"So, what brought this on?" Asked Shunsui, staring at Ichigo with a carefree smile, "Don't tell me some hidden ancient force decided to attack Soul Society?"
"That's not something to joke about," berated Soi Fon, narrowing her eyes at her fellow Captain, "Though I hate to say it, we still aren't ready for another invasion …"
"Maa, maa, lighten up Captain Soi Fon," smiled Shinji, trying to lighten the tense mood that permeated the hall as she uttered those words.
'And here I thought you'd finally loosen up after getting laid,' Sighed Shinji while alternating her gaze between Soi Fon and Ichigo.
It wasn't really a secret that Soi Fon's clan had forced her to be a concubine for the patriarch of the Shiba Clan, which is Ichigo, for more political power.
And Soi Fon, as someone who takes duty and responsibility seriously, did not refuse her clan and agreed quite easily.
So now, not only does Soi Fon's family have ties with the Shihouin Clan, but the Shiba Clan as well.
Shinji doesn't know what method Soi Fon used to make Ichigo agree to the proposition.
"Anyways," Ichigo tapped his sheathed blade on the floor, gathering the attention of every Captain on the room, "This meeting was requested by Captain Mayuri after he informed me that he discovered something important, would you be so kind as to tell us?"
Everyone turned their focus on Mayuri, who merely chuckled in amusement before stepping forward and opening his laptop.
"Ahem," he fake coughed, "You see I was studying the android Quincy that Captain Soi Fon fought, and I discovered something very, very, dangerous …"
He was about to say interesting, but refrained himself. He needs to convince Ichigo to allocate more funds to their division to go to other universes, and he will do it even if he has to lie and cheat.
He smirked when he noticed everyone grow tense at his words.
"This android, BG9, is an artificial life form created by so-called gods in another universe to be used as mass-produced weapons of destruction, they seem to be planning on conquering and waging war against other universes. This BG9 was a scout who suffered an accident and was reprogrammed. They seem to have already discovered our universe and might be preparing for war."
Hehehe, Mayuri chuckled internally. Knowing that the supposed other universes is 'planning on going to war' with them, then surely Ichigo would give the Twelfth Division more funds to find a way to that other universe and send a scout.
That's the most logical thing to do.
Gather intel on the enemy, and sabotage their plan if you can.
If he did not say this, Mayuri was sure Ichigo would just let the opportunity to go to another universe pass by because he doesn't want to destroy this peace they now have.
He doesn't want that. He needs materials!
Only a threat of war would make them motivated enough to start finding ways to go there.

"Are you high?" Asked Shinji. "What kinda bullshit is that?"
Mayuri glared at him, before coldly snorting, "How narrow minded of you, no wonder you got played like a toy by Sosuke Aizen."
"Why you—" Shinji glared at him, not liking how Mayuri brought up his sore spot.
"Silence." Ichigo tapped his sword, silencing everyone as he turned towards Mayuri, "Captain Kurotsuchi, can you confirm that what you have discovered is absolute truth?"
Mayuri nodded, "Of course. They call their Universe DxD, or the Draconic Deus. And I swear on my name as a scientist that what I have discovered was all real with no hint of lies or deceit."
Yes, what he discovered were all real. But the part of that universe going to war was an absolute nonsense.
He didn't swear that everything he said was the truth right? He only swear that everything he discovered was real.
"I believe him," said Shunsui, causing everyone to look at him, "I don't trust the guy with my life, but I have absolute faith in him as a scientist. His pride and honor as a man of science would not allow him to lie after swearing in his own love for science."
"Sounds interesting," Kenpachi grinned in anticipation, "A war with beings from another universe? I can't wait! I want to cut them all up!"
Grimmjow was silent, but the bloodthirsty grin on his face says he agree with what Kenpachi just said.
"Why do they have such a cool sounding name for their universe?" Nel pouted in annoyance, "What's the name of our universe anyway?"
"Well, we don't really know." Said Shunsui.
"The Soul King might know …err, the Royal Guards …um, the Five Great Nobles! I am sure they have some knowledge!" Shinji turned towards Byakuya.
"How pointless," Byakuya sighed, but shook his head, "I have read all books in my clan's library, there was no mention of the name of the universe whatsoever."
"Then let's give it a name! We can't lose to those DxD people!" Declared Nel, "as the current President of Shinigami Women Association, I promise that whoever can come up with a name will receive a prize!"
"A prize? From Women Association?"
Shunsui and Shinji blushed with a perverted smile on their face while imagining about the prize. Even Lisa looked interested.
"That's troublesome," Kenpachi grumbled in annoyance. "Why don't we just stick with Soul Society Universe?"
"So unoriginal! Rejected!" Said Nel, her arms forming an 'X'.
"Kuro Neko Universe?" Suggested Soi Fon.
"Not all of us are a simp for Yoruichi! Rejected!"
