10 Chapter 10: The Other Member

Some time had passed since the fight, with Suzaku and Asta being officially welcomed into the squad as they received their robes.
As the group celebrated the two new members, a silver-haired girl looked from above as she flicked her hair and walked away with a mutter
"Not bad... for an insect, that is"
Meanwhile, back outside the base, the group had cheered up Luck as he smiled, feeling a little better.
'I won't lose... never again!' He quietly vowed in his mind, still not awakening the realisation that in life, there's more than just winning.
As the group were cheering and celebrating, Captain Yami had walked up to them with a puff of smoke coming out of his mouth.
"Welcome to the squad, kids..." He congratulated before he focused his attention on Suzaku, "Meet me round back after Magna shows you two newbies around, got it?" He asked, but with his tone everyone knew that it was more of an order.
"Yes, captain!" Suzaku replied, to which Yami nodded silently before walking back into the building.
"Alright! It's time I personally show you around the black bulls' super-stylin' base of operations!!" Magna said excitedly as he pushed the two boys inside the building.

Magna was now giving both Asta and Suzaku a tour of the place as they looked around in awe of the size.
Magna had previously shown them the dining hall, the main bath, the off-limits girls room, and the wild animals' room.
Currently, Magna was leading the two towards their new rooms as they conversed about random things such as things they did back in their villages and stuff.
The three came to a halt once they saw a pretty, silver-haired girl who gave off a confident aura as she walked towards them.
The girl wore a black bulls robe as Magna pointed at her in surprise, "So this is where you were, huh!?" He then turned to Suzaku and Asta on his left, "You two, this here's your comrade. She's the other new member" He introduced, causing Suzaku to just stare at her in silence.
On the other hand, Asta's face showed excitement in hearing the word 'Comrade', as he took the time to approach the girl and introduce himself
"I'm Asta from Hage Village! Let's compete with each other and do our best!" He said as he put his hand out for a handshake.
The girl looked at his hand in disgust as a loud slap filled the hall.
"Don't address me so casually, peasant. Little insect with your paltry magic. I'm Noelle SILVA, a member of this country's ROYAL family" She emphasised the words Silva and Royal to highlight her high social status as he slapped Asta's hand away.
'Wow, almost forgot how much of a bitch she was in her introduction...' Suzaku thought as he looked at Noelle with scowl.
Noticing the expression, Noelle turned to Suzaku as she asked with a glare, "And what do you think YOU'RE looking at? Don't tell me you also think we're equals, like this peasant"
Fed up with her way of talking, Suzaku stood up for himself and Asta as he replied, "No need to worry, miss royalty~, I don't think we're equals" He said with a smile, much to Noelle's happiness.
"Hmph-" She puffed her chest out as she flicked her hair, "At least one of you understand the difference in you and I-" She was about to finish her rant before being cut off by Suzaku.
"After all, we can't be equals if I'm simply better" Suzaku kept the smile on his face, which grew even bigger as he noticed Noelle's face twist into a sour and angry expression.
"Y-YOU!" She then raised her hand as she focused her mana, "I'll show you the different between royalty and an insect such as yourself!" She shouted as a water ball formed in front of her.
*BOOSH!*
She had launched her spell and aimed it at Suzaku, who stood still with a confident smirk, much to Noelle's dissatisfaction. Unfortunately for her, the trajectory of her ball changed as it swerved to the left and hit both Magna and Asta for the double-kill.
"Tch..." Noelle kissed her teeth, ignoring the angry Magna who had veins on his head. Meanwhile, Asta just blinked his eyes in surprise.
"You...! You've got guts, that's for sure!" Magna's teeth scraped in held-back anger and he looked down at his wet clothes, resisting the urge to do unspoken things.
"Hmph, it's your fault you were standing there, who gave you permission to stand there?" Noelle said with a scornful look, maxing out Magna's anger stat.
"Why you little... I'M A SENIOR MEMBER HERE!" Magna raised his voice, ignoring her royalty comment Noelle silently added as he carried on shouting profusely, "I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE ROYALTY OR THE SILVER EAGLE'S CAPTAIN'S LITTLE SISTER. MISTER YAMI'S THE ONLY GUY WHO'D TAKE ON A SHREWD LIKE YOU"
Asta and Suzaku widened their eyes, surprised at Magna's outburst. "Pft-" Suzaku held back his laughter as he watched Noelle's face darken.
"I wouldn't be in this group if you paid me" Noelle announced as she took off the black bulls robe and threw it on the ground, making sure to step on it as she walked past them and went to where she needed to.

"Anyway... this's your guys' rooms, you can decided which one you guys want between yourselves... now that the tour's over, you guys are free until a mission arrives, so sit back and relax, and do whatever ya want!" Magna waved as he went downstairs to do his own things.
"I'll take this one!" Asta said, choosing the smaller room out of the two.
"..." Suzaku hesitated for a bit before replying with a smile, "Bet, don't need to tell me twice" He was gonna enter his room and chill on the bed for a bit until he remembered
"Oh, right! Yami wanted to see me! See you later, Asta!" Suzaku waved goodbye as he walked to the designated area.

"Took your time" Yami said with a yawn as he saw Suzaku walking up to him.
The two were currently outside, at the back of the Black Bull's base as only the two of them were here with no one in sight.
"My bad, I got a bit lost. You know, with the house changing and all" Suzaku replied, "So... why'd you call me out here?" He asked.
"I'll be straight up, kid...
Are you from the Hino Country?" Yami asked with a hidden saddened expression, thinking back to the time of when he was 13 years old.
This question got Suzaku to tilt his head slightly as he thought, 'Hino Country?... Did we get Yami's backstory in the manga?! FUCK! I knew I should've read it some more!' He internally complained at himself, forgetting to answer Yami's question.
"Well?" Yami impatiently asked, hating when somebody doesn't answer his question straight away.
"O-oh, right!" Snapping out of it thanks to Yami's voice, Suzaku hurriedly replied with "No... well... not that I know of, at least" He thought up a plan on the spot that he would follow.
"Whaddya mean?" Yami's interest was piqued as he raised his eyebrows in question, noticing how Suzaku phrased his response.
"Well... to be honest, I don't really know where I'm from..." Suzaku put his head down with a saddened expression, "About 6 months ago, I stumbled upon Asta in his home village.
I told him I was lost... and whilst that's true, I didn't tell him the full story-" Suddenly, Suzaku paused for a second as he remembered an important fact about Yami, but he carried on, "-The truth is... Before meeting Asta, I was living my life normally. But suddenly, I just randomly blacked out, and after that, I arrived in Hage Village and met Asta..."
There was silence as Yami took time to comprehend Suzaku's answer.
'My ki is telling me that it's mostly the truth, but there's about 1-5% of lies within his response...' Yami contemplated as he looked at the quiet Suzaku, until he eventually sighed.
"Alright, kid... I don't fully believe you, but I'll trust you" Yami's words shocked Suzaku slightly, "Asta told me that you use a katana, is that correct?" He asked.
"That's right" Suzaku replied, causing Yami to spot a small smile.
"And Asta also told me that you're in search of learning how to properly use your katana... is that also right?" Yami added, to which Suzaku nodded
"Well, coincidentally, the katana is the unique style of sword that us Hino Country residents use... do you get what I'm getting at, newbie?" Yami asked, causing Suzaku to raise his eyes in shock and excitement.
"You don't mean...?"
"Yup...
How about I teach you how to properly use the katana?"
