*Special* Chapter Eighteen

We dance to the music like we were taught. We do each step, sway, and switching of our hands perfectly.

'I guess all that practice paid off.'

I stare into her eyes as we dance. She stares back into mine and I couldn't help but smile.

Eventually, other people start to come onto the dance floor as well. Even some of the professors come on as well.

When the dance ends, me and Fleur go over to the snack and punch table. We grab some punch and talk for a while. I get to know her better.

"What are you planning on doing when you graduate?" I ask her. She thinks for a moment.

"I zink I'm going to go into curse breaking." My eyes widen and I nearly choke on my drink.

"No way! My brother, Bill, does that! Maybe you'll be able to meet him." I say. She smiles.

"Really?" I nod.

"Yeah." We continue talking for a while until another slow song comes on. I hold out my hand for her.

"Wanna dance?" She giggles and nods before taking my hand. We make our way over to the dance floor. I place my hands on her waist while she places hers on my shoulders. We sway to the sounds of the violins, flutes, and  cellos that are playing from the music player thing. We both stare into each other's eyes as we dance, enjoying the peaceful silence. Just then, Fleur gets a tap on her shoulder. We both turn to find Professor Snape standing there.

"Mind if I steal your date for a dance?" He asks Fleur. Fleur looks to me and I nod. She sends me a small smile before turning back to Snape.

"Go ahead. Just not to long." She says. Snape nods and Fleur goes over to the snack table.

"Care for a short dance?" The black haired potions master asks. I chuckle a bit.

"Of course not." I say. He takes my hand and places his other hand on my waist. I place my hand on his shoulder and we start swaying to the music.

"You look very handsome tonight, Professor." I compliment. He cocks an eyebrow and hums in response. I know he would compliment me back but seeing as though he's my teacher, he'd be considered a pedo. I know Snape too well.

The song comes to an end and we step away from each other.

"Thanks for the dance. See you later, Professor Snape." I say. He nods to me and walks off. I walk over to Fleur at the snack table.

"Wanna go take a walk around the castle?" I ask. She nods and we leave the hall. We walk around the castle a bit, talking about random things, until I get an idea.

"Follow me." I say. I grab her hand and  take her to the Astronomy Tower. Once we reach the doors of the tower, I turn to her.

"Turn around." I say. She, hesitantly, turns around. I cover her eyes and guide her into the tower and over to the balcony.

"You ready?" I ask. She nods and I uncover her eyes. When I do, she gasps. All the stars of the night were shining brightly so you could see every one of them. I smile as I watch her stare at them in admiration.

"Y/N, zis is.." She trails off. I smile and look back up at the stars.

"I know." I whisper. We stare at the stars for a while, standing in silence. It was a very peaceful moment. I enjoyed this moment. I pointed out a few constellations to her. Most people would've been annoyed at my blabbering but she wasn't. She enjoyed it.

Eventually, we stood in silence once again. Only this time, I took this opportunity to observe her features. She must have sensed me staring at her because she turned to look at me. I smile at her and she smiles back. Before I knew what was happening, our lips met. I've heard people say that they felt fireworks when they kiss someone. There was no fireworks. There was no sparks. There was no electricity. There was nothing. This kiss wasn't magical like people say it is. This kiss didn't feel right but we didn't stop. This kiss didn't give me butterflies like people say it does. This kiss wasn't meant to be. It was a good kiss, it just wasn't for us.

Once we ran out of air, we pulled away. I smiled up at her and she smiled back.

"Wow." I say. She giggles and nods.

*Time Skip*

Me and Fleur have been dating for a few weeks now. Tomorrow is the second tournament and I'm trying to help her figure out what she has to do.

"It has something to do with the water. We know that for sure." I say. She nods a bit.

"Hey, why don't I go to the library and search for books to help and you can take a break for a bit?" I ask. She looks up at me and smiles.

"Zat would be great. Zank you, Y/N." I smile and give her a quick peck on the lips before leaving to go to the library. When I was halfway there, however, I was stopped by Professor McGonagall.

"Oh, Y/N, there you are. I've been looking for you. Come with me please." She motions for me to follow her.

"I'm not in trouble am I?" I ask. She chuckles.

"No. We just need you for something." I nod my head a bit and hesitantly follow her. She takes me to Dumbledores office where Cho, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, and Snape are waiting.

"Great! You're all here!" Dumbledore says.

"Yeah, why are we here?" Hermione asks in her normal stuck-up tone.

