8 Chapter 8 — A Spar with the Future Wizard King

Julius has only been here for a few minutes, but I can't quite get what he said out of my mind.

My magic could do incredible things just like my ancestors, but they mainly focus on the business side of things.

Plus with the threats that are coming in the future I'll need to be able to fight, I also want to make living easier for the non Nobles of the Clover Kingdom.

Maybe giving the commoners someone to look up to could also help. My family is well known so I could use that as-well to benefit and help everyone who isn't a Noble.

"I've decided" I say to my self as I rush out of my room and down the stairs towards the living room to look for my parents.

"Mom, Dad!?" I call out as I enter the living room.

"Yes son?" my dad says from the chair he's resting on.

"Where's Julius gone?" I ask him

"Oh he just left" my mother says as she enters the room.

"He should b..."

I didn't even catch what my mom was saying as I had already launched myself out the front door.

Bolting down the pavement that leads to my home, I quickly spot Julius walking towards the town.

JULIUS!" I shouted out to him. I see him turn around and look at me with a bright grin. 'Damn bastard probably sensed me a mile away' I silently think to my self.

"Ah Minato we meet again" Julius says with a grin.

"How you come to a decision?" He asks

"I'm not entirely sure just yet, but I'd like to ask you for a spar" I tell him

"Spar? Against me?" He questions

"Yes" I tell him

"Well if it will help you, I'll gladly accept your challenge" Julius responds

"Let's use that forest, don't want to cause any damage to the Town now do we?" He says while gesturing towards the forest where we first met.

"Yes of course" I say as we both head into the forest.

In just a few minutes we come to a small clearing in the forest, that's just big enough for us to have our spar.

"Well Minato come at me when ever your ready" Julius tells me with a somewhat cocky grin.

With out answering him I immediately launch 6 kunai all around the clearing, 3 from each hand. I then bolt at Julius with a [Rasengan] formed in my hand.

But just as I'm about to land my [Rasengan] on Julius he vanishes from my sight, I do quickly sense him a couple steps behind me. So releasing the [Rasengan] in my hand I quickly throw a kunai at Julius.

To which he simply stands still as the kunai completely missed him, just like I planned.

I immediately teleport to my kunai using my [Flying Thunder God] and I end up right behind Julius. I form a [Rasengan] and attempt to slam it straight into his back.

But before it could land a blue sphere appears around the [Rasengan] completely stopping the attack but before my hand touch's the sphere I teleport to one of the kunai tossed earlier.

"Your very impressive Minato, to create such techniques so young and your reflexes are incredible aswell. Truly impressive" Julius comments nonchalantly, just before he vanishes from both my sight and magic sense.

"But you don't have enough experience" I hear from right behind me, before I could teleport away I'm trapped in the same blue sphere Julius used to stop my [Rasengan].

"Looks like I win this one" Julius says while smiling brightly.

I don't answer him, I just try and think of an escape but I'm unable to because I can feel my connection to the kunai I threw earlier.

"Huh I surrender" I say with a sigh.

Julius then releases me from his blue sphere.

"Let ask you Minato why did I win?" Julius asks me.

"Well for one you've already seen the techniques I used in our spar, plus you have far more experience" I answer.

"Correct Minato but your missing one very important part of my win" Julius says full of smiling now.

"What?" I say frowning.

"What I'm fighting for, you see I have a goal that I'm willing to die for, you on the other hand don't have a goal or a life mission" Julius tells me then he ruffles my hair.

"So find your goal, I also truly believe that magic Knights will help you in finding your goal and achieving it" He continues.

Now that he mentions it I don't really have a Goal, yes I want to stop the Elf's and the dark Triad but I don't have my own life goal, dealing with those threats is for safety reasons only. I'll just have to find one of my own.

"I'll see you in 5 years young Minato" Julius says taking my out of my inner thoughts.

"Yes you will" I say with a bright smile coming onto my face.

(A/N: I know some of you might have wanted the spar to last longer, but I wanted the MC to see how far behind he is compared to Julius. As Julius is overwhelmingly powerful, as in the anime he was actually holding back against Licht to not hurt Williams body)
