24 Magic Knights Exam 

The magic knights examination site was situated in one of the large cities in the common realm . It was a giant colosseum with statues of each wizard king made on its top with the first wizard king at the highest with his iconic four leaf grimoire .The streets around the site was full of shops selling different kind of goods. It felt more like a festival than examination . It was an auspicious moment after all . Joining the magic knights was one of the most respected jobs out there . Only royals or people chosen by captain were granted direct entry to the squad for commoners and nobles this was a chance to prove themselves .

I rented a spot for keeping my luggage nearby and joined the line for registration .

There were hundreds of people competing which included commoners as well as nobles of every age group form people in their teens to thirties. It was easy to distinguish a noble and a commoner here as Nobles dressed extravagantly .I wore a half sleeve red shirt and black jeans and with my pure black hair with red eyes gave me a handsome look .

Finally after waiting for like almost an hour my turn came . I presented my grimoire confirming my age . " F.ff..for..four leaf grimore! " the receptionist exclaimed drawing everyone's attention towards me .

'That guy got a four leaf grimoire!' ,some mobs exclaimed which I just ignored and ask for my no. plate . I got no.70 and entered the stadium .

I didn't diminish my mana so anti birds didn't flock near me earning shock and jealousy from some people .I never understood the logic behind anti birds but didn't ponder upon that as it was not important . By now the news of four leaf grimoire was spread among the crowd earning me strange looks from the crowd .

After all participants had entered an aura was unleashed upon the crowd drawing everyone's attention signifying that captains were entering . The doors of the colosseum was closed with magic knights surrounding the crowd to stop if things go wrong .

First one to enter was Jack the ripper of Praying mantis followed by Rill of Aqua deer , Fuegoelon of Crimson Lions , Charlotte of Blue rose , Dorothy of Coral peacocks ,Yami of black bulls and Finally William of Golden dawn each with one of their squad members . Captain of Purple orca and Silver Eagles didn't bother to come and only sent one of their squad members not that I care about them anyways . Yami recognized me and grinned like an idiot .

The crowd started cheering for the captains specially William Vangeance . I looked towards Charlotte and she was truly the most beautiful woman I had ever seen . Rill had stars in his eyes Dorothy was sleepwalking ,Fuegoleon had a neutral face while William had his smile .

William Vangeance took the mic and announced " CANDIDATED , NOW THE EXAMS HAVE OFFICIALLY BEGAN .WE WILL TAKE DIFFERENT TESTS TO CHECK YOUR APTITUDE ,DO YOUR BEST IF YOU WANT TO BE CHOSEN AS A MAGIC KNIGHT " he took out his grimoire and said " world tree magic: descent "

After he casted his spell a giant tree emerged from center of the stadium and provided everyone with a broom .

" FOR YOU FIRST TEST, YOU HAVE TO FLY USING YOUR BROOM ".

Using a broom to fly was the first mana application people learn . If a person can float with it ,he has just has borderline mana control , if he can fly freely ,he has basic mana control

I noticed people trying to fly ,some just floated while some tried to go a small distant before falling .

I decided to flex my mana control , I stood above my broom and made a complete lap around the participants like Yuno did in the original series . Captains seemed to be amazed by my performance but some nobles eyed me with hostility , haha such it losers .

The next test was firing spells at ten moving targets made by Rill followed by Forming shapes out of mana , standing under chaotic mana fluctuation, test for healing magic etc and I flexed in all of them .

"THIS IS THE FINAL TEST OF COMBAT , YOUR FINAL EVALUATION WILL DEPEND ON IT , GIVE YOUR BEST AND SHOW US YOUR WORTH"

Everyone started to find their opponents weaker than them , people avoided me like plague but finally some noble had guts to challenge me . He pointed at me and said " You there insect ,fight me ,if you manage to impress me maybe I can make you my servant " .

Here come the arrogant young master who don't realize their place . Well time to thrash a Noble .

The referee announced the start of the match , he started giving his monologue how good he and his family was , I didn't bother listening or answering him and fired a normal fire ball to check his magic type . He countered it by firing a water ball vaporizing it .

" If your attacks are just this level you might as well give up ,you grimoire is just for show how about selling it to me " . Damn this guy trash talks too much . He used many spells which I just countered with small spells . He kept thinking that I was unable to react under his attacks which increased his ego more .

After enough showoff I didn't bother holding back , I summoned a ball of red flames about diameter of 1m and blasted him . He tried using a water attack but my flaming destroyed the water spell and hit him hard . Just we was about to crash into a wall , a large fist of flames formed on top of his head smashing him to the ground hard creating a crater . He couldn't handle the attack and directly fainted . Serves him right I guess.

The entire stadium went silent seeing the fight .

For others it may seem that I was fighting him equally and got lucky at the last hit but for the captains it was different . They could see that I put minimal efforts in my spells only to destroy his spells . Each of my attack had same amount of mana with pin point accuracy . More over I didn't move a muscle in the entire fight .

" He was already grasped the law of his magic " said Fuegoleon with the captains agreeing in unison .

" The level of his accuracy and mana control is terrifying for his age " said Charlotte

" No.70 wins ,please step out of the ring " after I stepped out recovery mages carried him somewhere to heal . The rest of the matches were quite boring so I just stood at the corner . By them time all battels were over it was evening . Some nobles quit after loosing their battle because it was too much for their pride . What was the use of pride if can't do shit.

"NOW THE BATTLE IS OVER ,THE CAPTAINS INTRESTED WILL RAISE THEIR HANDS FOR OFFERS , IF MORE THAN ONE HANDS ARE RAISED , THE CANDIDATE MAY CHOOSE THE SQUAD"

:: inner thoughts::

William : I know he is not an elf by his aura but something fells wrong about him , he is an unstable factor . He would cause trouble for me if I have him in the squad .

Yami : This brat is showing off again , this guy is reckless but responsible . Although I only get outlaws to join my squad but I need someone responsible too . I didn't invite him to my squad earlier because he didn't have his grimoire yet but now I can invite him .

Charlotte : Although I have men in my squad , they only have position of lackey , I don't think the four leaf boy will have enough growth in my squad of I don't personally intervein .

After a short break ,captains started choosing candidate according to their needs. " no 70 step forward " finally my turn came and I stepped forward . Hands started raising one by one at the end 6 out of 9 hands were raised . Those were Jack, Yami , Rill , Fuegoelon , Charlotte and Dorothy.

The crowd was in shock ...it was beyond their comprehension that all the captains could raise their hands for someone among them .

In the last few months I have thought a lot about best environment to grow and become strong without hindrance and too much trouble . I looked at the captains and dropped the bomb...

"I CHOOSE TO JOIN THE BLACK BULLS "
