Chapter 207 Baka Red

Ichigo was surprised to see that Ophis was capable of showing angry emotion. Normally, she would just be very calm and cool. He even thought that she might be like him, who could not express emotion. But now, seeing her glare at him with fire in her eyes, he realized that she was more complex than he had originally thought.

And she talked about something that tried to touch what was hers. He didn't know what she meant by that.

"Ophis, What are you talking—"

Ichigo then suddenly felt like something was crawling inside of him. He fell to the ground and clutched his chest in pain.

"Papa!"

Hana came out of his inner world and tried to heal him. However, Ophis stopped her.

"You can't do that. Otherwise, that darkness will consume him."

She wanted to protest but Ichigo told him to listen to Ophis.

Something that was eating her blessing was destroyed after that. Ophis looked at Ichigo with seriousness.

"Ichigo, you saw it. How can you still be alive?"

Ichigo felt much better. He didn't know that there was something like that inside of him. And it seemed that Ophis knew what the being he saw was.

"I don't know. I don't know how I survived either."

Ichigo told her the truth. He thought that he would be killed, but he could come back before it could do anything to him. He felt like something or someone had protected him from it. Ophis's blessing also played a part in protecting him, but it was far from enough.

Ophis looked at Ichigo deeply before she shook her head.

"I need Baka Red's help. I can't let you drive into the void with us. Otherwise, it will know and try to kill you again. I can fight it, but I can't protect you while fighting it."

Ophis had fought with it before and nearly died. If it wasn't for Great Red to come and help her in time, She would be dead by now.

Ichigo nodded. That meant he could not step inside the void yet. He must be stronger than Ophis to fight it.

Ichigo wanted to know how strong Ophis was, but he knew that it was something he would have to discover on his own.

"Let's go together when you are strong enough to protect yourself. I will speak with Baka Red about what to do."

Ophis looked at Shuri and then showed her the empty plate and said she wanted more chocolate cookies. Shuri, who was worried about Ichigo, felt relief when she saw that Ophis had finished helping Ichigo and nothing bad happened.

She gave her one more chocolate cookie, and it made Ophis very happy. She even thought of letting Ichigo go to the void so she could help him again to get more cookies.

Akeno helped Ichigo up and asked him in concern.

"Ichigo, are you still thinking of going inside the void? Is it important to you to go there?"

She wanted to know why he wanted to go inside the void. Something that could fight Ophis, the infinite dragon god, was targeting him. Was it worth risking his life for?

Ichigo went silent. He didn't know how to explain it.

He wanted to go inside the void and defeat that being so he could go back to his previous life's world so he could help his friends.

"I will explain to you later with Rias and everyone."

Akeno bit her lips but nodded. She will wait for him to tell everyone why he wanted to go into the void, even though it was very dangerous for him.

"Now that I have met with Ophis, she has gone back to eating her cookies. She didn't seem to have anything more to say to me. Let's go on a date then."

Ophis would talk with Great Red about something first. She would then contact him again later.

Akeno nodded, She would have him all by herself for today. How could she miss this chance? She had many places she wanted to go with him.

Inside the Void.

Great Red had been having a lot of fun for some time in the void. 

Nothing could stop him or pose a threat to him except for the void beasts in outer space. They were not strong, but their number was overwhelming.

They could not come inside the outer space of the universe, as the laws of the universe prevented them from doing so. They were monsters that lurked between the voids of galaxies, waiting for any opportunity to strike.

Their instinct was to swallow everything that wasn't the void itself.

He watched them closely while playing. And today should be the same as every day, but something unexpected happened.

The void beasts tried to force themselves inside the outer space of the universe. However, they were destroyed completely by the law of the universe, but they didn't stop.

"What happened to these idiots? Even though they are stupid. They never did something like this."

Great Red observed them and found that something had controlled them to do it.

"It must be that thing that almost killed Ophis. But why now?" 

It should have made a move a long time ago, but why now?

However, no matter what it was thinking, Great Red would never allow any of the void beasts into the universe. He enforced the law he governed in the universe to get rid of all of the void beasts.

He exterminated them in a blink of an eye.

And after he finished cleaning up the mess, he was contacted by Ophis. She never contacted him without cause before. So he knew that what she wanted to say to him should relate to the being that controlled the void beasts.

"Baka Red, help me protect my champion."

"You have a champion? Who?"

Great Red didn't know that Ophis had already picked her champion. And it was his duty to know who it was. If it's a woman, then that's okay, but if it's a man, then it's another matter.

Ophis was too innocent for her own good sometimes, so it was his duty to check it for her.
