Chapter 1 - Allen Drake

Standing on the same spot on the street where it all started, Allen looked at the stoplight that had already turned red and the signal for pedestrians indicated green, a clear sign that she could safely cross the street.

This occurrence was exactly the same as the time she was abducted.

Though it was already eleven in the evening, there were still many people walking in the streets, unlike that time where no one was around.

"It's been many years, a lot of things have changed, but I can still clearly remember this place.." Allen mumbled silently as her eyes swept around to surroundings.

Her birth name was Lyra Wilson, and they call her Zero in the lab, but both names no longer exist. They're both dead. She is now called Allen Drake. This is her new identity.

She was no longer the ordinary and weak thirteen year old little girl in the past or rather she thought she was. In fact, she found out that she was not human at all.

Before, Allen thought that night creatures such as werewolves, vampires, hunters and likes can only be seen in novels and stories, but it was proven to her that they do exist and she's one of them. It's just that they, in reality, were far different from what was written in the books.

Who would have thought that she was originally a hybrid. A child born between a werewolf and a vampire. A mixed breed that both pack and clan would never accept as they have been enemies for a thousand years.

Disguised as a man, Allen wore a white-collared sweater, topped with another layer of a knitted red singlet. It was paired with a pair of comfortable, black trousers and white rubber shoes. She had cut her hair short, but not too short without shaving underneath.

This kind of hair cut, added with some short bangs that reached her eyes which did nothing to hide her beautiful pair of translucent emerald iris.

She was like a ceramic doll standing on the street, completely attracting the attention of the people who were passing by. But Allen didn't even give them a glance.

Her pair of translucent emerald iris, clear as a real translucent gemstone, shone beautifully as those lights from the passing cars reflected and matched her almond-shaped eyes.

Allen looked like a good looking noble boy around fifteen to sixteen years of age despite being already twenty. With such beautiful features, one couldn't help but have sinful thoughts.

Bam!

Her attention was suddenly caught. She turned her head to look over. Allen had a glimpse of a man running away after being hit by a car. He looked totally unharmed.

That man actually crossed the street without using the pedestrian lane. He appeared to be in a hurry, as he still moved at a speed so fast after being hit as if nothing happened at all.

Despite the distance, as a hybrid, she could clearly distinguish the deformed part of the car. No doubt, that man was not human at all!

Allen usually wouldn't care about this matter, it was when in spite of the darkness of the night, she actually recognized that man. She was stunned by what she saw.

'Its him!' She felt an urge of anxiety as she screamed in her mind. Allen moved and started walking at a faster pace towards the area where the man ran over as her eyes kept looking at him.

She wanted to move fast, use her unimaginable speed, but she couldn't reveal herself in the presence of so many ordinary people.

Just like her before, not all people are aware of the underworld, the society where vampires and werewolves existed.

As she passes through numerous people, no matter when she accidentally bumps into someone, Allen pays no heed as she only whispers an apology in a low voice. "Sorry.."

It was when she turned in a corner of an alley that Allen began running, using her speed to catch up with the man. He was also running away in a haste! She was losing him!

Following over, Allen jumped through some walls as she continued chasing after him. Turning left then right.

'Why isn't he stopping!' She screamed in her mind. She didn't feel any other presence following them, so what was he running for?

No matter, Allen continued until she jumped over another wall, next to the street, she saw him on the other side. She still followed. When...

Bam!

Her body suddenly felt light, her vision spinning, her body was actually flipping, flying in the air because of the impact! Allen didn't notice the upcoming car. She actually got hit!

Screech…

The sound of the brakes screeching on the entire length of the street as it forcefully stopped.

Due to her anxiety, even with her abilities, Allen failed to perceive the vehicle that suddenly appeared at a speed so fast. Her alertness actually failed her!

"D*mn!" Allen cursed while she came to realize that she was actually being tossed in the air by the impact. At the same time, her mind was running fast.

She was thinking about what to do next. It is not that she did not know how to flip her body to land on the ground perfectly, but what if the person who hit her was an ordinary human?

'Anyway, I'll just run away so they won't see me.' She thought. she rapidly regained her composure.

As nimble as a cat, Allen adjusted her body, did a backflip and gracefully landed on her feet with one hand touching the ground for support.

She was about to run away to avoid being seen. But the second her pupils shrunk, Allen immediately became alert, ready for battle.