"That is because you are going to help with the second tournament. Why don't you all sit and have a cup of tea so we can discuss." We all hesitantly sit down as McGonagall pours us some tea. Dumbledore watches as we all take drinks of our tea. That's when the world goes black.

*Time Skip* 3rd Person

All the tri-wizard champions were standing on their podiums in the water as they wait for the cannon to go off. Fleur couldn't find Y/N anywhere and she was starting to get worried. Fleur was very scared that she would fail, yet another tournament and she really needed Y/N's support right now but she was nowhere to be seen. Fleur hadn't figured out what they were doing yet so she hadn't gotten anything to help her breath underwater.

When the cannon went off, everyone jumped in. Fleur blinked a few times to get used to seeing underwater. She looked to her left and say Cedric doing a bubble-mouth charm to help him breath. She quickly pulled out her wand and muttered it the best she could underwater. It worked so she started swimming around to try and find whatever it was she was supposed to find. She swam around for a while until she was met with a large squid. She tried to fight it off but failed, resulting in her leaving the water and getting disqualified.

Harry swam around for a bit as well, passing by Fleur who needed help, until he heard the same singing he heard from his golden egg. He followed it to a bunch of seaweed hiding people. He immediately swam up to Ron and figured out what he needed to do. He swam down to where Ron's ankle was tied and tried to undo it but failed. He then spotted Hermione and tried to swim over to her but the mermaids stopped him.

"But she's my friend too!" He exclaims.

"Only one!" The mermaid exclaims. Harry nods and swims back over to Ron. Just then, Cedric comes swimming and frees Cho. He sends Harry a nod of encouragement before swimming to the surface with Cho. While Harry's trying to free Ron, Viktor comes and gets Hermione, leaving Y/N and Ron to be saved. Harry finally manages to free Ron so he quickly swims to the surface. Just in time too, because his gilly weed was starting to wear off. When he reaches the surface, Ron wakes up and they quickly swim over to his platform. They get wrapped in towels and get praised by everyone.

While that's happening, Fleur is starting to panic as she realizes that Y/N is what she was supposed to find. And she failed so that means she's still down there.

"Silence!" Dumbledores voice booms. Immediately, everyone quiets down.

"Now, since Miss Delacour failed to save Miss Weasley, she was disqualified. So that leaves Cedric Diggory in first place, Viktor Krum in second, and Harry Potter in third." Dumbeldore says. Everyone erupts into cheers for their schoolmates except for the girls from Beauxbatons. Fleurs friends try to comfort her as she panics.

Meanwhile, Draco, Pansy, and Blaise were trying not to panic once they realize that their friend is trapped in the water. Professor Snape was also starting to worry but he was better at hiding it. McGonagall was worrying for her student along with Snape. All the other teachers seemed not to care that much as they clapped for Cedric and Harry. Dumbledore was to busy congratulating Harry to notice the panics around him. McGonagall and Snape go over to the headmaster.

"Excuse us, Albus." McGonagall says. Dumbledore chuckles at something Harry says before turning to the two worried Professors.

"What can I do for you?" He asks in a cheerful tone. It makes Snape clench his jaw.

"Y/N is still under the water." Snape states in his monotone voice.

"Oh! Yes, I forgot there for a moment. Uhm, I'll send someone to fetch her." He says before turning back to Harry. McGonagall and Snape send the same 'what?!' look at each other. How could  the headmaster forget about one of his own?

*Time Skip* Y/N P.O.V

I was eventually saved by the mermaids. They had saved me after a while once they realized no one was coming.

Currently, it was summer again. Voldemort was back, Cedric Diggory was killed and the other schools went back to where their from. We were staying at a new place this summer. 12 Grimmauld Place. Sirius' childhood home.

I was sitting on my bed in the boiling hot attic, I would go downstairs but I was told to stay up here, when a tap came from the window. I look up to see Fleurs owl. I smile to myself and walk over to the window. I give the bird a treat and take the letter. The owl flys off and I go back over to my bed. I open the letter and read it.

Dear Y/N,

I just want to say, I am truly sorry to write this. I found someone else and I can't live with the guilt of going behind your back so I'm letting you go. I hope that we can still be friends. If not, I understand.

I felt the tears well up in my eyes but I don't let them fall. I crinkle up the letter and throw it in the trash. I let out a sigh before laying back on the bed. I let out a dry chuckle and a shake of my head.

"Why did I even bother." I say to myself.

This is the final flashback chapter. Next chapter is going to be the Christmas Ball. And I have some, uhm, let's say ✨fun✨ plans for the next few chapters after that. This means many things 😈 get ready my people.
