Blue Eden: Iron Children

Notice: [Currently not updating due to personal reasons, I hope you understand.] Seven countries divided by seven gods of iron, an authority none challenge in the age of metallic life. The magic once in every leaf and stone is long but drained with the death of the dwarves and the birth of machines like none other. For over a thousand years they’ve ruled with nobody foolish enough to challenge them for the thrones. Lena was the same, young and hunting her dreams before being dragged into a nightmare of terrorists and secrets by a robot that slept for a thousand years. Dynamo, one of the last ties to the mad inventor, awoke in a foreign world where he seeks out these new predators in their reach for power across the continents. Ghosts from the past. Terrorists fueled on dreams. Monsters and magic still thrive in this world lusting over the secrets of a madman and the world beyond. The secret of what sits on the sky.

"Wew….that was something else," Dynamo spun the canisters of lethal origins around his fingers before being reprimanded by Draglion. Project silverization was inscribed in black letters across the tube. Dynamo recalled that name. The shark spoke of it long before. Now half a crate of the stuff was caught and undergoing investigation. The moment the group of four exited the Destria depths reports were made to the PD with all but one canister seized; the remaining shipped to the medical foundation.

Draglion chose to accompany Dynamo and Lena, Daedra had other duties at the forefront of his mind. With a wave of the hand before the police station, he headed off to one of the tallest towers in the district. Trailing south down for the commission's building was home to their prey. To harass his darling sister of course. But to the rest who remained in the foundation, an evil aura loomed overhead.

Dynamo stood in the backrooms with his accompaniment in the form of a dragon and Lena. Both were forced into the same safety suits as other humans, the only reason they were even present was due to forced permission by the PD and ruling Dyson, "They couldn't find anything bigger?" Draglion grew uncomfortable to the confirming. To get a suit around his body three were cut in half and sewn back in one large hazmat suit; even then his wings and tail were stuck to his body. He leaned against the corner with the top of his head brushing the ceiling.

"We'll not everything comes in your size," Dynamo was hesitant. They laid in wait now of what secrets these things held- the source of the port disease by any regard. They were far smaller in comparison to any other nanomachine. C.C.5, the standard measure smaller than a blood cell was double their size, "Whoever is making these things has some steady hands..." he scratched the back of his head. Similarities existed with initial comparisons of the machines, structure, and design similar to the hungry bugs. Though it was hard to believe there was any medical service in these. "Did they get anything on Pat yet?"

Lena's eyes were glued to the floor in thought. She gave no answer, patient over the ones who carried important tasks. Why was she even here again? Just to sit and let others take over for her? "Eh, why couldn't I just head to Lucki's place for a while?"

"Hmm?" Draglion chimed, "You're willing to see her knowing full well Daedra is there, after his greeting to you I'd presume you'd keep some distance," the dragon pointed out some obvious facts. Hardly anything else was left for him to do once confined in such a small net, "Hmm...wings like mine are meant to spread free under these nights-"

"Then go on a flight then," Dynamo didn't linger on matters, same said for his sharp tongue. He was too focused on the machines and computers doing their analysis. The meters progressed. With a sigh he distanced himself to get closer to the work. In the middle of the test facility were two samples of the nanomachines in separate trays. Both were trapped under glass with entrances sealed by gloves where the imported doctors worked. A camera attached to the end of the glove shone into the trays revealing their actions on a microscopic level. Slowly the hungry bugs were deposited in a third dish alongside the silverization brand.

They were tiny octagons with legs and orange sensory ligaments as opposed to white bodies. Neither parted from their corner. The silver agents detected the foreigners. They moved like a swarm encompassing the entire dish. A microscopic war of voices unheard. Ants to the hungry bugs swarmed in every direction. At the base of their builds was a similar mouth that gnawed; every nibble followed by a molten mix exiting their mouths. These hungry bugs stood no chance. The groups didn't call off the experiment. A few menial machines were eaten alive, no qualms were granted in such a minor case. Their sacrifice would be for the betterment of the apex.

Of the few thousand, they became a hundred. A hundred were swarmed. Then there was one, it became none. Not a morsel left; even piranhas left behind bones...not these anomalies. Well, something remained, "That's…" a fine powder peeled off the droids. Silver dust from their molten mess. If they weren't in a combative situation, why were they still producing more? How were they still outputting? "They're eating each other."

