenly disconnected as he was about to say something important" said Enri.

"What?" I screamed. "This can't be happening, what do I do?" in a single second I found myself thinking about what to do before I was interrupted by Blue.

"Don't think too much about it, get your friends out of here first" he said, "I'll try to track Grey down" said Blue as he looked at me seriously.

"Ok" I said as I pulled myself together.

Taking a breath, I realized that all I could do right now was to make sure Enri, Cynthia and Kat were safe.

"You guys should go" I said as I looked at Enri, "I'll go and look for Grey" I said.

"You can't be serious?" said Enri, "Do you think I'm going to let you go kill yourself?" asked Enri angry.

"I have to look for Grey" I said.

"I'm pretty sure Grey would be against the idea of you looking for him in such a situation" said Enri as he blocked my path.

"You don't understand, I have to look for him" I said as I pushed Enri out of my way.

"Dude, relax" said Enri, "I understand how you feel but stop and think for a moment" he said.

"It's alright, I'll be okay" I said looking him in the eyes.

"Are you sure?" asked Enri, the short time we had been together Enri knew that once I made a decision there was changing it.

"I will" I answered as I broke out into a run.

"Let's go" said Enri as he got a cab for them to leave in.

"Why didn't you stop him?" asked Kat with a sour expression on her face, "What about Hyla?" asked Kat.

"Don't worry he'll be alright" said Enri as he watched me run.

I had obviously been running at a normal speed since If I was to run at my max speed, it would appear as if I was nothing but a shadowy blur.

Looking back, I saw that they were already in the cab so I held nothing back as I ran, people would only see the blurry image of clothes accompanied by the breeze wherever I passed.

"I have his location" said Blue as he projected a map for me to see as it displayed a blue dot marking Grey's location.

"What about the alien?" I asked.

"He should be somewhere here" replied Blue as he added a red dot on the map showing where it was.

"Okay, how long do you think it would take me to get there?" I asked.

"Ten minutes" he said before disappearing.

That was the only sound I heard as I ran, every single minute that passed by felt like an hour to me. I wondered whether or not I could get there on time.

I got closer as I was not even far away from Grey's location I started to slow down as I scanned for Grey with my eyes.

Boom!!!

The Building to the left was instantly blown away as debris was sent flying everywhere.

I finally saw it; It was a huge monster about Twenty-Four feet tall and had a girth about twelve feet wide, with cold and intelligent eyes, it looked at me upon detecting my presence. It stared at me before looking down.

Following its gaze, I saw Grey who was supporting Susanne to walk was being stared at as it slowly stretched its massive hand to grab Grey.

"No!!!!" I screamed as I saw it make its move.

"I need to get there fast" I thought knowing fully well that even with my max speed I would not be able to get there in time.

"I can't let this happen, no way" I said to myself.

During all my time training I never once used any of the skills Blue had given me so I didn't know how powerful they were, without hesitating I activated 'Hermes Wings'.

Hermes Wings!!!

Instantly Blue light materialized out of thin air as they formed a pair of wings on both my feet, like those depicted in Greek mythology about the god Hermes who was believed to have wings on his feet.

Sou!!

In a single step I found myself right in front of the huge monster whose hands were inches away from touching Grey.

My wave punch had already been upgraded to the fourth level but I had never used it, same as Hermes Wings.

I instantly activated Wave Punch as I executed a right hook, sending the monster flying back, wasting no time I disappeared from where I was standing to appear right in front of it.

Looking at its eyes I could see the shock hidden in it, seizing that opportunity I punched it once more as I sent it crashing into the tarred road.

"Nobody, I mean nobody messes with my family!!!" I said as I walked towards the monster as it tried to stand up.
