8 Stop distracting my partner

Eric did as he was told. He didn't search for who Ava Smith is for Maxwell but rather, he did his own personal research on her forehead r himself. He wanted to know who this lady was and what connections she had with Maxwell.

He didn't tell anyone about this lady. He didn't want it to get leaked to Maxwell. On a second thought, Maxwell is ordered for her to be found and punished. Now Eric was confused on what to do.

Maxwell began with his search. He googled who Ava Smith was but there were many of them. He searched for their information to see if anyone matched with some details of Maxwell but none did. Eric had done his research but couldn't seem to find this girl, Ava Smith.

Maxwell got a call on his phone from a client. He was asked to meet with him at Bekini's restaurant. A representative was going to hand over the papers to him there as he was out of town. Maxwell did as he was told. Money was the only thing that eased his pain and anger. It eased him of his bad mood only for just a moment as he still couldn't take off the smiling face of Ava, the kiss stuck to his memory.

He was going to the restaurant by evening after he made a call with the representative, who also happens to be the driver of the client. Maxwell was already at Bekini's restaurant. He already met with the representative.

"Greetings Mr. Evans." The representative greeted Maxwell on his arrival as he pulled the chair and took a seat.

"Yeah good day. You are…?" Maxwell asked, going straight to the point.

"I am Edwards but you can call me Jasper. The driver is Mr. Larson." The representative introduced himself with a handshake.

"Good Mr. Edwards. How has he been and the company?" Maxwell asked as he scrutinized this man sitting beside him.

"Here sir. He sent me to deliver this package to you but you have to sign these papers first." Edwards said to him.

"Sure." Maxwell replied. He went through the papers over a glass of wine.

Jason had already sent his driver to pick Ava up. He told him not to tell her anything about where he was taking her to as it was a surprise. The car stopped as the driver pulled over. Ava believed that they had arrived. The driver got down and opened the door for her. She was so magnificent. He led her into Bekini's restaurant and went back into the car.

Ava was left alone now to find her date, Jason. She didn't really know how he looked exactly. As she was still trying to figure out where he was, she saw the back of a man who looked just like Jason. He was also sitting all alone so she believed him. She walked towards him with smiles on her face as she felt nervous. She was about to touch him on his back when someone came back to take a seat.

"Ava?" Jasper called out to her in surprise.

"You." She replied as she was shocked to see him there. Before another word could be exchanged, she turned her face immediately.

"Who are you talking to?" Maxwell asked Jasper as he heard the name sounded familiar.

"I…I'm sorry sir…it's nothing." Jasper apologized as he sat down back. Jason saw Ava and walked up to her, giving her his hand. She accepted it and went over to where he sat which was adjacent to Maxwell's table but a little bit far away.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting…I was having difficulty with finding you." Ava apologetically said as her mind couldn't stop thinking of what just happened now.

What was her ex doing there? Was this all planned out by her sister? Was that why she told her to take this date as a revenge and made her look more beautiful? Ava's mind drifted to so many thoughts but she couldn't help it.

"Hello pretty. So I heard your name is Ava. Actually, your sister has said a lot of things about you and I find you really interesting. So, can I know you better?" Jasper asked as he admired her.

"Hello…? Are you with me?" Jason asked her as he noticed her attention wasn't with him.

"Oh erm…yes…yes sure." She shuttered and let out a giggle, pretending to be with him.

"Okay, in that case, let me make an order. What would you like to have?" Jason asked Ava sweetly.

"Water will just be fine." She replied.

Jason called the waiter and ordered the most expensive wine. Ava felt uncomfortable as Jasper kept staring at her.

Maxwell on the other hand thought that he had heard wrong when the man seated in his front called the name, Ava.