None cared for their neighbor over their stomach. Like beasts, they gorged and puked back a silver concoction made by encrypted reactions. The feed was recorded as others held their mouths, "They're taking up a bigger surface area than they let on," Draglion commented on the feed, "What is this?"

"Maybe they're just a superdense metal.." Dynamo threw out suggestions. Both of his eyes went completely white, "No...that's not right either," neither an ounce of his brainpower nor the minds of any otherwise enough in that room was about to go to waste.

"It has a similar mass to the hungry bugs, but the scaling would be negligible," one of the doctors beside Dynamo spoke up. He held gloved hands in the box, ripping both out and sending them to get incinerated, "It could be a chemical reaction from the inside, but unheard of on such a small scale." Furnace and mineral processor droids weren't the most uncommon things in the world. Eating chunks of raw iron and converting it into steel. However...it converted kosmik into silver on a first look. "Give it some time."

"Time…." Lena grew restless. Her breath stilted. Zenith had cracked a code, Patrick came close to understanding that too, didn't he? He found something. It would take another ten minutes just to understand the results. Dynamo snapped his fingers. He whispered in the ear of the crouched dragon whose eye reverted into slits. Draglion nodded, his slits returned to the dish. Dynamo, however, decided to continue forward to the corner. Fingers adjusted his speaker volume and eyes shifted across every agent that could fathom their conversation. Their finger trailed the girl along through it all.

Fingers pulled on each other from their owner's other arm. Teeth bit down with truth coming to light of a possibility beyond understanding. "If this is Zenith's doing, then I have a big hunch on what this thing exactly is..." he was fishy of the scene. Gotche sent these agents...but who knows if a volunteer had malware or not. "It's an art used by the Destrias- Now Dysons use it as well. Mixing and merging, casting and compression...and a whole lot of plutonium into creating a different form of metal."

"They could squeeze a block of cast iron down to the size of your tooth and have its weight remain low while having an impossible density- a theoretical impossibility," he gushed over the bodies of dead bloodlines once more.

"But they somehow managed to do it," Lena didn't sound impressed one bit, "Yeah, surprise surprise, one of the two smartest families in the world managed to crack some impossible secret ninety-nine percent of others couldn't manage to do. Who would have thought?" sarcasm was at the forefront of her tone and folded arms. A dead stare with tapping heel. "Yeah, some other lost secret that all you old people know...about? What's with the look?"

She was met a mirror reaction. He was unimpressed by such a lackadaisical response, "At least pretend to respect my parents, geez" the droid whined, "How'd you feel if I went off and said Wilson was just a below-average fisherman? Wouldn't feel nice now, would it?" the comparison rubbed him the wrong way with a huff. "Ah wait no that's too mean…"

"Back to the point…" as both bickered, Draglion enjoyed the commotion from a safe distance as the bouncer. The camera was alluring with those silver agents clawing and spilling their guts out.

"Basically-"

Dynamo was pulled to the side. Draglion reached across the room in a moment with his arm stretched at max length, "Oi, look at this," his other finger diverted into the tray. His eyes popped. Silver droplets were leaking down the side….the entire dish was now full with an unexplained amount of hardened silver coating on every end; the glass dish cracked.

A word didn't escape any doctor as they recorded the sample they couldn't explain. Bubbles escaped the solution. Just enough of a scare for Draglion to crane his head over the cube with an open mouth after lifting the mask over his snout, "What are you doing!?" Lena backed away from the furnace with a pair of lungs. When his jaws unlatched their teeth clicked a flame alive spewing out a pillar to melt through glass and kill whatever remained within. Drastic some may say, but caution was something instilled into his very brain.

"Saving you lot if some of those things went airborne," he wiped the bile off his teeth causing his suit to sizzle. "Doctors! Get me a list of the victims this instant- the ones who've succumbed and when they're getting buried!" he exerted his aura of intimidation getting asses into the seats as one of the few below their red god.

"Shit…" Dynamo didn't think of that, "Carbon conversion….." if that was true, then the bodies and their skin. The victims, "You...get out of here," he rested his hand on Lena. "This….might spill your guts, someone take her out of her."
