1 Encounter with Sebastian

Sherbrooke, Canada. 23:00.

Ava smith, a twenty three year old waiter is dressed in white sleeves and black jeans with a red apron tied around her waist. Her hair is braided to the back of her head in a french curve style with the tip of it being held tight in a black small ribbon.

She handles the broom in her hand as she sweeps the restaurant, dusting the tables and cleaning the chairs including the bar section when she was done sweeping. She goes into the other section of the restaurant and reappears with a mop and a bucket in her hand. She begins to mop the floors, squeezing the mop when it was soaked with enough water. She had just finished mopping and turned the mop braids for the last time.

She turned the card at the restaurant front that read "open" to "closed." She picked up the bucket and mop and headed for the other inner section of the restaurant when she heard footsteps behind her.

"Ms. smith, you're still around?" Austin, her boss and manager of the restaurant called out to her.

"Yes sir. You haven't gone?" She asked him as she was surprised to also see him at the restaurant.

"I did leave but I forgot my house keys…that's enough for now. Let me drop you off after I've gotten my keys from the counter. This is past eleven." Austin probed further.

"That's fine sir…I was about to leave anyway... I'll just change now." Ava politely replied as she returned in.

"Come in, let me drop you off." Austin honked at Ava as he saw her trekking to the road to catch a taxi.

"Don't worry sir." She tried to argue further but he insisted on her getting in.

"Thank you Mr. Austin." Ava showed her appreciation.

"It's nothing. It's not good for beautiful and young girls like you to be on the street at this time of the day." Austin remarked and Ava shyly let out a dry smile.

"You look tired. Let me hurry up and drop you off so you can rest. How is your mum's health?" He inquired of her.

"She is getting better, thanks." Ava politely replied.

"That's good to hear. My regards to her please."

"Sure. You can pull over that lane sir." Ava pointed at where she was to drop and Austin pulled over. She alighted from the car after waving Austin bye. She walked over the lane to her apartment when she noticed headlights flashing directly at her from the adjacent lane. Ava used her hand to shield her eyes from the bright white lights before it turned off. She looked at the familiar car and sighed.

"Not again." She muttered under her breath as she let out a heavy sigh.

Ava crossed over to the lane where the red sports car was parked. She dipped her hand in her jeans' pocket and pulled out some red bills then hands them over to the man through the car window after knocking the glass window.

The door got opened and a man got out of the car. He wore a pale green short sleeves without fixing the first three buttons hence, exposing his bare and hairy chest. He has a silver chain on his neck. Dark spiky haircut with shades on. He wore some rough pants that had stripes on the knee with a pair of canvas. His dressing was like that of a thug.

"This is your money Mr. Debanka and I hope you don't come here to bother us again." Ava snapped carelessly at her loan shark as she handed the money to him but turned her face to the other side to avoid looking at him.

Sebastian Debanka smiled mockingly with his two outgrown teeth revealing themselves. He looked at Ava's hand while still smiling and returned his gaze at her. He snatched the bills from her hand.

"Thank you." Ava replied as she turned to leave but Sebastian pulled her by the hand, jerking her backwards as she lost her balance but he was quick enough to hold her with one hand on her back and the other, holding her hand. She looked at him twice before pushing him away from her and turned to leave.

"Not so fast Ava. What were you thinking? That you have paid all your debts and are no longer indebted to me? That you can just walk out on me freely because you feel you now have the money to pay back? Is that why you are acting all arrogant and giving me such attitude?" Sebastian hollered at Ava as she held her breath, fuming with anger but tried to calm down.

"I am sorry." Ava replied apologetically but she didn't say those words from her heart.

"Well…your money is of no use now." Sebastain said to Ava as he turned to look at her.

"What do you mean?" She asked him with a curious but irritated face.

"You paid late." Sebastian replied.

"Today is the last day I'm to pay you. Today is the deadline and I have made payments already." Ava huffed at Sebastain.

"Well, what time is it?" Sebastain asked her.

"I don't know…why? What has time got to do with this?" She asked him carelessly.

"Well. It's past twelve already sweetheart and that means you've passed the deadline. I also gave you time. I told you 9 pm prompt." Sebastain tried to blackmail her.

"Well in that case..." Ava started as she dipped her hand in her pocket and pulled out some crumbled notes of different currencies.

"Take these. It's all that I have. I just don't want you to bother us again. Please sir." Ava replied as she handed the money to Sebastain.

"I don't need your money. I need something else." He sneered.

"What do you want?" Ava asked him as she was already burning up with anger and impatience in her but she didn't want to let her emotions to control her.

"I want you. Spend the night with me and I promise not to only leave you alone but also return all your money and clear your debts myself." Sebastain replied to her without any sense of shame in him.

"I am not coming with you. I don't need your money neither am I taking back my money. Leave me alone Mr. Sebastain Debanka!" Ava remonstrated as she pulled herself away.

Sebastain looked around and observed the quiet and empty neighborhood then pulled her and forced her to the floor. She screamed but his large hands covered her mouth, turning her screams to mumbling.

He removed his belt and started to undress her as she tried to fight back. She hit him hard with her elbow in between his legs as he groaned in pain. She got up and staggered away from him to the back of the car by the roadside.

"You like it rough, huh? No matter how much you scream, no one can hear you. You are mine tonight whether we do it in my room or on the street." Sebastain threatened her as he rushed towards her and pulled her by the shirt which got ripped because of his strong hold.

"Don't try to run! No one can save you from Sebastain. Hahahaha…." He snarled at her as he laughed so hard which scared the life out of Ava.
