41 1 Shin'o Academy (A summary)

[AN: If I knew I had to teach even on summer vacation because I failed some students, I would've passed all the little sh**s so I didn't have to report to school even on summer vacation. Unfortunately, I didn't know so. Please bear with me and patiently wait for me to create more chapters. I really really want to write and finish this thing but time is not on my side. It has been a year since Yon came to Seireitei (Soul Society).

And it was a fruitful time for him. He was able to polish his fighting styles and even add more to his growing arsenal. Especially the Kido spells which was also why he was currently on his way to the Kido corps headquarters.

The Kido corps is technically not part of Gotei 13 but they answer to the summons and orders of the Captain-commander himself.

It is a group of specialists presiding over spiritual law. It is one of the organizations within Soul Society that is allowed the use of force along with the Gotei 13 and Onmitsukidō, and is also a special organization comprised of experienced Kidō users. Even the Gotei 13 put their trust in their skills.

The Kidō Corps takes students from the Shin'ō Academy that excel in Kidō and trains them to further their abilities in said area. Its operations are executed in absolute secrecy.

He was recommended here due to his performance of being able to cast Hado and Bakudo spells with ease. And the fact that he easily mastered them in a very short amount of time which was also the reason he was able to graduate early in each year level. He himself has chosen the Kido corps over any of the divisions.

His strength however, he has shown as much as someone having the same riatsu as a 3rd seat or a lieutenant (2nd Seated officer). That was also the ticket to pass the entrance exam to be admitted where he demonstrated some of his riatsu.

He has investigated the Kido corps structure before joining them and he was surprise to have found very little position in it. There was the Kido corps commander which denotes control over the entire Kidō Corps, the Grand Kido chief which denotes the most powerful Kidō practitioner in Soul Society and the vice Kido chief which is the second-in-command of the Kidō Corps and was the only position filled in.

Ever since Tessai Tsukabishi who held the 1st two positions and Hachigen Ushōda who held the last one were discharged, Soul society has not found any talent to fill the empty positions.

Even the current holder of the vice Kido chief was only there to fill the roles and was elected due to connections. Yes, the current vice Kido Chief was a noble of the Kuchiki clan, Kuchiki Kuzia.

The rest were regular members of the Kido corps whose main responsibilities are opening the Senkaimon between the Human World and Soul Society, and releasing the Sōkyoku seal during executions. Besides that they were just a group who excel in Kido spells who awaits commands from the captain commander.

He did have an interaction with Aizen once. He was left alone afterwards, although he was pretty much wary of him ever since. After all, Ichigo and the others would definitely be coming over soon.

Flash back part 1 (Aizen)

A few months after joining the Shino Academy.

Yon was practicing the Kido spells mandated by the Academy and the Kido corps for him to graduate to the 3rd year class. It was not that long ago when he joined but he was already in his second year.

"So, you are the new talent of the Shino Academy." A somewhat calming voice resounded from a distance and Yon had to stop whatever he was doing to look at the individual who spoke to him.

Once he turned around, he saw the first main antagonist of this world, Aizen Sosuke. But Yon remained calm in front of him.

"Captain, how may I help you?" Yon of course pretended not to know him which was what was supposed to be the reality.

"I was just curious how you were able to come to soul society. Did you get help from Kisuke?" Aizen immediately opened pandora's box which earned him a guarded front from Yon who was now holding his sword ready to strike at any moment.

"You know who I am?" He asked fully focused on even the slightest wrong movement from Aizen.

"Of course, you were the one responsible for the missing group of shinigami about 6 years ago. You were also the one responsible for defeating the grand fisher at the same time saving Kurosaki Masaki 8 years ago. You were recently the adopted son of Masaki and Isshin Kurosaki but you suddenly disappeared about 3 years ago. Who would have thought that you would be here?"

"That's a lot of information you got about me considering that I don't know a thing about you."

"Have they not tell you who I am? The reason Kisuke and the others retreated to the human world was because of me."

"What? That crazy guy was a shinigami? Even that woman? And also why are you telling me this?" Yon asked in surprise, clearly acting out.

"Confidence and curiosity." Yon only showed a confused expression to which Aizen explained.

"I am simply letting you know of my confidence. That even if you know who I am and that I was the reason for them to be banished from here, everything will still happen as I have planned. That, and I am also curious to see your growth after you have disappeared for 3 years. Become stronger in these last moments you have left and then show me, if you can stop me." Yon who listened to him only sighed and his hands were no longer holding his sword.

"I really hate conflicts. As much as possible, I wanted to stay away from you and whatever it is that you planned to do. But if you're letting me become strong without interrupting me, then I will highly appreciate it and not be in your way unless you still want me trying to stop you later." Yon showed his riatsu to be that of a lieutenant level. He pretty much ignored Aizen after that and started practicing his Kido spells.

