Dragon Heart

Within a dark cave, the centipede was looking at his minimap, watching the four dots leave his detection radius. After they had left he heavily sighed. That encounter was the closest thing to death he had been, if he had been even a moment late in getting in here he would've been dead, or worse.

'Why do only bad things happen after I leave the storage space?'

He sighed once more in defeat and looked around the 'cave' he was in. This 'cave' was the reason the man couldn't find him, it was actually the wyverns mouth. When he had reached the top of the dragon he knew hed be caught easily if he stayed up there so he went to the only opening on the dragon and went in.

It took a moment to open but once he got in it shut tightly. He had no way out of the dragon except for going through its digestive tract. He had been trapped in order to survive.

'Although it sucks that i'm here, at least i'm alive.'

He then looked towards the throat of the wyvern with apprehension. He really didn't want to have to do what he was about to do but he really had no choice, if he stayed here they'd find him eventually.

He slowly crawled his way into the wyverns throat, although it wasn't squishing him he didn't really have much space for extra movement. As he traversed down the wyverns throat he eventually began to hear a very light thumping noise coming from deeper in its body, as he got closer he began to feel it in the floor.

'A heartbeat?'

It was eerily similar to a heartbeat but this beast was already dead so there's no way it has a heartbeat, unless due to it being high level it had an ability that activated after death? The sound was very rhythmic.

As he got towards the lower end of the throat he came before a wall of flesh that was pulsating to the rhythm of the heartbeat.

'So this is where the heartbeats are coming from?"

He quickly bit into the flesh in front of him, it was surprisingly squishier than the flesh on the outside, and although it took him effort to chew through it he was definitely able to eat it. As he bit into the flesh a vibrant red liquid flowed down his mandibles and into his mouth.

He instantly heard Lifes voice in his ears. [High level Energy Supplement detected. Would the host like to convert the energy into experience?]

'Yes!'

As soon as he agreed to Life, hundreds of notifications appeared within his mind as he ate through the wall of flesh. He only continued to eat through the flesh for an hour before he had to stop due to the amount of energy and food in his body. While he waited he suddenly felt the body of the wyvern move.

'They're moving the corpse. Shit I need to get to the heart!'

He ignored the hunger he had been waiting to appear again and began to eat the flesh once again, tearing frantically at the wall while eating the flesh. He no longer cared about savoring the flavor of the meat he was eating, or slowly eating, he needed to get out now with the bloodline.

Eventually a massive heart at least two meters in size appeared before him. The heart was still beating as though it were alive and didn't seem to want to stop anytime soon. He looked at it in awe before looking at his own body as well, while he was eating he began to feel strange but ignored it as he needed to eat.

His body was now significantly larger. He had practically doubled his size, reaching 8 meters in length. He also had a scale-like pattern on his carapace. He then looked at this status.

[Name: N/A]

[Race: Scolopendra Gigantea]

[Level: 2]

[Stats]

Strength: 11

Vigor: 12

Agility: 14

Intelligence: 13

Constitution: 12

'Holy hell, what happened to my stats!?'

[Due to the host eating a high level creature with a concentrated bloodline, the host is evolving like normal creatures do. BEasts eat each other to strengthen themselves and gain more traits. The Host is currently eating the flesh of a high level creature and therefore is storing its blood in the Host's body for our own evolutions.]

'So you're saying I can evolve normally by eating things?'

[Yes host.]

He then looked at the heart in front of him before asking another question. 'And if I ate the heart?'

[Host would most likely evolve to become a separate species, a dragonian.]

'A dragonian?'

[Dragonians are creatures that can be considered a subspecies of dragons as they carry dragon blood within them.]

'And why would I evolve?'

[The heart of draconic creatures is where the most concentrated energy is kept within. It is also the area where the most bloodline is concentrated. A draconic entity's bloodline and most raw power is stored within the heart.]

'Is there any way for me to store this bloodline for later?'

[Host is able to purchase bloodline extractors from the system store.]

'And how much are these extractors?'

[500 points for low level, 5000 for a mid grade and 50000 for high leveled bloodlines.]

With a sharp inhale he looked at the heart with a conflicting gaze. He kept shifting his gaze between his minimap and the heart before he saw the four dots he marked earlier move closer to him.

'If I evolve normally will I be sent into the system storage space?'

[No.]

'What if I were to use a bloodline I have and also induce a normal evolution?'

[Host would be sent into the system storage to complete his evolution.]

Glancing at the dragon heart he sighed to himself. 'Well it seems it'd be a waste to not eat it now.'

He then began to bite into the heart like he had gone into a frenzy. While he was eating he went into the store and bought a capybara bloodline for 10 points. After the first few bites an overwhelming amount of energy seemed to have poured into him, causing him pain as he grew larger and larger with each bite.

Within half an hour the heart was practically gone and his vision began to blur as his body rapidly began to change to many extremes. He consumed the bloodline that he bought and after he chose the stat to increase the last thing he heard was life's emotionless voice.

[Host has selected to assimilate to bloodline, in approximately one minute the host will be transported to system storage to assimilate the bloodline.]

[Natural evolution has been detected as well, high level bloodline merging detected. Time in system storage shall be extended. Total time...calculating...1 month.]
