Crazy Classmates

The next day in school, Yoshi kept on staring at the empty bench in front of him with an unreadable expression on his face.

The reason for his action was simple.

Namina hasn't come to school today.

Yoshi had an idea why that was the case though. The previous day, Namina fell off the stairs of a shrine they both visited together after school, and ended up injuring her ankle in the process.

Yoshi thought it to be the reason for Namina's absence from school, but still felt a little disheartened for not seeing her in class.

He had been wondering about the question Namina asked him that day, and he didn't understand why he was having this weird feeling in his stomach whenever he thought of her.

He never felt this way while thinking about her before, but after seeing that bright smile on Namina's face the previous day, he couldn't help but blush a little while thinking about her.

'I will give her a visit after school is over. I might as well bring her favorite baumkuchen cake with me to brighten up her mood. Man, I am spoiling her aren't I.' Yoshi thought with a small smile on his face.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, he noticed something strange.

Their teacher was late.

Yoshi's teacher is a woman of average height with a strict appearance and demeanor. She has dark black hair and sea-green eyes and wears glasses to look professional.

She is very strict when it comes to her job, but is a kind teacher nonetheless. She would help her students whenever they had any problems, be it regarding their studies or their personal life. She would always give them the best advice that a teacher like her could give to her students.

Every student in her class cares about her and Yoshi is not an exception.

That's why Yoshi was worried after seeing that she was not present at school like Namina. But unlike Nami's case, Yoshi didn't know the reason behind his teacher's absence.

Yoshi's teacher had never been late before. She took her profession as a teacher very seriously and was always punctual no matter the case. So seeing that she was still not here yet, Yoshi got worried about his teacher's health.

He was not the only one worried about her though, as almost all the students looked a bit worried for their strict but very kind teacher. So much so that one of them decided to speak out loud

"Why is Sakai sensei taking so long to come to class today? She has never been this late before, hell, I don't think she has ever been late at all!" A twin-tailed, pink haired girl with red eyes, groaned in an annoyed tone of voice.

This girl is Nagano Haruka, with Haruka being her first name. She is one of the top students in Yoshi's school, just behind Namina in overall grades(Yup, Namina is good at studies despite being an idiot) and has a very harsh personality.

Despite her harsh exterior, she has a very fragile and caring side to her. All of her classmates had seen both of her sides, so they knew that despite her annoyed exterior, Haruka was the most worried among all of them for their teacher, as she was the one who had the best relationship with her, because of the similarity in their personalities.

After hearing Haruka speak, a chubby boy wearing glasses, said in a soft tone of voice

"I am sure she is fine Haruka-chan, you don't have to worry." The round boy said with a smile on his face.

This is Maeda Yasuyuki, commonly known as Yuki for short. He is a fat boy with black hair and eyes. He wears round glasses and has a nerd-like appearance.

Despite his appearance, he is the dumbest in their class which was saying a lot, as their class consisted of many dumb people.

Looking at Yuki's appearance and overall performance in class, anyone at first would think of him to be unpopular with the fairer sex.

Well, they couldn't be more wrong.

"Y-Y-You! H-How dare you use my first name like that you fatty! And what's with that c-chan in the end!?" Haruka said while pointing a shaking finger at the boy seated next to her with an embarrased look on her face.

Despite being called a fatty, Yuki being the kind and gentle boy he was, just smiled innocently at Haruka which made her blush.

"I hope you guys are done flirting, because that was very disturbing to watch." A girl with black hair and icy blue eyes, said in an apathetic tone of voice.

This girl is Honma Saori, often regarded as an Ice queen. She is a very beautiful girl but has a cold personality, which resulted in her not having any friends.

Despite her cold personality, her classmates still tried to approach her only to fail in befriending her. The only people she ever had a decent conversation in her class were Yoshi and Namina.

Namina because she was the only one who was unaffected by her harsh words and comments, and her bubbly personality was able to make even an isolated girl such as Saori open up to her a little.

Yoshi because, well, he didn't try to befriend her at all.

He was just there accompanying Namina on her quest to unite the class as she liked to put it, and didn't even try to join their conversation.

In simple words, Yoshi never gave a fuck about anything if it was not concerned with Namina.

Namina was the only one who was able to make Yoshi participate in class activities and despite being a lazy introvert, Yoshi never refused Namina's request.

It was like she was his kryptonite.

Anyways,

After hearing Saori's words, Haruka couldn't hold back the annoyed expression to take place on her face and looked at Saori with anger and said

"For your information Honma-san, We. Were. Not. Flirting! Nobody asked for your opinion anyway!" Haruka said while glaring at Saori with an annoyed expression on her face which made Saori smirk and she said in a sarcastic tone of voice

"Well, I am sorry for assuming that then. It must be my imagination that I saw your entire face go red and heard you stutter when speaking with Maeda-kun, indicating that you were embarrassed and not at all angry when he used your first name. Oh, about that blush on your face when he smiled at you? I think I must have imagined that too." Saori said with a not-so-innocent grin present on her usually calm and collected face.

Saori's behaviour towards Haruka had always been like this. Annoying Haruka was one of the best entertainment for Saori, as she liked to see this girl lose her cool whenever she put her on the spot like this.

She doesn't know what it was about Haruka, that she couldn't help but enjoy seeing her reactions so much.

