Blood and Water

Love the only glue other than mutual hatred than can bind two colliding forces together. A fairytale or a reality? time will tell if fate opposes or upholds. A trade of hearts one more than the other, this is a tale. A tale of blood and water.

Chapter One 1.

Five years ago

"The building's coming down!" he yelled over the raucuous tugging me by my arm. Fear gripped me by it's claws jolting my limbs awake.

We navigated our way through the dim building barely missing the rubble raining down. I led the way, having mastered all the possible escape routes of the building.

Barely making it out, the whole building came crashing down just seconds after. I dove head first rolling a good feet away, they were here already running towards the fallen building in search of only God knows what.

I turned to face him, sighing in relief. The cops had already returned pulling me towards the ambulance but he wasn't anywhere.

"No!" I clawed my way out of their grasp running towards the mass of rubbles. Rock after rock I tossed aside not caring about my bleeding fingers.

"No,No!" Sobbing wouldn't change a thing but I couldn't help it. We made it out? Didn't we? We just had to, he was right behind me. Right there just seconds behind.

"No!"

            Present

My tears dropped down on the counter, reflecting the shimmering moonlight. Why did he do it? Why did he save me?

I've lived with the guilt eating me alive ever since. Not being able to bear the thought of living without him, I moved away packed up my things and just disappeared.

A lot was revealed that night a lot that I learned. My father, the same man who taught me everything I knew about anything. The one whom I devoted my life to,deliberately dropped a building on me.

He didn't care if I died or not, all he wanted was to finish what he started.

It was closing time, another one of Lindale's typical slow weeks. Business wasn't entirely good today or any other day for that matter.

Just a few home calls and a lunch hour rush, if you could call it that. As sad as it was, another bad month and I'm gonna have to close it down.

This bakery was my sanctuary, the cream walls calmed me, even though the paint was chipping at the edges but none of that mattered. I came to Lindale in search of peace away from my father. Away from the voices that invade my head every single time I see his corpseless grave, knowing fully well that it was really my fault. I was the reason he got stuck in the building, the reason he was crushed to death.

He died saving me, that is it something I can't move on from. I can never move on from him, five years later and I'm still yearning for his touch just to hear the sound of his voice.

I sighed finally clocking out, the streets were bare tonight just random cars zooming past me.  The night was still young and the aristocrats had a lot more to offer, for them the night has only just begun.

Home, I couldn't wait to go home to my apartment one of the only things I could be proud of. A thousand orders and about twenty pay checks later with the help of Jake of course it was finally furnished completely down to the very last detail.

I couldn't be happier with it. Just the thought of it had my eyes drooping, it wasn't a busy day but it was a stressful one.

The pale blue Mercedes inched closer and closer, slowing down to a complete halt in front of me I stepped back trying to make my way around it. Two inked  buff men stepped out dressed in all black.

They seemed out of place with the whole serene atmosphere of the streets, what could they possibly want? I side stepped out of their way hastening my steps.  They both glared at me chuckling at my vulnerability.

"Julia" The one on the right whispered coming behind me. He had a scar running from the corner of his eyes to the tip of his nose, sporting an unkempt viking beard. I broke into a sprint his large stomps trailing behind me.

"Julia!" he growled still chasing after me, I didn't know what he wanted from me but with a face like that nothing good could come from it. The pale blue car screeched blocking my path.

I turned to see his large stomps swallowing the distance between us, the other man stepped out of the van smirking at me. He was completely bald no sign of facial hair either, other than his eyebrows.

His whole face was inked with random tattoos. A significant bloody Ice sword on his neck. I dashed past him to the other side of the road merely making it a few feet away before I was tackled to the ground.

"Fiesty" he chuckled pulling me up by my hair towards the van.

       "I like fiesty"

The white light was blinding, positioned right in front of my face just like the one's in the interrogation room. I remembered these steel walls, on more than one occasion I was confined into these walls forced to watch him carry out his own twisted form of justice.

It's always been the family's legacy, something  he never forgot to remind me that I knew nothing about. The thought of seeing him after all these years made my skin crawl.

"Julia" he smiled down at me chained to the wall. I glared up at him with every bit of hatred I could muster.

The sound of his voice alone irked me to no bounds. What could he possibly want from me now? After so long.

"Breathe Lia" he cooed curling a loose strand of my hair in his finger. I didn't want him touching me, I didn't want anything to do with him.

He fastened an old silver locket around my neck warning me never to take it off under any circumstance.

"What do you want from me" I growled at him tugging at the metal restraints. This chapter of my life is supposed to be closed and for good.

"I need a favor from you Lia"

"I owe you nothing" I spat at him glaring at the scar on his arm, the bullet just had to miss the one spot it was supposed to hit.

"You owe me everything, you owe your country everything!" He yelled slamming his fist into the side of my face. I winced in pain swaying due to the dizziness.

"It's time" he whispered over the ringing in my ears.

            "Take her"
