Chapter: 13

"Alright, that's the end of that."

I said while dusting off my hands and looking up at Jidanbo expecting him to do something else but to my honest surprise Jidanbo who was looking at his now broken axe started crying.

"My axes!! They're broken! They're broken! My axes are broken!!"

I looked at him with an unreadable expression but in reality, I was consulting my conscience aka the zanpakuto's.

'Guys!'

"Is he crying?" (Burēdowākusu)

"What a wimp." (Maru)

"All that hype for what?" (Tokui-ten)

'But but now I feel bad.'

"Dad in all due respect he should have expected this." (Tokui-ten)

'Bu-but.'

"Father no." (Burēdowākusu)

'Let me at least fix his axes.'

"Fine!" (Tokui-ten, Burēdowākusu)

Clearing my throat I spoke.

"J-Jidanbo sir I can fix your axes if you want."

Jidanbo looked at me his face stained with tears.

"C-can you?"

"Yeah, I can," I said with a nod.

"You're a nice guy!! You and I are enemies but you still feel sorry for me…"

"Hard not to," I muttered under my breath.

"Big!! You have a big heart!!" he said grabbing my shoulder.

"And look at me… crying over a couple of broken axes. How can I call myself a man!!"

"..."

"Utter defeat… utter defeat!! As a warrior and as a man I've been utterly defeated by you!!"

He said standing and wiping his tears.

"Three hundred years I've been the gatekeeper of the White Road Gate. I have never lost before. You're the first person to beat me… You can pass! Jidanbo authorizes you to pass through the White Road Gate!!"

'Well, that was surprising.'

I simply nodded my thanks.

"Can… can we pass through too?" Orihime asked.

"Sure your leader beat me, so I can't stop you!"

"What?" Uryu asked in surprise.

"Riku? Our leader?! You're kidding?!" he continued.

I looked back at Uryu with a raised eyebrow and asked.

"Is there a problem with that?" 

Though unknown to me my tone was darker than I wanted. Hearing my tone Uryu started sweating then replied.

"N-no."

"Good," I said with a smile.

"Riku is that your name?"

"Yeah Riku Kurosaki."

"Riku Kurosaki that's quite the powerful name."

"Thank you."

(fun fact I did not know this Riku Kurosaki means shore black peninsula or Land Black peninsula.)

"Be careful Riku I don't know why you want to pass through this gate but there are a lot of mean guys in here!"

"I am well aware."

He looked at me for a little bit then said.

"Alright well as long as you know. Here. step back and I'll open the gate.

He said as he reached his hand under the gate.

"Don't be scared. It looks harder than it is."

He kneeled down and reached under the gate with his other hand as he then started to pick up the gate. With a grunt, he completely lifted up the gate.

"Whoa!" was the sound of the combined surprise of Ichigo, Orihime, Chad, and Uryu.

'I'm not gonna lie he is strong and that's without a zanpakuto.'

"Ok, we'll give credit."

<<Master! enemy!>>

Snapping my head to the now-opened gate I saw a man. He was a thin, tall, and youthful man with very sharp features, giving him a skeletal appearance, and bears to ears length unusual silver hair. He keeps his eyes constantly narrowed to slits. He also keeps his face set in a wide mocking smile. He was wearing the typical captain's attire.

'Shit is that.'

Seeing the man Ichigo asked.

"Who the heck is that?"

Before I can respond Jidanbo beat me to it.

"The captain of the third division… Gin Ichimaru."

"Uh-oh, this won't do," Gin said

Sensing an attack coming but before I could warn Jidanbo one of his arms was severed.

"Won't do at all. A gatekeeper's job ain't to open gates."

Jidanbo screamed out in pain at the loss of his arm and without his other hand helping to hold up the gate it came crashing down on him but somehow he managed to hold up the gate.

"Golly. You can still hold up the gate with just one arm. You really are Soul Society's strongest giant. But as a gatekeeper, you are a failure."

"I lost… the obvious thing to do was to open the gate for the victor!!" Jidanbo stated.

"My respect for him just to a different dimension." (Burēdowākusu)

'Not the time Burēdowākusu.'

"What are you talking about? Didn't anyone tell you? A gatekeeper that loses can't open gates. Cause a gatekeeper that loses… dies.

Before Gin could do anything else I created Burēdowākusu and vanished in a burst of shunpo and locking blades with Gin.

"I believe you have done enough."

We disengaged and I jumped back. I raised Burēdowākusu and it started to leak silver energy.

"Gin Ichimaru you have done quite enough indeed."

"Oh, so you know who I am yet you're not afraid."

"Afraid? Of you? No no, I'm not."

"You're a funny kid aren't you?"

"Riku! What are you doing!? We need to retreat now!" Yoruichi shouted out.

"Oh so you're the one Byakuya mentioned then that means he is Ichigo Kurosaki," Gin said pointing at Ichigo.

"You know who I am?" Ichigo asked.

"Yep… just as I figured," he said 

Gin turned and walked back a few feet then held out his zanpakuto which was a short sword.

"All the more reason to not let you pass."

Gin then spun pointing his zanpakuto towards me with his arm covering the blade of the sword.

"Shoot to kill: Shinso"

Suddenly the blade of Gin zanpaukto extended at a high speed that forced me to block the strike but it knocked me back and forced me to slam into Jidanbo and sent us out of the gate.

"Riku!!" everyone shouted.

Because of the fact that Jidanbo was no longer holding up the gate, the gate started coming down. Before the gate closed Gin walked up to the closing gates then waved at us.

"Bye bye~"

"I'm going to strangle him when I see him again."

"Agreed!"
