I woke up weak and extremely sore in parts of my body I didn't even think I could be sore in. My bones felt so brittle, as though the slightest movement would shatter them.

Someone was in my room, standing by the windows, and they turned around as I fully regained consciousness.

"Miss, you're awake."

It was Mr. Edward, dressed as usual in his clean cut ensemble of a white shirt, black tailcoat and a bow tie. His face was pulled taut into a heavy frown.

"Yes," I rasped, still finding it a bit difficult to breathe as a flood of the events that had taken place before I passed out began rushing through my mind like a video tape on rewind.
