I'll Try To Be Gentle!

Tired of the day, I was lying on my bed, awake, with my father beside me, reading a book. "Will I be able to win this tournament dad?" I asked. He looked at me and kept his book on the nearby table.

"I mean… look at Oliver. How well he defeats his foes! But I am not that skilled to-" My dad stop me in between. "Blaze, you are stronger than you think you are. By saying these words, you are not only allowing negative thoughts, but also insulting Magnum's skills." He explained. I realized what he meant. I was stronger than this. I knew it somewhere inside me, deep.

I nodded in agreement and got up of my bed. "I am going to do some practice." I said. I got out of the room and closed the door behind me. I went out of the hotel, to a silent and lonely place, nobody to disturb me and started to practice with Magnum.

The practice didn't last long as I was tired and felt like sleeping. I went back soon. I had luckily taken the key with me as dad had slept. I as well dozed off when I hit the bed.

The next day, I was all ready for my battle. I wore a T-shirt and a jacket over it as usual. With magnum strapped to my waist and energy flowing through me, I felt charged up for the battle. My father and I reached Foster stadium soon enough to see the first battle already beginning. We were late.

I quickly went into the hall, watching the lady manager at the other end of the door, her expression making me guilty for being late. I searched for Oliver who waved his hands and made a seat for me on the sofa he was sitting on. I sat beside him and we chatted for some time until my name was called out.

I got up and followed the lady who led me through the back stage to my usual, blue side.

When the doors opened I walked out to the stadium and saw Pierre Li, my opponent coming out of the red side. I grabbed Magnum and pulled him out. Pierre Li got out his weapon, a special spear. It had sharp edges which almost made it look like a sword.

"This is Harner. Meet your end!" Pierre Li introduced his weapon. "This is Magnum. I'll try to be gentle!" I replied. That was a big progress in insults!

The referee soon began the battle and we both were rushing towards each other. I am not going to make this battle long as the others, I thought. I needed to put my practice into action. I tried slashing Pierre Li but in vain. The weapon, Harner was too fast for me to catch up to its speed.

I somehow managed to get a weak point and strike Pierre Li's gut. That gave me time to strike again. I quickly summoned Magnum's spirit and his power followed. I slashed on the head and the battle was over. I was getting a hang of Magnum.
