1 Prologue

New York.

The dark gray clouds hung, above the skyscrapers that were overcrowded; the wide streets were always congested with cars, and the large sidewalks were full of pedestrians, filled with noise and life. This was one of the largest cities in the world; its population was as big as small countries.

In one of the high buildings, on the 68th floor, a wide office, sat a young man, with slick blonde hair that was fixed back, fierce blue eyes, and brown lips, a consequence of the usual big cigar he smoked

Legs on top of the black table, Luke Specter is a successful entrepreneur, high enough to stand with the wolves that tried to rip him apart, and young enough that those hyenas below him tried too.

Alas, they failed miserably, like right now.

"And the champion of Forge in Fire is...James!

Congratulations James, you are the new champion of Forge in Fire!

Carl! I'm afraid you lost! The judge will tell you why "

Watching one of his famous shows, Luke, with a smile on his face, was satisfied with the champion! He had worked so hard for this win and needed it to progress in his career! Luke could feel The Champion's emotion when he forged that weapon.

The blade was well forged! beautiful! And it will kill!!

*Bang*

The door was smashed open with such force that it hit the wall with a loud bang. but Luke was so engrossed in the show that he didn't even look away from the screen, eagerly waiting for the Judge's analysis.

"F*ck you, Luck!" cried out, a hoarse voice, coming from a heavy man, huffing and puffing and totally out of breath. The Boss wiped the sweat off his forehead with his suit sleeve.

"F*ck you too Boss," said Luke without turning back.

"Didn't you hear of knocking? we do that since we don't want to see our mothers naked" Pausing for a bit, Luke turned toward the man in question. Dressed in a dark blue suit, he had black hair with a bald spot, small eyes that were always squinting, and lips that were big as a duck's. Luke's gaze didn't wander onto the man. He continued while shoving a cigar in his mouth. "Tell me, boss, do you want to see your mother naked? I heard that she was available."

*huff*

*huff*

"What are you even talking about! " The Boss didn't hear him well since his ears were ringing from the sprint he just made; his body was quite shocked when he made the 100-meter sprint, so it transmit warning signals to the brain, be it the rigging ears, the beating heart that made his chest huff up and down, the dizziness and lastly making his teeth hurt.

Luke's voice was heavy and burdened as he asked: "Why are you here? I thought I told you not to come to my office."

"First of all," the boss shot back, his voice trembling with barely-suppressed rage, "It's my office! I own the building! Second of all, why did we sell 30% of the company?? Why did no one talk to me about this?!"

"Oh" pausing to take a drag. Luke continued " Now! use your peanut-sized brain and think! yesterday! did you sign something?"

"Like I always do!"

"did you read it?"

"No! you were there! why would I read it? isn't that your job?"

Luke chuckled for a bit before asking, "My job? No, no! My job is to make this company money, not read your contract! That's your secretary's job!"

"That's illegal!! I'll sue you! You can't do this!" Ragged the heavy man, his face turning an alarming shade of red, as he pointed towards the paper he held.

*puff*

With an amused look, Luke took a drag from his cigar and said "It's weird, ain't it! I now own more shares than you, so technically I'm your boss. And since I'm still working here, that means you're my boss too."

"I'll sue you, Luke! This is a very serious matter!"

"Hahaha! Of course, it is! I just pulled off the best legal heist that exists! Who would have thought that a man of your standing would not check what he signed? I have you on camera too !! you want to watch it!"

"What! " anger bubbled inside the heavy man, clenching his fist, which was holding the paper, he cried out, making his voice be heard by anyone outside "I'll take you to court over this!!"

"Is that all you have to say! I'll sue you! listen here " Pushing his chair forward, Luke put down his lit cigar as he fiercely gazed upon the man in question " The law doesn't protect fools! you see! You can indeed sue me! and I of course I'll humor you about what is going to happen! my lawyers will ask you! did anyone force you to sign! was the environment of any kind harmful to you? Do My client's obligation in any kind is to counsel you about what's in what you sign? "

Pausing for a bit to catch his breath and add dramatic effect, Luke continued with his spine-chilling glare. "And you will answer 'No' to every question! Do you know how many cases like these happen in a day? Too many to count!"

"So take your depressing atmosphere with you! and go spread it to your lawyers! who will advise you against carrying a suit against me! since the value of your shares will fall!"

"You haven't seen the last of me, Luke! I'll be back and I'll make you pay! You'll regret crossing me!" The boss huffed and puffed as he took his papers with him and went on his way, which either meant he was too intimidated to continue or he got the message that what he was doing was worthless. Either way, he just abandoned his shameful act and walked away... Unfortunately, he forgot to close the door behind him, making Luke curse under his breath as he stood up and walked across the room to close it.

"All that is left is to add that money to the pile I have, then I'll start my own company! I just need to decide what industry I want to get into." As he walked determinedly towards the door to close it, Luke thought about his ambitious upcoming plans. Unfortunately, just as he did, he suddenly crumbled to the ground like a pile of Legos. Dead.

Too sudden! Too soon! too anticlimactic! Were Luke's though, when he comprehended that he died, yet when he closed his eyes, he opened them to another world.

The next thing I knew I reincarnated.

"We settle here!" I said it in a completely foreign language, my mouth moving without my conscious control. I felt the world change before me. It's like all that I lived in my past life was a mirage; it didn't exist; I didn't exist; I'm no longer Luke Specter. I'm something else, someone else.

I was absolutely stunned and astonished when memories of Herald Frode's life began to surge into my brain without warning. I felt as if I was experiencing everything he had gone through myself.

Herald Frode, son of Bjorn, the Fearless, one of the Warlords in Scandinavia, was born into a time of peace and prosperity. However, the years to come were harsh, with failed crops and dying livestock due to the cold weather. People were struggling to survive.

After much deliberation, Bjorn The Fearless took a momentous decision that would change the course of history; historians would come to know this time as the first Migration, where the Norsemen would migrate en masse from the north towards the more temperate climes of the south.

From present-day Norway all the way to The Rhine River.

An event that will lead to the birth of the Germanic People!

Different tribes fought for supremacy in a land where no one wants to go.

Central Europe, south of the Viaduna River. A new settlement had been built by a small, new tribe. After paying tribute to the biggest tribe in the region for protection, they quickly set to work building their settlement before they could be raided; After all, paying for protection is just a facade. The new tribe knew it, and everybody knew of it.

Luke now Herald, Built the village as a military encampment, First he built a simple Palisade ,its construction consisted of mid sized tree trunks aligned vertically, with no spacing in between. The trunks were sharpened or pointed at the top, and were driven into the ground.

The height of a palisade ranged nearly ten feet. As a defensive structure, palisades were often used in conjunction with Earthworks , and that's exactly what herald did, digging a small mound that was linked to the closest river.

From the inside of the fence, a stand had been built so that warriors could patrol.

Inside the wall, houses were built like cabins in the woods; these houses were stacked in neat cubes. One alongside the other; these houses were all the same and alike. Yet other houses were built with distinctly different materials from the others, such as the smithy, which was made of stone. The large barn, which was made of wood; and several chicken sheds, which were made of straw.

Some people are dressed in colorful homemade clothing, while others are dressed in more practical leather clothes. Everyone seems to be busy with something; some are already building boats in the river one mile from the settlement; others are making a fishnet, and still, others are tending to other chores like the barn or livestock.
