Chapter 1

"Blood, what ... what is this?" He lifted his hand, while his face turned in disgust, and covered in blood he dropped the knife. It was dark, only a few shapes could be seen but there was a light, a dim one. It lit the middle of the room red, and in the middle of this room two bodies. One was male and the other female. They were around 30 years old. Shock was still plastered on their cold, pale faces. The boy, around High School age, stood up, his clothes soaked in blood. Some being his own. "Hey we're coming in don't move!" a gravely voice yelled from the other side of the door. Thud. Thud. Thud. The door was about to smash. CRASH! It finally caved and the police came rushing in, batons and ballistic shields in hand. "turn around and put your hands behind your back!" it was the same voice as before but a little more unnerved, probably because of the bodies and blood. "This is horrific, why and how did you do this Kai? We are supposed to be guarding the new nuclear fusion energy reactor but got a call from a neighbour who heard screams." The man, in a long dark brown, buttoned jacket shook his head, his luscious golden locks curling to the side, and turned away from Kai. "Cuff him" the man said with sorrow in his voice and a drop of water dropped to the floor from his face. "I'm sorry" he then walked out the door and another walked up with handcuffs reaching for Kai's hands. Suddenly, the ground shook and the dim red light started to flicker. Boom! The sound of an explosion reverberated through the walls creating a horrible sound. Then everything went a pure white and blackness consumed it.

"What is this? I can't feel a thing. Am ... am I dead?" Kai said hesitantly. "No, not yet anyway that is your choice. To die, or to live but in an others body" a distant voice said. A little ball of light then appeared in front of Kai, it looked like it was searching him as it twisted around his body. "I want to live" Kai said mustering the strength to move. The voice, that seemed to be a girls, then spoke "Very well, but know this, if anyone finds out who you truly are then there will be dire consequences. I shall reside within you and give you great strength." The light burrowed into his chest causing excruciating pain. Blood splattered everywhere and ribs could be heard being broke. Kai's scream travelled far, but no one heard. Tears welled in his eyes as he screamed in writhing agony; his stomach felt like it was being ripped apart. "don't worry it won't hurt for long" said the childish voice giving a little giggle at the end. Kai then passed out from the pain. "done already? That isn't fare I wanted to play more" the light said, in a sadistic tone. The darkness was then crept upon by the light and Kai disappeared, along with the ball of light inside him.
