"What!!!!?! Give me this… Let's see!!!"

Conor, unable to trust his ears, snatched the letter out of Kai's hand… But after reading out the letter the same way he just heard it, it made him even lose faith in his own eyes. 

He passed the letter to Ken who got the same empty expression after reading the letter with his eyes exactly like Kai said. 

Even Ellen turned the same way after looking over the letter for more than three times expecting its contents to change with each and every time. 

Eventually, she let the paper be blown by a small wind down the table back to Kai's hand with the same voided face the other two had. 

Kai looked at all of them with a genuinely happy face filled with joy before he gave them each a little slap getting them back to reality. 

"Don't lose your heads now, it's still too early for you guys to lose your composure, keep calm you idiots… Keke, I don't blame you though, this is some happy news." 

"Are you kidding me?!? How can you even stay that quiet in this situation, we've literally… Hummmph"

Conor was untrained to take Kai's careless personality and his cold behavior and so his voice raised unintentionally forcing Ken to step in and shut him up reminding him of their location and the fact they were in public at the moment. 

Looking around him and seeing all the different stares landing on him and his friends, Conor finally realized his mistake as he felt a bit of shame and regret while slowly sitting back down. 

Though it wasn't really his fault because people were already staring at their table since the big guy breached into their territory… Or whatever the other recruits called their table and the ones around them. 

They kept staring since then out of curiosity of who would dare to walk up to the Elites'-as they like to call them- territory, they were kinda surprised by the quick exchange between him and Kai and the others as they wondered what they could've talked about… 

And so Conor's outrage only made them more curious than they already were but did not drive any more attention than they were already having anyway. 

"Let's leave and meet the guy quickly, he pointed out some rules and conditions to making that group, so we need to hear them out before we make any celebrations…" 

Kai declared as he got up preparing to leave while also informing the others of their need to get going as well. 

Not so long after that, they were all standing in the pressuring presence of Commander John who was staring into their souls with a thoughtful look on his face. 

Breathing out the small breath he was holding, John glanced for one last time into Kai's eyes before he gave them the news face-to-face this time.

"As you've already read from the letter, you guys now have your own group, Kai… You shall be the leader of the group, let me see if I put my trust in the wrong person or not." 

"Now before you get too happy, there are some rules and conditions that you guys need to agree on before we can officially say you own your own group…" 

John's eyes swept over the room analyzing their reactions and expressions… He was satisfied with their faces yet disappointed when his eyes landed on Kai's face as he had the same empty expression as the day before. 

He got his head away from this as he continued explaining all the rules and conditions set for them to follow. 

"First of all… And the most important rule of them all is no unjustified killing… Meaning you can't send soldiers assigned to join your group to their death stupidly without any type of justification or need… Power abuse is also absolutely unjustified and will not be tolerated with and is punishable by death in some cases…" 

"Another rule is…" 

John went on giving them one regulation after another until their heads began to really hurt trying to comprehend and remember everything he was saying… Which fortunately they didn't have to do as all the rules will probably be written for them yet John still wanted to make sure they got everything very clear. 

In the end, They were all just some random kids who never experienced the true meaning of war… No, they were kids who were yet to have even experienced life. 

"Now as for the last rule, I need you to be truly focused Because it is extremely important… well, it isn't a rule but more of a condition… My only condition for creating this group is to allow one person of my choice to join it immediately and perhaps give me some reports about how much of a good job you're doing… So, Do we have a deal???" 

Asking this John's looks landed on Kai's making his role as the leader of the other three come clear even more than it already was… 

Not that any of them had any objections… After all, Kai was the one that made a new group created for them and them only- which they were convinced to be impossible- come true… And so they believed that the position of the leader was something only he deserves to have and acquire… 

And that's why all the eyes in the room were piercing through Kai's body at the current moment all expecting him to jump right on the offer… 

As for Kai himself… He wasn't bothered by all the stares he was getting nor what others' thoughts were as he had a concentrated look on his face… 

And unlike what they all thought, Kai didn't just hop on the offer and use the chance he was given… Instead, he stood still lost in his own world with his eyes closed thinking about all the rules John has just given him. 

After a good long minute of complete silence and when everyone was assuming that Kai had somehow fallen asleep in the middle of the conversation… 

Kai's eyes unlocked with a curious light shining inside of them as he said something that froze everyone's mind… 

"Is it a Male or a Female…?"
