Chapter 13: Dungeon Part 1

About 2 days had passed since the black market situation.

Most of the Black Bulls were currently chilling in the lobby area, having nothing to do as there were currently no missions.

Yami entered the room, gaining the attention of everyone in the room - Which included Luck, Magna, Vanessa, Noelle, Asta and Suzaku.

"Heads up guys, a new dungeon was discovered" He dropped the announcement like it was nothing, causing the members to be silenced for a few seconds to suck in the news.

"A DUNGEON!?" They yelled simulatenously.

"Is that for real, Mister Yami!?" Magna asked, shaking in excitement.

"WOAHHHHH!" Asta cheered before turning his head to Magna, "What's a dungeon?" He asked bluntly, causing Magna to comedically drop on the floor.

"Are you forreal!? You don't know what dungeons are!?" Magna yelled, unsure how Asta could possibly not know what a dungeon was.

"No, that's why I asked-" Asta innocently replied, but Magna ignored it as he proceeded to explain what a dungeon was to Asta - though he said it loud enough for everybody to hear.

"Dungeons are like ancient tombs. They hold relics left behind by WAAAYYYY back then!

Sometimes they've got methods for super-ultra-awesome strong spells, and super-valuable magical items! They're awesome!" Magna answered passionately.

"But the people from back then left behind traps so that bad, evil people wouldn't enter and take all the treasure, which makes it more fun!" Luck added cheerfully.

"Because of the danger, and so that people don't take the treasure for malicious purposes, the magic knights usually enter the dungeon and loot it" Vanessa added onto the explanation more, not forgetting to take another sip out of her wine.

"Especially this dungeon" Yami stated menacingly as Asta kept nodding his head, "It showed up near the border of a hostile country! 

This has to be done perfectly the first time so that they don't take the treasure for themselves" He said, "There's also been past experiences of people entering the dungeons and finding magical items powerful enough to change a civilisation...

And others being able to use ultimate magic" These words caught Asta's interest as he passionately put his hand up

"Me! Me! LET ME GOOO!!" He begged, causing Yami to pull out a piece of paper from his pocket.

"Sure, kid. The Wizard King specially requested for you to loot the dungeon," Yami's words shocked Asta, but there was no room for words as Yami then turned to Suzaku

"And you too, the Wizard King requested for you to go as well" He announced, causing Suzaku to smile

"Should be fun" He replied, 'Finally, something fun!' He shook in excitement.

"Wait wait" Asta then butted in in shock as he screamed, "THE WIZARD KING ASKED FOR US!?"

"That's awesome, Asta! Suzaku! Did you meet the Wizard King somewhere or something!?" Magna cheered for them in support, happy for the newbie members and friends.

"Not that I know of... then again, I don't know what the Wizard King looks like, so probably" Suzaku shrugged, acting oblivous.

Meanwhile, Asta was crying to himself in joy at the opportunity given to him and Suzaku.

"You guys can go now, this is the location" Yami then handed Suzaku a paper with the location, "Luck, Noelle, you two will join them. Off you go" 

"Wait, wha-" Noelle was shocked and wanted to ask more questions, but she was interrupted by Yami's face scrunching and his aura erupting ominously.

"Don't question me. I need a shit... so go, now." He said, causing Noelle to scurry next to Suzaku and Asta as she pushed them out of the hideout to run away from Yami.

A few hours later, the 4 entered the dungeon and were now walking down a dark tunnel.

"EXCUSE ME! Could you not step on my foot!" Noelle screamed in pain and complaint, having had someone step on her foot, "This foot is worth more than your house!"

"I can't help it! It's pitch-black!" Asta screamed back, "And hey! It may be true, but that doesn't give you right to say it!"

"IT'S DARK BECAUSE YOU DROPPED THE LIGHT!" Noelle argued.

Luck and Suzaku, on the other hand, were both calm as they walked through the tunnel using their mana sensing to lead them safely.

'It's nice to be a lightning user' Suzaku thought happily, having received good mana sensing capabilities because of it.

Another reason it was good was due to the magic stat, which increased all capabilities to do with his magic, including mana sense as well - This meant his mana sensing was most likely even better than Luck's currently.

Eventually, after more arguments between Noelle and Asta, the 4 eventually arrived in a big room filled with water, pathways, bridges, etc everywhere.

