Many thoughts ran through Long Wen's head, yet none of them could make sense of what had just happened.

"Is he sleeping? We need to hurry and get out of here since Bo Fan probably already knows we've let the girls escape," Yu Xuelan informed.

Long Wen nodded slowly, realizing she shouldn't be dwelling on strange matters like this, especially since they were still trapped in the Earth Demon God's lair.

They left the demons on the ground and headed towards the stairs. She turned back and blasted a beam towards the ceiling, burying the entire underground prison with rubble.

"Lin Yuhe, who are you?"

A smile formed on Yu Xuelan's face, though Long Wen could not see her expression since she was behind her.

"Why?"

"You... You seem like you're quite used to this."

"Use to this? I was screaming my head off. Well, I'm just your average cultivator in training," Yu Xuelan assured. "Young Madam Long, where did you teleport the girls?"

"How do I know you're not dangerous?" Long Wen asked, which made Yu Xuelan gradually slow her steps and pause.

"How do you want me to prove that I'm not dangerous?" She smiled.

Long Wen was speechless because she really did not know how Yu Xuelan could prove her innocence. By dismantling her spiritual core? That's basically murder! That would put her morals and principles on the line, so Long Wen immediately dismissed that idea. She ran ahead of Yu Xuelan to avoid her question.

"Is Sect Master Wu here?" Long Wen asked.

"Of course. He can't just let his dear disciple die, can he?" Yu Xuelan chuckled.

She scoffed, "Well, I wonder when he's going to make his grand entrance."

After fighting those demons, she'd cleared her mind a bit about her actions within her dream. In the end, it was a dream. What happens in a dream stays in a dream.

After walking the flight of stairs, they arrived back at the room they were in except, the putrefactive odour was even stronger, denser, lingering throughout every inch of the room, perhaps it was because of the body that was devoured by the demonic poison.

They rushed out and opened the door, which led to a dim-lit hallway. However, the only door was the entrance that lied at the end of the narrow corridor.

"Is that where Bo Fan is?" Long Wen muttered.

She placed her palm on the sidewall and blasted a hole. To her disappointment, the wall was just that thick that the beam did not penetrate far enough to the outside area.

"Should we just go into the room?" Yu Xuelan suggested.

"I guess there's no other way."

Just when they started advancing forwards, a rat appeared from the wall. Yu Xuelan flinched at the sudden appearance of the rat emerging from the wall.

"Humans-chu!" the rat exclaimed.

Yu Xuelan blurted, "Shushu?"

"It's Chuchu-chu!" the rat raged and ran towards Long Wen.

"Chuchuchu??"

Long Wen raised her palm up to smack the demon away, but the moment she came in contact with it; the rat passed through her just like how it passed through the wall.

Long Wen collapsed on the floor and fell unconscious. Yu Xuelan stepped back and bent down to the body that remained on the floor lifeless.

"Long Wen!"

She shook her body and slapped her face a couple of times. Even though it was a serious moment, Yu Xuelan found it funny that she was slapping and shaking the girl like she was some rattle toy. She snapped back to reality and continued calling out to the woman.

It was too late. The rat had already started charging at Yu Xuelan and passed through her body. She felt her head grow light and attempted to support her head. At that moment, she realized this feeling was extremely familiar from when she collapsed before.

Now they had both fallen onto the ground, unconscious.
