Davis looked at Vance as if he had gone insane. "You are asking us to do all that at once? I am sorry. I cannot look left and right at the same time. You overestimated the ability of your own pack members. Look around you. We have one kid and one woman. Oh, my apologies, I mean three kids if we include Grady and Weldon."

"I have you," pointed out Vance. "You have the power of two men. And you have me. We can take them. I do wish you would believe in me more."

Shaking his head in exasperation, Davis took a deep breath as he thought of how to make Vance understand what he meant. "I am not underestimating your ability, Your Grace. However, I fail to have the confidence that we can handle doing so many dangerous things at the same time. We definitely need help. We cannot do this alone. The number of our pack is small, compared to the number of vampires we are going to face. We are heavily outnumbered. As your beta, I advise that we add our number first before we split the tasks."
