Elf Power

'No, but all jokes aside, what's happening?' Gerald scratched his head as general Ulrick Aust and his soldiers left. 'Why do I feel like all the main characters of this era are all gathering here? I wonder how strong is The King if one of his generals is that powerful already…' He mused.

Then he noticed a pair of eyes watching him from a distance.

"Speaking of powerful… What are those two Elves doing?" He decided to go speak with them. Who knows, maybe they finally decided to help?

The answer was undoubtedly a no. "Help?! Why would we help?!" the male Elf shouted. "This place can get burned to the ground for all I care!"

'Yup didn't think so…' Gerald rolled his eyes and internally sighed.

"Besides who do you think you are to talk with us?" the Elf continued in an irritating tone while poking Gerald on the chest like some annoying Karen.

"A breach! We need help!" a soldier shouted from a watchtower not far away. A group of Orcs managed to overpower the defense line in one place and ran into the city. Reinforcements quickly came and surrounded them, beating them back.

Things like these happened often but most of the time the breaches were quickly patched up and reinforced. It was just that it was difficult to keep the entire wall equally manned at all times and sometimes a greater concentration of monsters attacked at once.

Luckily this time the attack was quite mild and five minutes later the situation stabilized again. All Orcs that managed to get in were killed. Well, all except one.

This one was smart. It quickly hid behind ruins of various buildings and made its way further from the wall, sneaking quietly and searching for prey. It carefully avoided groups of soldiers that were patrolling the city streets while remaining unnoticed.

Then it found a small group of people. Just three of them, how lucky! It was just getting a bit peckish, a nice snack was just what it needed.

The Orc made its way closer, saliva dripping from its mouth. Its prey was a nice-looking male. Luckily the three seemed to be arguing and were distracted. The Orc smiled. 'Perfect!'

It gathered its strength in its legs and lowered its body for a sprint.

Roar!

"Hm?!" The Elf male aggressively turned his head as an Orc roared and jumped at him, sharp teeth and claws just a few short meters away from him.

"Foul beast!" the guy shouted. He released Gerald who was already at his limit from listening to the Elf's rambling, and kicked.

Snap!

The Orc's muscular leg snapped like a twig and its knee suddenly bent the wrong way. Before it even had the time to process what happened, a knee came flying at it.

Bam!

It struck it right under the chin, making the Orc fly back and crash on the ground like a sack of rotten fruit. Blood started oozing from its mouth.

"You piece of trash!" the Elf shouted. He stepped on the Orc's chest and grabbed it by the shoulders.

"You think a disgusting creature like you is allowed to touch one such as myself?! Me?! Vayir Grekian, an Elf of noble blood?!" He pulled hard.

Rip!

The sickening sound of muscle tearing came from the beast as it roared in pain. Vayir tore off both its hands like he was tearing paper. Blood sprouted everywhere.

"Pui! A quick death would be too kind for one such as yourself," he spat.

Vayir then proceeded to beat the living shit out of the Orc, using its own hands as clubs no less. Soon the once-proud Orc was reduced to a bloody pulp. Not even its mother would be able to recognize it.

... Oh wait, she was already dead.

Gerald was at a loss. He even wondered who was crueler, the disgusting-looking Orcs, or this devil with the body of a beautiful prince. He knew that Elves were strong, but this… This was just too much!

He was aware of the Orc trying to attack them as he was observing it with his mind's eye the entire time, but clearly, Vayir wasn't blind either.

It seemed they both were just waiting to see how the other would react. Unfortunately for the Elf, he became the target, and Gerald still remained an unknown variable in his eyes.

The sudden attack somehow disrupted the entire flow of the conversation, and with the Elf being bloody from top to bottom, the pair decided to leave. They still kept an eye on Gerald though, all the way until they disappeared in the distance.

Gerald watched them leave and scratched his head. The entire situation was so bizarre!

"I know, right? They are so weird!" He looked at the bloody corpse and gave a thin smile. "You really shouldn't have roared. What's the point of a sneak attack if you announce your arrival?"

"I know, I know… But you are dead now, so just shut up and let me absorb you."

He sat down and absorbed the unwilling spirit of the dead Orc. It barely took a minute.

Perhaps it was time to do a flyover across the city just in case. You never know when another Orc could be sneaking around doing damage. This place was his home now, the least he could do was give it a look.

And so, as he was flying in the sky, Gerald came up with a song that suited his mood:

"I am flying in the sky~

Absorbing the spirits of all that die~

Today and tomorrow, I will not drown in sorrow~

For I am free, for I am free..."

I'm really in a bad mood atm, but whatever...

Here you go, another chap that I wrote today.