And that was the last time he spoke with Aizen. Why he didn't see him in any lectures or any of his class was unknown to him but was also a boon since he was left alone. Or maybe Aizen was just really that confident after knowing that his riatsu was only that of a lieutenant level.

Flashback end

In an unknown location (not disclosed)

A young man wearing standard shihakusho with blue shitagi(undershirt), a white kosode(Shirt) with blue stripes, blue hakama(trousers), white socks, sandals ,and finally a black sword adorned his side, was looking at a building with no sign to dictate what kind of building it was.

What greeted him however were two guards standing in front of the entrance. They were wearing a standard black shinigami shihakusho with white tabi as their uniform, but it also includes a white face-coverrings, enveloping the entire head, excluding the eyes.

Looking at them, Yon remembered how he was approached by them in just 4 months after joining the academy which then cemented what path he was going to take.

Flash back part 2 (The recruitment to Kido corps)

It was a week after Yon passed the entrance exam and he was escorted to his new dorm. Luckily enough, he didn't share a room with anyone so he was able to setup his portal back home. He connected it to the wall and made it invisible to the naked eye.

He and the other applicants were tasked to stay in their dorms for a week before the start of the class.

After a week they were finally in the part where they will be holding an Asauchi to become their life-long Zanpakuto, and Yon was having a conversation with ryu on what to do.

"Just hold one of the swords there like they do and I'll simply devour the Asauchi itself then manifest."

"Just like that?" Yon asked

"Just like that" Ryu confirmed.

Yon shrugged his shoulders in surrender and began walking to the front of the crowd which were all students save for a few instructors.

Yon held one of the swords available and it immediately turned black and into a very familiar sword to him. The instructors and students were surprised by the fast development that has transpired, only a select few was able to do that.

"Looks like we got a talent. There were only few students from the past who were able to make an immediate change the moment they held an Asauchi. Most of them are now captains of the Gotei 13. You have a bright future ahead of you Tokisawa Yon."

Commented one of the instructors while the others nodded and his fellow students(Mostly females) were idolizing him but some were looking at him with pure jealousy and malice. He doesn't even have to use his senses to know most were males.

Few days passed

They were taught the history of the Gotei 13 and its purpose. Which was taught to them as follows

1. The defense of the Seireitei, the center of Soul Society.

2. The deployment of Division members into enemy territory for combat operations.

3. The deployment of Task Forces as defensive measures in the Human World.

4. The guiding of souls to Soul Society.

It was a boring time period for Yon until the time they were finally thought the four basic combat skills of a Shinigami.

Namely, Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hoho and Kido.

Yon didn't bother to hide his talent when it comes to Zanjutsu which was way above his peers. Although almost the same to his lessons in Kendo, the training here was more intense and effective.

Which was why he was diligent when it comes to training the basic which his peers doesn't take much seriously. This earned him another points from his instructors and peers excluding the majority of the males.

The same applies with Hoho which was a defensive style of fighting which relates to footwork. Hohō is an important skill for most Shinigami, which incorporates speed and agility.

The skill level of Hohō can be enhanced and improved through concentration, training, and mastery of it. Among the foremost practitioners of this technique are those assigned to the Onmitsukidō.

But just because he already have his very own shunpo which he calls Soru does not mean he can't learn more to improvise it. He has shown talent in Zanjutsu but not his styles and he has also shown his talent in Hoho but not his progress.

Hakuda which he lack experience besides beating Ichigo and his peers back in the human world was an area he needs more improvement. Hakuda is a close-combat style of fighting, in which one is unarmed and uses only one's body.

Yon learned the fighting styles taught in the academy without any reserve as he was hungry for more martial arts knowledge. Ryu from time to time also taught him what he gathered from the memories of his past life, though most came from old movies and wuxia novels which was rich in theories.

It was when Yon started training for Kido that he was in trance. The first few Hado and Bakudo spells were taught by the instructors while the rest of the knowledge about such spells were told to be studied in the library of the Academy.

They were told that the first few taught to them were the only requirements to graduate, the next batch will then be taught to them once they are on higher levels until their 6th year. But this wasn't the only way to rate one student eligible for graduation. It also has connection with how much riatsu one possess.

Yon however, has different plans as he stopped showing up on the other training areas. Why would he need to be there when he can just get all of them in one fell swoop.

That was how Yon, abused his access to the library where surprisingly he didn't have problem accessing higher level books about the four main combat skills of a shinigami.

The gist is that, Yon would have to report to the librarian whatever he was going to read and bring with him to his dorm. But when browsing the books he doesn't need to.

Utilizing his fully developed talents as an immortal.

