Chapter 5: Introduction to The Occult

I made into the Occult Studies classroom with five minutes to spare. I scan the room and the professor has it decorated with frames full of dead insects and even a couple bats hung up on all the walls. I look over by the window close to her desk and see this enormous animal skull sitting on top of a large bookshelf.

I know this an Occult Studies class, but this is kinda creepy..

"Vii over here!" I hear Jo say as I was looking around the room for her and Evelyn.

"What do you think the professor looks like?" I say as I take my seat in between the two of them.

"Dude, I bet she's an old ugly bag with all this creepy shit she has in here." Jo said, and she physically shook in her seat.

"Seriously, Jo!? Just because she likes weird shit doesn't mean she's old and ugly. What the hell is wrong with you?!" Evelyn says as she reaches over me to slap Jo on her left arm.

Just as Jo was about to yell at Evelyn for hitting her, the professor walks in and sits down at her desk. I look over at Jo and I swear her jaw was on the floor. The professor isn't an old ugly bag. She's absolutely stunning. I don't think I've ever seen a woman as pretty as her. She's wearing a pin straight black dress that stops right at her knees and the cutest black stilettos I have ever seen. She has gorgeous long straight brown hair that parts in the middle, and her eyes are this golden brown color that almost look like they glow.

"See, I fucking told you!" Evelyn says as she looks over at Jo.

"Okay class, I'm Miss. Reid and I'll be your Occult Studies professor!" Miss Reid says, and she writes 'The history of the Occult,' on the blackboard behind her desk.

"I know it's the first day of school and this is a new class, but I don't want to waste any time getting into our studies."

The professor smiles and points toward the bookshelf by the window as she says, "Now, if you don't mind, please line up and grab a textbook off the shelf so we can get started."

I look at Evelyn and say, "Okay, I'm actually excited to be learning something for once."

Evelyn laughs as we all get up and grab a text book before returning to our seats.

When we got back to our seats, I looked at both Jo and Evelyn and said, "So something really fucking weird happened after you guys left the garden earlier.."

"Are you okay? What happened?" Jo said as she inched closer to me.

"I'm fine! It's just when I started leaving I noticed someone in the woods and I think they had been watching me.. It really fucking creeped me out, so I took off running back to town."

"Oh my god babe, that absolutly terrifying.." Evelyn replied as she placed a hand on my shoulder to calm me.

Jo wrapped me in a tight hug before saying, "seriously dude, you're really fucking lucky nothing happened to you. I mean, what if it was some crazy psychopath who wanted to hurt you?" I could see tears welling up in her eyes as she added, "Evelyn and I would be completely devastated if something had happened to you.."

I looked at them both before grabbing them into a tight group hug from our seats and said, "Well, I guess it's safe to say I won't be going back there alone anymore."
