"Nice! I got ten stat points and ten skill points, though it's a lot less considering the amount of stuff this thing gobbled up like M&M's" I thought to myself as I absentmindedly put the meat in my mouth and took a big bite.

I then saw a list of rewards appear, I could only choose only one so I got to choose

"System! a little info on the skills please, thank you" I requested, it was better to be cautious of what I get

[Berserker skill][Evolved][Takes 2 points per level]

Greatly increases the users stats excluding wisdom for an hour, cooldown of 3 hours and causes user stats to be halved for two hours

[Run with the Wind][Evolved][2 point per lvl]

Increases the Agility by 3 times the original stat, eats up on endurance, No cooldown

[Powered Strike][Normal][1 point per level]

doubles the attack power of the attack

Eats up on endurance , cooldown of 5 seconds

[Genius]

[User is able to learn stuff faster, Charisma increases, User is not deceived easily, User training time reduced, extra stats gained after each successful training session]

Looking at the info on the skills,I had a really hard time choosing, my favorites were Genius and Run with the Wind, An increase of 3 times was really great, my agility will be multiplied by 3 if I use this skill, on the other hand, however, I will become a genius, both in literal sense and will be getting extra stats

After carefully thinking for a while I decided it was best to get Genius, who knows how I will be able to get it later.

I don't consider myself a genius and the stats gathering speed is really slow for me, who knows how slow it will be once I hit Rank 8.

"System, I want the Genius skill"

As soon as the skill was ingrained in me, I felt like some of the previously unsolved problems were easily solvable now.

I feel like if I fight those three bastards again, I can finish them up in half the time.but I also had the decency to know that sudden power might get to my head and kill me.

"I will think about that later...for now, system, assign 15 points to agility and the rest , put them in strength"

Immediately I felt myself grow strong, like I was being pumped with fast acting drugs that are used by crazyads to give you sudden strength increases.

"How much time will it take and am I defenseless during said time" I asked, half surprised that I even came up with such a thought

[Thirty minutes of excruciating pain and immobility]

I decided this was a good place as any, taking a piece of stone, covering it with a cloth,I took it in my mouth and commanded the system to begin.

The next second I was assaulted with the worst pain that I have felt in my life.

My muscles felt like they were being twisted and drained of blood, My eyes felt like they were being pulled , my head hurt as if I was under some kind of murderous torture.I shouldn't have agreed to this...but then I won't become stronger

After what felt like an eternity but was only a total of thirty minutes,I finally got up and threw away the pieces of stone in my mouth,I had unknowingly crushed them under the effects of that immeasurable pain.

I took out a water sac from the storage and took a good water bath,before I was feeling clean enough,

Once I sat down,I opened the status

"Nice! seems like the system wasn't stingy this time, or maybe it's the effect of my genius skill that I was able to get extra stat points,I did go through some intense pain" I couldn't help but think to myself

[The extra stats are allotted after a successful rank ascension, Genius skill also played a role in getting more then allotted stats]

"I think I made a really good investment by getting this skill, haha!" I couldn't help but feel happy about these series of coincidences,I wouldn't admit, but a small part of me now feels happy about everything that happened

"Hope you are alive, Yoru...on second thought, if he is alive,I might be asked to return the stuff...please die"

I prayed to whoever god or diety or devil was listening to fulfill my wish.

"It's decided,I will train here for another year and then start something else,can't go back to Hage anymore, not safe for me and those that I hold dear"

I mumbled to myself, as I put the beautifully crafted stone pillar ahead of me in my sights

If someone is keeping an eye on Hage for my wait, or if someone wants to investigate me, or if Yoru is alive and my secret is out,I will be hunted in the least and they might kill my family jn the worst case.lets just hope they think I am gone for good.

With that conviction,I decided to keep training and earning as much points as I can in one year
