CHAPTER 3 (LAST CONTEST TO BE AN ALPHA

AT THE BLUE SHELLS PACK

     GAEL'S POV

The training I undergo, the torture is too much. The pain is beyond measure. No single day goes by without a single drop of blood. Am I the Alpha to take after my father?

Sometimes I feel that the Beta's son is way better than me but my father would kill me if I said that. He says no offspring in the entire Pack was to be more highly ranked than I am.

I would soon be crowned Alpha of the Pack after completing a few more steps. How I wish I was the same as my father but trust me, he was better than me in every aspect.

No similarities between the two of us but I thank the goddess that I am way good-looking. I had to complete the few remaining aspects before being crowned the Alpha after my father.

I ran around the huge forest nearby, both my father and the Beta were watching me. I felt tired but I couldn't stop, I had to complete their expected laps otherwise the crowning would be postponed.

With the rouge's frequent attacks, I had to be the best Alpha after my father.

"Good, you finally made it son." My father said gesturing me for a hug but I wouldn't risk shape-shifting before the two old seniors of our Pack.

On a calculated move, I jumped passed them and ran back to the castle in my wolf form. "I finally made it mom, I will soon be crowned to rule after Father," I said after shifting back to my human form and dressing up.

My wolf was pure dark with no other color with yellow eyes unlike my dad's which was dark with some whitish appearance at the front part with red eyes.

I found his red eyes cute and scary, I wish I had inherited those but perhaps I took after my mother's wolf form. "Begin the arrangements, the earlier the better." My father's voice echoed throughout the entire room as he walked upstairs.

I watched as the Omegas worked their fragile bodies to ensure everything was set for my crowning ceremony. "I will invite different Packs to the occasion." My mom said and I pecked her cheeks walking away.

"Stop the cleaning." Ordered the Luna. "I'll call in a new team to assist you in cooking, cleaning, and anything else you'll need. They might arrive late this evening." I had stopped halfway through my journey just to know why she would order the Omegas not to carry on the Alpha's orders.

I smiled walking away since she didn't cause any trouble this time.

                    AT THE LIGHT PACK

// EVA'S POV //

Alex and I had done several more secret training and I believe I was set for battle especially when he proudly announced. "Show them who you are after hitting puberty."

I couldn't wait to have my wolf with me. I'll call her Lexa. My one long-awaited wolf. I was done with my daily chores and tired, I was dizzy but I had to take my usual cold shower before sleeping.

I threw the old bathrobe over my body my teeth shaking and hitting against each other. The weather was unbearably frigid but I had no choice. Bathing is the only way to refresh my mind.

'Eva! Eva!' Finally, I heard what I'd been waiting for all this while. Alex told me that I would be able to communicate with my wolf once I had one during puberty.

I watched as my body took its wolf form happily. I was happy but the pain was so immense. From the deformation of my bones to taking the wolf form, the fangs and all, I finally shifted successfully but my heart shattered.

I could feel my strong forelimbs but my back limbs felt like they were absent. I remained stagnant not able to move or do a single thing. I tried to howl but luckily I didn't.

No one was to know that I have my wolf and can shapeshift. Now I know why I am an Omega. I could be helpful to conquer human attacks from silver hunters but if it were the rouges then I'd be a liability because once after shifting, I would sit and watch not able to attack.

I had to find a way of breaking up with Alex. I cannot be the Luna of Light Pack with a disabled wolf. Now I had to fully admit the fact that I was an Omega from birth.

I dressed up and headed straight towards Alex's sleeping chamber. I wanted to find the best explanations as to why I couldn't be his mate.

As I walked closer, every step I took seemed to break me into pieces. I could hear sweet moans of ecstasy and pure pleasure from Alex's room, if he was not making out with me who the heck would that be?

"Harder... Oh.." With the clear sound, I could already tell it was Tricia. Although this was a perfect reason for us to break up, it hurt like crazy.

He betrayed me, Alex betrayed me. I know that the chemistry between two wolf mates was high but he didn't keep his word to me.

"You are mine and mine alone Tricia," With his words I knew he was already claiming her fully by marking her as his lifetime mate.

With the spare keys, he'd offered me some time back, I opened and rushed in quickly pretending to not know anything. Alex's eyes full of pleasure landed on mine but he did nothing. I could tell he almost didn't recognize me.

I locked the door running back towards my shady sleeping chambers. An Omega for a lifetime I guess. 'Take it easy Eva, he's not our mate.' Lexa my wolf consoled.

I wanted to curse her for her disability but I couldn't. She was a part of me and we were one and equal. Alex didn't even run after me, oh, how heartbreaking and frustrating.

I cried myself to sleep and woke up earlier than usual. I took my normal cold shower and was about to summon Alex for our secret training when the image of Tricia below him crossed my mind.

"Guess I'll work my ass to death now," I said walking into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

"Omega Eva." The head in charge of we Omegas called and I turned angrily unaware that my eyes had taken their normal wolf's form. They were bloody red.

"Did you finally hit puberty and receive your wolf? And why would you have red eyes, I heard only a Pack Alpha can have that according to the ancient books owned by who knows whom." She said and I snapped.

"Of course yes, my eyes are feeling sore and I've not slept a wink because I can't handle the pain." I lied and she frowned.

"I can see the terrible dark circles around your eyes but sadly you're among the list of Omegas selected to help a different Pack from ours." She paused.

"I wish I could cancel your name after seeing your current condition but am not powerful enough to disobey the Luna." She said and I mused. Did she mean her words? The last time I checked she hated me for being smarter and quicker than her.

"Don't worry, I can handle that," I said and she smiled running her hands across my hair.

"I don't hate you, my dear, don't ever have that thought in your mind. Am just trying to avoid confronting the Luna. I think she hates you because of your close-name resemblance with an Omega." She said and I smirked.

Such an absurd reason for hating someone you're kind to. Now that I had given thought, Eva and Ela were close and perhaps someone confused her for me.

As planned, my team and I entered a van that took off at a high speed.
