28 Wedding party

Ava matched into the hall entrance where Maxwell was standing with five men behind him which she assumed to be his friends. She recognized Eric amongst them. They all had the same flowers of green and white on their coats.

Maxwell was mesmerized on seeing her. Her beauty was stunning.

"Seems you didn't make the wrong choice." Eric whispered into his ears as he was referring to Ava's beauty.

"Trust the hand of Max." He replied back with a sided smile. Ava glittered under the sun as she walked towards her husband- to- be.

"Welcome my wife. Hope you like the surprise?" Maxwell asked her.

"I love it but I love you more." She said to him sweetly as she beamed with smiles.

"Hmm…" He murmured as he eyed her with a one sided smile.

"Shall we?" He said to her as he curved his right hand. She put her hand in it and they walked into the hall, with their friends following behind while Eric and Julie were immediately behind them.

Ava was so stunned to see how beautiful and magnificent the hall was. There were lots of people in it and not just common people but people of high social class. Ava never believed that she could have such a wedding. She was on the verge of tears when Maxwell leaned to her ears.

"You live on air…don't ruin your beautiful face in public." He whispered into her ears.

"What?" The word escaped through her lips as she couldn't believe it. Her eyes popped out. He smirked at her then looked towards his front and continued walking into the hall. Ava decided to control herself. Julie heard everything as she was a bit close to Ava.

"You heard him, hold it back sister and you can cry all you want during your honeymoon." Julie said to Ava. On the thought of a honeymoon, Ava remembered their first kiss…she and Maxwell. Maxwell also did the same as they both looked at each other, then looked away unexpectedly. Maxwell frowned on the thought of taking a woman into his bed tonight.

"Can't happen." He said to himself in a low voice that Ava couldn't hear because of the noise in the hall. People were cheering them as they came in.

The wedding went in full swing, the cake was cut, they danced, ate and partied all day.

After the wedding, the bride was escorted to her groom's car. Eric was behind the wheel as Maxwell and Ava sat at the back.

Ava yawned loudly and clumsily. Maxwell scoffed as he turned his face one side. I wondered why he acted that way. She yawned again as though she wasn't expecting it for the second time. Eric wanted to laugh but he held it back. Maxwell looked at him as he cleared his throat. Ava looked at the both of them and noticed Maxwell's reaction.

"Is my mouth smelling?" She asked herself as she opened her mouth and perceived her breath on her palm. Maxwell looked at her and frowned, then looked away.

"Is my mouth smelling?" She asked shamelessly. She was drowsy with sleep.

"No!" Maxwell replied in a husky voice.

"Then why are you acting like you don't like me yawning?" She asked him with surprise.

"You don't know how to." He replied coldly.

"Why are you being mean?" She asked back.

"What mean word did I say?" He asked her as though he didn't say anything.

"Never mind." She replied as she looked away.

"Don't talk to your husband that way!" Maxwell found himself cautioning her, as his wife. He collected himself together and cleared his throat again, as if embarrassed by what he said. Ava ignored him as she was feeling sleepy.

Everyone was quiet. After a few minutes, Ava began to slump as her head fell out of position. She continued this way, hitting the car window.

"Hey! Don't break my glass!" He cautioned her. She opened her eyes and pretended not to be asleep.

"I'm not sleeping." She replied coldly also, trying to act tough.

"You better not." He replied.

She couldn't take it anymore as her head kept falling out of place until it landed on Maxwell's leg. He took away his hand and placed it on the car seat.

"You okay there?" Eric asked him as he watched them from the rear mirror in the car.

"Yes." Maxwell replied.

Maxwell felt like pushing her away from his body but he couldn't. He just watched her helplessly as she slept like a baby on his leg.

"Won't you rest your hand? It's going to get sour." Eric advised.

"I'm fine." Maxwell said to him again.

"If you say so." Eric replied as he focused on his driving.

After driving for so long, Maxwell's arm began to ache. He felt like dropping it but he didn't want to touch Ava. He even pushed himself towards the car seat body to avoid his body from touching her. He cursed inwards as he struggled with the pain. Eric seemed to have noticed this but didn't want to get scolded again so he kept quiet.

"How long before we get there?" Maxwell asked Eric.

"A few more minutes." Eric replied.

Maxwell closed his eyes as he took a deep breath as if that would help. He was greatly tired and annoyed at the same time.

"Send the pictures and videos to my memory. Tag the chairman and everyone before posting it, let it go viral. Tag her ex too…Austin or whatever he is called. I'll personally take the photos and videos to Sebastian in the prison myself." Maxwell instructed Eric.

"Okay…but why mingling with the past? Shouldn't you let them go?" Eric asked Maxwell.

"As you wish." Maxwell replied as he couldn't bear with the pain anymore. Ava woke up and saw herself lying on Maxwell's legs. She froze as she was scared and shy at the same time. She pretended to still be ssletas she closed back her eyes tightly and cursed within her.

Maxwell didn't know that she was awake. He just endured it more until Eric pulled over a big mansion.

"We are here." Eric said.

"Finally." Ava sighed within her.
