1 Chapter 1
June’s POV
"June, get you lazy butt up for school!!" My little sister yelled from the kitchen. The voice tear me from my unconscious mind.
"Ok" I groaned tiredly, I look at my phone to check the time, I mentally groan in my head. It was the start of the new school year.
I contemplated on whether education was worth it before i got out of my cosy bed and took my clothes out. A pair of blue washed pants, an oversized jumper and a pair of my old converse trainers.
I went into the bathroom and put my clothes on and freshened up before I put my dark brown hair up in a high pony until i was happy with how it looked. First impressions last!
After I was satisfied with my hair in the mirror, I walked back into my bedroom, grabbing my phone off charge and my bag. I double checked I had everything in my school bag for the first day. I didn’t want to show up with one item less than every one else. After checking my contents were all in there. I made my way down the stairs. The smell of freshly made pancakes hit me in the face. What an amazing way to waken myself up. I thought to myself as the smell hit me on the way down.
I swiftly yet quickly made my way down the stairs and dumped my bag near the front door incase i was running late and had to run out the house to get to school or to trip my sister up.
"Hey dear."
my mum said to me cheerfully. How could anyone be so cheerful this bright and early in the morning? It will continue to baffle me.
"Hey mum!!" I replied back.
"Ready for your first day back to school?" She questioned.
"Of hell," I corrected her, “And yes,” I replied to her question, “I mean, I'm only in school for like 5 months. How bad could it be?" I shrugged glad I was nearly over with school.
"True. Then my little baby will be going off to college.", She said in her little annoying baby voice as she pinches my cheeks. I moved her hands away from my face, not wanting to feel like a child anymore.
"Mum, I'm not a baby anymore!! I'm a young adult." I proudly said as i straightened my clothes a little before looking up at her with a proud smile.
"Sure you are." she extended her arms, fixing my hair up a little before pulling her hands away and looking at me with a wide smile on her face, "There you are. NOW, you're a young adult." She exclaimed whilst trying to hide her laughter. I mentally roll my eyes and chuckles. Mums will always be there to baby you no matter how old you get.
As I walked into the dining room, my phone began to ring in my pocket. I reach into my pocket and dished my phone out.
'SELENA IS CALLING'
I press to accept button and placed the phone against my ear.
"Hey girl!!" Selena screamed through the phone like there’s no tomorrow. I pulled the phone from my ears for a few seconds before placing it back next to my ear.
"Hey!!" I say back to her, “Are you trying to get my deaf?” I asked as I walked over to the dining table.
"Oh shut up!”, She laughed through the phone “Soooo... are you ready for your first day of school?!" She asked.
"Oh yeh. Ive been thinking about it all summer!! I can't wait to start the day!!" I replied sarcastically to her question.
"Ahaha! I feel ya girl!!” She laughed through the phone, “Anyways, my mum is gonna pick you up in about 10 minutes so we can go to school together!! So make sure you're ready!!” She stated “We don't want to be late like last time!!"
I let out a small yet audible gasp, "Last time we were late, it wasn't even my fault!!”, I state the truth, “You were the one who took so long doing their makeup trying to impress James!!" I laughed, recalling the memory, "And I'll be ready." I assured her.
"Well I least I try to look decent and-" I let out a chuckle as I declined the call before she could say anything else. I couldn't be asked with all the lectures in the morning. I mean who can?!
"Breakfast is ready!!" My mum shouted from the kitchen. My stomach grumbled slightly.
She walked into the dining room. The sweet aroma of pancakes and maple syrup filled the air, causing my mouth to water.
As soon as she put the pancakes down, I rushed to get some pancakes and scoffed them down my throat.
"Mmmmmmm," I moaned happily, "Mum you make the world’s best pancakes!!" I stated, looking at her.
"Aww thank you dear. Now quickly, get ready!! Selena's mum will be here any minute now!!" She patted me off the chair as i took my last bite of the pancake. I groaned as I was dragged to my ultimate death.
As I put my white converses on, I heard a car honk outside. I opened the door and saw Selena in the passenger seat of the car,
"HEY JUNE!! QUICKLY, GET IN!!" She waved out the window before her mum dragged her back in the car and scolded her.
"Mum!! They’re here!! I'll see you after school!!" I shouted to her letting her know of my departure.
"Ok dear. Have a great first day at school!!" She shouted back getting about her usual morning routine. I grabbed my coat and bag before stepping out the house as i closed the front door, locking it before making my way to the car.
I entered the nice warm car where Selena's mum was still scolding her. I tried my best not to laugh. Selena was always getting into all types of trouble for stupid reasons. It amazes me. I dropped my bag in the seat next to me as the car begins to move.
"Soooo ready for your first day of school?" Selena asked me again, she turned around to face me.
"What kind of question is that?” I asked looking back at her like she had grown two heads, “Anyways you told me that question over the phone Selena. And no, I'm not ready!! I have those stupid exams in the summer!! This year is gonna be very stressful!" I groaned, reminding myself of the things i have to face this year.
"Don't worry!! You’re gonna ace those exams with flying colours!! I believe in you!" she said to me, beaming as she did so.
"Aww thanks Selena.”, I said smiling back at her, “All I have to do is put my head down and just revise all this year. No distractions at all!"
"That's the spirit" She said as she waved her arms in the air.
"Put your arms down, you freaking idiot!!" I laughed as she chuckled, putting her arms down, “Swear to god, I don’t know why I’m even friends with you.” I teased as she rolled her eyes playfully.
After a few minutes, we finally reached the school grounds. We both let out a small groan as we saw the school building on sight.
"You two girls have fun!" Selena's mum said to the both of us as we left the warmth of the car.
"We will mum!! Don't you worry!!" Selena replied as she closed the door to the car.
"We will!! And thanks for the ride, Auntie!!" I thanked her as I left the car too and stood next to Selena.
"No problem honey!" she smiled at me.
Me and Selena both waved her goodbye as the car drove into the distance before we faced school aka hell.
"Here goes.." I whispered to her.
"Yep." She replied back.
We both walked into school and went to the reception to get our timetables and locker keys. When we got our timetables and locker key, we both looked down at our timetable for the day.
"Oh my fucking god!! I have a double lesson of stupid maths!!" I groaned. The thought of maths made me want to puke, especially this early in the morning.
"Eh, I have a double lesson of English" Selena said to me nonchalantly.
"Lucky bitch." I whispered under my breathe with a light chuckle.
"Oh at least we have the rest of the day together!!" My eyes widened slightly as I looked down at both our timetables.
"Yes!!!" She exclaimed cheerfully before the bell rang, signalling the start of our first lesson on the first day of hell.
"I will see you after maths?" I asked her before starting to walk to my lesson.
"Sure!! Meet me by my locker." She replies.
I nodded and gave her a wave, receiving one back from the dumbo before we both parted our ways and head to put first class.
'Urgh I hate maths and I have the same maths teacher from last year!! Oh my god!! Can this day get any worse?!' I thought to myself as I walked to my least favourite lesson. Like how the hell is Algebra and Trigonometry gonna help me in life?!’ I mentally groan to myself as I mentally prepare myself and my brain to be fried so early in the morning.