Soi Fon shrugs, already expecting such answer.
"How about Spirit Universe?" Suggested Shunsui.
"Nah, I think Soul Sword Universe sounds better," said Shinji.
"No, no, Spirit Realm sounds way better." Said Lisa.
"Nay! Nay! Nay!" Nel shook her head at their suggestion, "Come on people, we need something cooler! Draconic Deus is way too good, we need something that match that!"
"Rabbit Rules Universe," said Rukia, with a smug smile as if she said the most obvious answer.
"We're not obsessed with rabbits like you!" Nel deadpanned at her.
"Well, you should be!" Rukia retorted back.
Mayuri felt his cheek twitch as chaos ensued around the hall with everyone focusing more on naming their own universe than actually about the 'invasion' of another universe.
"Spirit Sword Realm!"
"Rabbit Rules!"
"Oh come on, just stick with Soul Society!"
Having enough of their childishness, Mayuri turned towards Ichigo who was staring at the captains arguing in amusement.
As if noticing his stare, Ichigo turned his gaze towards him.
Mayuri motioned for Ichigo to stop them before things escalated more than it already has, to which Ichigo simply nodded.
He then tapped his sword on the floor, silencing the room.
"Alright, calm down." Ichigo smiled at them, "If all of you really want a name for our universe, then why don't we go for Animus Arma, or AxA. It's a latin word for Soul Armament."
The other captains pondered at his suggestions, and nodded in agreement, finding the name quite fitting.
"I like it," Nel nodded, with a sagely look, "I say this with absolutely no bias, but Ichigo will be rewarded by the Woman's Association!"
"No bias my ass," Shinji grumbled.
"Anyway!" Mayuri loudly exclaimed, gaining the attention of the captains, "Now that all of you are done with your childishness, it's time we proceed to serious matter."
At his words, the lighthearted atmosphere immediately vanished from the hall, replaced by solemness.
Just then, Soi Fon spoke up, "If what you said is true and the other universe is really planning on invading us, then we should gather more intel about their universe; military strength, powers and abilities, any dangerous weapons, or anything that can be a threat to us."
"Before that," Toshiro interrupted, turning towards Mayuri, "Have you found a way to go to that other universe you spoke of?"
"That's why I called you all here," Mayuri showed them a picture that shows the 'Dimensional Gap', "I don't have enough funds nor resources to conduct a multiversal traveling research, so I hope the Captain Commander can allocate more funds to my division."
Increasing funds of another division requires the agreement of more than half of the Captains due to the fact that their funds are shared between each other.
If one division were to have more funds, the others would have their funds cut depending on how much funds said division received.
After more than half of them agreed, the Captain Commander will finalize the request.
"More funds huh," Ichigo scanned the rest of the captains, "What do you guys think?"
"I have no problem," Soi Fon shrugs, "This matter is of great importance for us and we need information ASAP. We can't have that if we can't even cross to their universe."
"Same here," said Shunsui, "We need more intel if they ever come and invade. I don't want us to be caught off guard like what happened five years ago."
"Before I agree," Byakuya turned towards Mayuri, "I want to ask, how long would it take you to create a way to travel to another universe?"
Mayuri replied confidently, "Give me a month, no, if there are more funds and resources then I can do it in half a month at most."
"… Very well," Byakuya nodded, "No complaints from me."
"Same here." Said Shinji.
"No complaints here as well." Said Toshiro.
"I have no problem as well." Said Harribel.
"Same here," said Rukia.
"No problem for me," said Nel.
"That's a yes for me," said Lisa.
"Fine by me," said Grimmjow. "You better not fail though, or I'll rip you to shreds."
"If it means getting to fight people from another universe, I'm fine as well." Said Kenpachi.
Seeing everyone agree to the increase of Twelfth Division funds, Ichigo clapped his hands.
"Since everyone agreed, then I shall have more funds allocated to Twelfth Division for them to research a way for us to reach the other universe."
"Kekeke, thank you for your trust." Mayuri grinned, "I will not disappoint."
Ichigo nodded, before turning towards Soi Fon, "Captain Soi Fon, once Captain Mayuri found a way for us to travel to the other universe, you will be the one to scout the place. Prepare everything you deemed necessary."
"Understood." Soi Fon nodded.
Ichigo turned his gaze towards the captains, "Now, please prepare your squads for possible invasion, but do not speak of what we found out here outside of your Lieutenants. Since BG9 came from the outside, we can't rule out that there are others who are the same as him and spying on us. It will be bad if they found out that we know about them."
""Understood Captain Commander!""
Ichigo nodded as everyone replied in affirmation, "Then, does anyone have concerns? If not, we shall end this meeting here."

"…"
"None?" Ichigo observed them before standing up from his seat and tapped his sword to the floor, "Then this meeting is adjourned. Dismiss."
With that, everyone left the hall one by one after offering a salute and a bow to him.
