Meeting Bai Qing

As he wandered amidst the crowds, he slowly retracted his divine might and aura. Looking at him now, one would only see a breath-taking handsome 'mortal' carrying a child on his shoulders.

Walking slowly, he immersed himself in the scenery and monitored everywhere around him.

Usually, his core-sense would scout for this sort of information and it was not something that required him to wander aimlessly.

However, he had his own personal reasons for doing so presently.

Besides, since he had retracted his aura as a mortal, he could naturally go with the flow. It was not a crime to 'mortalize' one's own self as a cultivator anyways.

'' Excuse me please… I want to inquire where I am presently'' Xiao Yunhai beckoned politely to a youth.

The youth had a suspicious look on his face as he stared at the ever-smiling Xiao Yunhai.

Looking around with grave caution, the youth nodded expressionlessly.

"Young sir, you are in Moon Drifting Town" the teenager boldly said and looked at Xiao Yunhai who had a slightly confused expression.

Clearly, Xiao Yunhai was in his train of thoughts weighing how he came to this forsaken lands because of a deathly chase.

"It seems this sir has lost his way" the youth thought inwardly and hurriedly tried to clarify things.

"The Moon Drifting Town is in the Blue Heaven Province's Clear Water city. The Wu Shui Empire are the general overlords of this particular domain" the youth explained thoroughly.

Xiao Yunhai wore a smile as he thanked the youth with cupped fists humbly.

The youth just gave a nod and scurried away like nothing had happened. If he knew he had just spoken with a divinity just then, he'll probably be peeing on himself right away.

"Wu Shui Empire? Really far from home!" Xiao Yunhai muttered inwardly with cringed brows after the youth had departed.

He had a cold glare as his thoughts flashed back to the past month's hell. Dao Li had forced him into this strange and desolate region.

He would hence be placing his child's life and care in the hands of some lowly 'mortals'. The hatred he held for Dao Li and the Divine Immortal Sect was as boundless as sand.

Until, he dealt with the sect and Dao Li, he'd just keep this disgusting experience to himself. The day he returned would be the day that the terror of the Disaster Demon would begin in the Sheng Yun Realm once again.

He brushed his thoughts aside rapidly as his core-sense picked up a thirty-some youth with a similar temperament as himself.

This 'youth' was just at the Yang King stage which might seem a monstrous achievement to people of this region.

"Interesting!" Xiao Yunhai had a sly smile that made him seem bewitching.

Alongside his blood-red robes he seemed like a cute demon-king following his façade of being cold.

After following the youth for a few minutes, Xiao Yunhai suddenly wore a warmer smile as he sensed the unease of the 'youth' .

The youth was indeed smart and also a unique prodigy to have a strong sense of perception to perceive his trail but he was still hesitant to turn until he figured out Xiao Yunhai's motives.

Suddenly, with a forced smile on his face, the 'youth' turned to a stunned Xiao Yunhai and asked, "Senior, how may I help you? Do you have any problems needing my graced assistance?".

Xiao Yunhai snapped out of his stun and with a bitter smile, he replied with slightly twisted facial expression.

"It's fine. All is well and I have no troubles but may I be graced to know your name sir. I happened to have lost my way and came from my realm to this region by accident. If you don't mind hehe!" Xiao Yunhai said amicably.

He winked at the 'youth' after presenting a small but exquisite ring to the youth. With a slight hesitation, the youth casually swiped and received the ring from his hand gently.

After infusing spiritual sense into the ring, he almost tossed the ring himself in shock.

"This… You are way too generous senior!" the youth said with an amused facial expression.

He checked in again to be sure that he was not daydreaming in broad daylight. He then stared at this generous stranger before him while weighing the pros and cons silently in his heart for some time.

"I'm Bai Qing, the Patriarch from the Bai clan in this town, you can as well call me Junior Bai. We are tight faces here but your face is a little foreign. You seem to be from another town or somewhere away from here. This made it easier for me to sense your trail" Bai Qing said with a solemn expression.

He could perceive this seeming youth was at least at the Immortal Essence Stage or even higher.

However, there was no sense of danger within and he looked like a typical mortal carrying a young child.

His aura had even been retracted perfectly and he knew that Xiao Yunhai had only leaked some of his aura intentionally to test his reaction.

Xiao Yunhai immediately returned to his usual serious expression as he looked around giving a sign language to Bai Qing.

Bai Qing nodded as well after he understood the intentions of Xiao Yunhai.

Without a notice, the two scrammed quickly into a lonely forest.

The forest was in one of the usual danger zones of the Moon Drifting town- Demon Raiding Mountain. Their auras had long been dispersed making their existence seem completely illusory.

Demon Raiding Mountain had been a very popular place in not only Moon Drifting Town, but even the entire Clear Water City.

As the name implied, the entire vegetative region was flooded by demonic beasts all year. Usually, it should be a danger zone to those who dwelt here. 

However Xiao Yunhai and Bai Qing were both cultivators and hence they had no reasons to be scared as the mortals would.