He has secretly scourged the library with space concealment in two months time. All of which recorded inside of him which was easily accessible with the help of Ryu.

That was why on the third month he applied for an early graduation which was immediately granted upon showcasing his improvement and passing the required test to be a second year student. Within that time period Aizen visited him one time.(1st flashback)

When he passed the third test on the training ground of the Kido training area, multiple shinigami with a full-face cover showed up along with a man who seems to be in his 40s, judging by the wrinkles on his face.

He had a black beard and a mustache rivaling 'white beard' aka Edward Newgate. [AN: It definitely was a mustache and not a beard right?] He was wearing the same black shihakuso which was draped over with a dark blue robe with the cliched towering collar reaching his ears if not for the fact that it was an open style.

He first spoke in a hushed conversation with the instructors before facing Yon who was the only student present for his graduation test.

"Tokisawa Yon." He called out.

"Uh, yes?" Yon asked in confusion pointing his own finger towards himself.

"I am, Kuchiki Kuzia, the current vice Kido chief of the Kido corps. We are here to formally invite you to become a member of the Kido corps."

"Sure!" was Yon's reply with eagerness to it.

"You don't have any questions?" asked the man.

"Not really no." Yon blandly replied.

"Not even about what the Kido corps stands for and what we do?" The old man asked looking at the young man in front of him.

"Well according to the academy, Kido corps is one of the organizations within Soul Society that is allowed the use of force along with the Gotei 13 and Onmitsukidō. It's main purpose is for opening the Senkaimon between the Human World and Soul Society and is responsible for releasing the Sōkyoku seal during executions." Yon stated as if it was the most obvious thing which earned him a nod from the man.

"While that is true, we have other duties in Soul Society which is not privy to everyone. Although we are inviting you to the Kido corps, you are still required to graduate from the academy until the 6th year unless of course you graduate earlier like what you have been doing. The test to enter the Kido corps will be held on the Kido corps base. You are to battle several Kido corps members to assess your level. Do you have any questions?"Yon shook his head sideways.

Kuzia and the other Kido corps members then left the Testing ground.

Flash back end

Yon was now inside the Kido corps base. Nothing much was different from the base since it looked just like any traditional Japanese setting of buildings. Probably the same in every division. The only difference this base held is the amount of exotic plants displayed in every side of each buildings.

Yon was led to an open field to see Kuzia sitting comfortably along with few familiar figures sitting beside him. The most obvious one would be the bald head, old man with a very long eyebrows, mustache and beard altogether. He's definitely Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto, the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13. He was sitting in the center, on his left was Kuzia and beside his right was a woman with a small stature, wearing the same uniform as the captain commander and also had white haori over her.

What made Yon recognize her was her dark blue short hair style with a pigtail wrapped with something white, probably some sort of fabric. And yes, she's probably Soifon, the current Captain of the 2nd Division and also the commander-in-chief of the Onmitsukido.

"Welcome to the Kido corps, Tokisawa Yon." Kuzia immdiately said.

"It's nice to see you again Vice-Chief." Yon replied.

"Let me introduce you to the one's who will be witnessing your test." Kuzia gestured his hands to the two people sitting beside him.

"On the very right corner is the Commander-in-chief of the Onmitsukido and the Captain of the 2nd Division, Soifon." Yon did a simple bow in acknowledgement.

"While the one sitting just beside me is the Captain-commander of the Gotei 13 and also the Captain of the 1st Division, Head Captain Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto." Once again Yon did a simple bow in acknowledgement.

"You already know who I am so you may now introduce yourself."

"I am a fresh Graduate from the Academy, Tokisawa Yon, at your service." He introduced himself.

"Good. Now, let me make everything clear to you. This test is not just to have you join the Kido corps but also a test if you are eligible to take on the role as the new vice kido chief." This surprised Yon and so he raised his hand to ask.

"Yes?"

"May I know why am I given such a high position at the start? And also, isn't that your position?" Kuzia just smiled at him.

"To answer your last question, I will no longer hold on to the position that's why it's open. For your first question, It has been more than a hundred years perhaps since the positions in the Kido corps has been vacant. And talents such as yourself rarely appears. Me saying this already holds a lot of weight. We have been monitoring your progress, and to be able to graduate in a year's time from the Academy is another take away. But, all of this reasons are useless if you are unable to utilized your talent for real, that's why we will still test you."

"I understand, May I know how I will be tested?" Kuzia nodded before answering.

"You will be fighting the 3 current candidate for the position of the vice kido chief, using Kido spells only of course. So, you could actually say that this is also a test for them."

"Will I fight all of them at the same time?"

"No, it will be a one on one in a way of elimination. Just win two rounds and the position is yours. Anymore questions?" Yon shook his head.

"You may prepare yourself for 10 minutes before the test begins."
