Life just has a way of fucking you sometimes you know everything could be going right for you then before you know it you're face first in the mud struggling to get back up.

I finally couldn't take it anymore and tried to dig my way out. Yun Lao looked at me lazily before walking over and stomping on my head forcing me back into the ground.

"Stay there understand I'm almost done so wait for a few minutes,"

Yun Lao was upset by Gong Wu's impatience why couldn't he just wait his turn to die it was all so annoying.

Gong Wu had enough he was on the verge of going completely insane because of Yun Lao and his arrogance.

"Listen up you bone-licking son of a bitch you better let me go before I fucking lose it,"

Gong Wu threatened Yun Lao but instead of responding to Gong Wu he ignored him and continued harvesting the bones from the corpses.

The veins in Gong Wu's head bulged and he violently started shaking trying to free himself from the dirt. Yun Lao heaved a sigh and walked back over to Gong Wu.

"Listen I'm a nice guy but there are limits to my kindness,"

Yun Lao then kicked Gong Wu in the face several times in the face until he stopped wiggling around.

He then started taking the collected bones and using some technique he fused the bones together making stronger and stronger bones.

Gong Wu was now even angrier after being kicked in the face he snorted blood out of his nose before trying to get out again.

Once more Yun Lao had to stop his work to have to discipline Gong Wu again.

"Okay, that's it since you're so keen on pissing me off today I'm just gonna...

Yun Lao then stopped and jumped high into the air avoiding a giant centipede that was coming at him.

Yun Lao recognize this kind of centipede it was a bone-grinding centipede and it feed primarily on bones.

It was a vicious predator that used its sword-like jaws to shred apart the flesh of its prey to devour its bones.

As a demonic cultivator who specializes in controlling and refining bones, he naturally knew about the creatures who feed on them.

"Oh, shit don't eat those bones!"

Yun Lao quickly summoned his hidden skeleton puppet. It emerged from the ground covered in armor made from spiritual Qi holding a short sword.

It stabbed at the centipede trying to get it away from the bones Yun Lao collected.

Yun Lao couldn't lose those precious bones if he did it could take him weeks before he could get enough to refine his skeleton again.

The centipede lashed out at the skeleton with its powerful jaws biting the spiritual armor surrounding it trying to get to the bones underneath.

I decided to use the opportunity to escape digging himself out of the ground and then sprinting away.

Yun Lao quickly caught up to me and kicked me in the back of the knee causing Gong Wu to fall.

"You're not getting away,"

Yun Lao then grabbed his neck and used a technique to look inside Gong Wu's body to see his bones what he saw almost made him vomit.

Gong Wu's bones were not white instead they were a dark red with streaks of black mixed in. They didn't look solid instead they were full of many small holes like a sponge and they were so large that they became deformed.

"Your bones are so ugly I would never use such abhorrent bones to make a skeleton puppet,"

Yun Lao let Gong Wu go and turned his attention away from him and back to the centipede.

It didn't look good it was currently crushing his puppet at present it wouldn't last much longer.

Yun Lao was about to engage the centipede in combat but right as he going to strike he realized something was missing.

His storage bag was gone and he had a lot of valuable stuff in there if he loses it he will be in some serious financial trouble.

He looked around and noticed Gong Wu running away with a bag in his hand.

"Mother fucker how dare you steal from me after I spared your pitiful life,"

Yun Lao was going to run after him but he stopped when he heard his bone puppet cracking and instead decided to kill the centipede first.

"Good thing I'm not a dumbass and didn't leave anything important in that bag other than some low-grade pills and a couple of spirit stones there's nothing I regret losing but now I have to do more sect missions to get that stuff back,"

Yun Lao cursed Gong Wu and remembered to kill him if he ever saw him again before taking out a long dagger and running at the centipede.

Gong Wu ran until he couldn't see Yun Lao anymore he then found a small cave and ran inside covering up the entrance with leaves and branches and began hiding.

He was exhausted after all that running and decided to lay low for a while until it was safe to go out.

"Hehehe while he was busy I took his storage bag let's just hope there's something good in here,"