Whether it was the roof, the floor they were on, or the walls on every side, the layout was the same.

"WOAHHHHHH! What is this place!?" Asta had stars in his eyes as he looked at the beautiful yet interesting scenery.

"Looks like the space got warped by magic" Luck answered as he looked around, "The mana floating in here is way stronger than outside"

"I've never seen a place so full of mana" Noelle agreed as she felt the mana in the space.

"Really?" Asta turned to Suzaku, to which he nodded in response, causing Noelle to ask

"Wait, you're telling me you can't feel this mana?!" 

The question caused Suzaku to facepalm as he answered for Asta, "Of course he can't, he doesn't have mana at all. For a royal, you can be quite dumb sometimes" 

 "Sh-Shut up!" Noelle's face turned red in anger and embarrassment as she hid her face, unable to fight Suzaku's words.

"Hm..." Luck hummed to himself as he looked at the ground, unbeknownst to Noelle and Asta, "Hey, Asta! Come here!" Luck waved

"Oh, what's up Luck?" Asta asked, not ready for what Luck was about to do.

"Look at this" Luck pointed at the floor, which confused Asta and Noelle as nothing was there.

"I can't see nothi-" Asta turned around, not expecting to be pushed by Luck.

*Brztt* 

Underneath Asta's foot, a magic circle formed which shot out ice spikes.

Fortunately, due to all the physical training, Asta's reflexes and speed allowed him to pull out his anti-magic sword and slice the ice trap.

"WAARGGHH! WHAT THE HELL!?" Asta screamed at Luck, confused as to why he had pushed him onto a trap, "I COULDA DIED MAN!!"

"But you didn't! Hahaha! Look, here's some more!" Luck replied with a crazy smile as he proceeded to purposely step on every magic trap for the sake of 'fun'.

"Hahaha! That was fun!" Luck laughed, not acknowledging a charred, dirty, half-dead Noelle and Asta.

"Pfft! You guys look awful" Suzaku put his hand over his mouth in an attempt to hide his laugh a little.

'If we stay with this guy... we'll die!' Noelle and Asta were unable to reply as they were stunned from the events that had taken place since a few minutes ago.

Luck decided to trigger every single trap in the room, and for some reason they all appeared to target Asta and Noelle in some way.

Meanwhile Suzaku and Luck were just on the side-line with nothing happening to them.

"This is great! That anti-magic sword of yours is really awesome! Maybe that's why the wizard king chose yo-" Luck happily said, but was cut off by his mana sense reacting to a strong source of mana, 'I knew it! There were others here...' 

One would expect a person to panic if they felt a strong opponent... but luck wasn't an ordinary person.

Instead, his face showed a sadistic smile as he thought 'I'm close to my limit...' He then activated his [Lightning Creation Magic: Holy lightning boots] as he jumped over the other 3 and said

"Something important just came up! You guys go ahead and explore the dungeon!" Luck laughed as he blitzed through a hallway, leaving Suzaku, Noelle and Asta by themselves.

"...What the hell just happened?" Noelle muttered

"Wow, he's fast! He's gotten faster since your fight!" Asta said as he looked to Suzaku, referring to the spar they had for the baptism.

"*sigh*... honestly-" Noelle sighed, but suddenly a massive plant - which Luck had activated accidentally - captured Noelle with its vines.

"Drat!" 'A high-level plant creation magic!' She thought in a panic as she looked at the plant trap which had entangled her.

"RUNNN!" Asta hurriedly sliced through the vines, freeing Noelle.

Unfortunately, Asta had gotten himself trapped as he was now being held up by the plant's vines.

'Here they are' Suzaku thought as he turned to a pathway from above.

[Wind Creation Magic: Wind Blade Shower] 

A large quantity of wind blades launched itself at the plant trap, completely destroying which freed Asta as a result.

"I expected you to be able to destroy a weak plant like that...

Asta, Suzaku" Yuno said with a smile as he appeared with 2 people behind him.

The first person was a tall, good-looking man with a slender build and slanted light fuchsia eyes - Klaus Lunettes.

The other person was a beautiful girl with a voluptuous build. She has yellow eyes and long wavy vermilion hair with bangs on her forehead - Mimosa Vermillion.
