Chapter 150 Strenghtening soul

Alucard dealt with the vampires faster than Ichigo expected. And those who were kidnapped were safe and were brought to their families.

"The job here is done."

Alucard let his pet, Baskervile, eat all of the vampires. He told everyone that all the vampires needed to be killed except for a few of them.

"You really hate your kind."

Ichigo asked the obivious, and Alucard chuckled, his crimson eyes gleaming with a mixture of amusement and disdain. 

"Hate is too gentle a word, kid. I despise the very existence of my kind and their insatiable thirst for power and dominance. They are nothing but vermin that deserve to be eradicated." 

As he spoke, a chilling aura emanated from him, causing Ichigo to shudder a little bit. So this was how it felt to stand near the ancient vampire. 

Alucard then looked at Seras, who spoke with the local Yokai. She didn't have a chance to live much before he needed to seal her inside the coffin. He didn't want her to become like those vermin.

"You could tell something about me by the smell of blood. I could also tell you something about the soul. Your soul is very awful but hers is really beautiful. Can you tell me why?"

Ichigo asked with curiosity, his eyes narrowing in thought. He sought knowledge and understanding. Alucard paused for a moment, contemplating Ichigo's question.

"The smell of blood can reveal much about a person's nature. And yours, I could say, is very chaotic but in a good way. They mixed and supported each other very well."

He replied, his voice laced with an air of ancient wisdom. 

"As for the beauty of her soul, it is perhaps a reflection of the purity she possessed before being tainted by this world's darkness. Or by me who made her come to be."

Ichigo nodded; he didn't need to know more than that.

Then he had something he could offer him.

"But I think her soul is being tainted by darkness. It will change her beautiful soul to look like yours in the future. Do you want me to help you with that? I can also purify your soul if you want to. This should be something I could do to repay what you did for me and everyone here."

Ichigo took his duty as the guardian seriously. He said he would protect Yokai City and he intended to fulfill that promise.

Alucard helped him deal with those vampires before anything serious happened so doing something like purifying his and his disciple's souls was the least he could do in return. 

Alucard's eyes widened. No one had ever offered to purify his soul before. It was a tempting offer, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of hesitation. He had spent centuries embracing the darkness within him, and the thought of losing that part of himself was unsettling.

"No, you don't have to purify my soul but hers. I want her to be the same and be free from the darkness shackle."

Ichigo nodded and then he called for Futsunomitama from his inner world. 

Futsunomitama's specialty was strengthening the soul. 

If Seras's soul was solidified, the tainting would stop, or it couldn't do anything to her.

Futsunomitama came out of his inner world in the form of an ethereal sword. Alucard looked at it with desire, as it could potentially kill him. And stopped his suffering.

But when he looked at Seras, the thought of dying went away. She needed him so he would not die any time soon.

As Futsunomitama materialized, its ethereal glow illuminated the whole area. 

Ichigo then walked toward Seras, who looked at him in fear. The sword in his hand could kill her.

"You, what are you trying to do?"

Seras was ready to fight but Alucard stopped her.

"He will help you with your urge for blood. You will not suffer any longer." 

Alucard's words calmed Seras, as she realized that Ichigo was not a threat but rather the one who would help her control her vampire instincts.

"And what about the sword?"

"Futsunomitama would not harm you. He will only strengthen your soul so you won't have a problem overcoming your vampire urges."

Ichigo explained. He didn't do anything; he just handed her the sword.

"Touch him and he will help you."

Seras felt afraid of the sword but she trusted Alucard. She took a deep breath and reached out to touch Futsunomitama, feeling a surge of power flow through her as she held it in her hands.

"Don't resist and it will be over before you know it." 

Ichigo reassured her. Seras closed her eyes, allowing herself to fully embrace the power of Futsunomitama.

She could feel that the sword was not just a weapon; it was a form of a vibrant soul. It strengthened her soul and she could tell that she didn't have to drink just blood to sustain herself anymore. 

The sword's energy seemed to nourish her in a way she had never experienced before.

"I want to eat delicious food!"

"It seems that Futsunomitama did a good job."

Ichigo nodded. Seras's soul had been strengthened, and she would not fall into the darkness of her vampire instincts again.

"You have done a huge favor for us, kid. If you want my help, just ask. This is my number."

Alucard felt that dealing with those vermin wasn't enough for what Ichigo had done for Seras.

She is more precious to him than anyone could imagine.