In the end, she thought it must be her sadistic side showing.

"Y-YOU-" Haruka screeched with an embarrased look on her face but whatever she was going to say was cut off when Saori spoke again

"What do you think, Yoshihiro-kun?" Saori said while giving a side glance towards her bench-mate.

Yoshi after being interrupted from his thoughts, looked towards his side to notice his three classmates staring at him.

Yoshi was not the type to make friends. The only friend that he ever made in his life was Namina, and that was also because their mothers were friends with each other.

These classmates of his, whose names he somehow remembered, were talking to him because of their seating arrangements.

Yoshi was sitting at the second last bench towards the window, the so called protagonist seat.

Saori was sitting on the bench at Yoshi's right side and Haruka was seated on her front. On Haruka's right side was seated the cinnamon roll of the class Yuki, and Namina was seated on Haruka's left side, which was just in front of Yoshi.

Due to this sitting arrangement, many of their classmates considered the five of them to be friends, which was kind of absurd in Yoshi's mind.

First of all, they never talked that much and even if they did, it was only because Nami forced him to have a conversation with someone other than her.

Second of all, they were all very annoying in Yoshi's eyes.

First there was this girl named Haruka, who for no reason was always angry. She was always shouting at Yuki to lose some weight, but still fed him the unusually large bento which Yoshi was sure, she herself prepared. Yoshi never understood why she kept on lying about having too much with her though.

Second there was this guy named Yuki, who for no reason was always smiling. Yoshi was wondering how this guy could smile even after getting body-shamed by Haruka every single day.

'Must be a fetish.' Yoshi came to a conclusion.

And lastly there was this bitch, Honma Saori. Yoshi hated everything about this girl! The reason he had not yet socked her in the face was because Namina stopped him.

For some reason, Namina wanted to be friends with this girl. She also included Yoshi in her 'befriend the ice-queen' mission without his consent. When they tried to approach her and talk to her, this bitch constantly made rude remarks about them. Namina being the dumb creature she was, didn't understand that she was being made fun of but Yoshi did, and he was pissed. Which led to Yoshi confronting this girl without Namina's knowledge and giving her his piece of mind; which was him warning her not to make fun of Namina ever. Only HE had the right to do that.

In the end, he only got pissed over what she said about Namina, because after hearing her insulting his hyperactive bundle of energy, Yoshi was too angry to give any crap about the insults she was throwing at him.

Yoshi didn't know what changed her after that, but she started treating Namina better. She also started calling him by his first name, which was very surprising for many of his classmates and made them question about their relationship with each other.

Someone even had the balls to say that he was two timing Namina with her. Well, it didn't end well for the guy, as Yoshi, unfortunately for him, heard him say that.

Yoshi was very suspicious about this bitch's action, but didn't do anything as long as she doesn't do anything to hurt Namina.

As long as Namina was happy, he didn't care.

So when Yoshi heard the voice of this vixen sitting beside him, he couldn't help but glare at her and said in a dark tone of voice

"What do you want Honma?"

Yuki, after hearing the dark tone of voice Yoshi used while addressing Saori, gulped in fear. But his usual smile still didn't lose his face.

Haruka though, was not affected by Yoshi's tone as she looked at him and said in her usual annoyed tone of voice

"Just do what you were doing and ignore her like you usually do. I really don't want to see you two bickering with each other again! Like seriously, you two always act like children when Mina-chan is not around!" Haruka said a little loudly.

*Silence*

Everyone in the class stopped their own conversation to look at Haruna with incredulous expressions on their face.

'Is she serious?' Everyone in the class thought at the same time.

Haruka after being subjected to everyone's attention, blushed in embarrassment and made a weak attempt to glare at her classmates and said

"W-what's with you all s-staring at me like that? If you have any problem with me then say it to my face!" She said nervously before returning to her usual 'tsun-tsun' exterior.

""Nothing."" Everyone said in unison and returned to do whatever they were doing in the hopes of forgetting she ever said that.

"Well, you don't have to worry about it Nagano San. Yoshihiro and I are just messing with each other. You know how we are don't you? Yoshihiro just likes to argue with me. He doesn't mean anything he says." Saori said while giving Yoshi a charming smile.

"First of all, Ew. That was for your pathetic attempt to charm me with your smile. Second of all, I have meant every single word I said to you till now, so every insult and abuse I threw at you was from the bottom of my heart. And lastly, don't talk to me. Like, ever." Yoshi said with an apathetic expression on his face.

"You wound my fragile little heart Yoshihiro-kun. I don't know why you hate me so much." Saori said while giving Yoshi a sad smile which everyone among their group knew, was a fake one.

"Listen Honma. I don't know why you are acting like this, but mark my words. If you do anything to hurt Nami then I won't forgive you. She really thinks of you as a friend, I don't even know what she sees in you! But if you do anything which affects Nami in any way, then believe me. You are going to regret it." Yoshi said while giving Saori a glare that made Yuki gulp again.

Saori though, was not the least bit affected by what Yoshi said, and even smiled a genuine smile at the mention of Namina thinking of her as a friend.

"Look at you being so protective of her. You love her that much?" Saori asked with a teasing smile.

She was expecting Yoshi to give her the usual reaction of his reply being 'Yup, Now shut up and let me be.' with a deadpan face but what she saw was really unexpected.

Yoshi after hearing Saori's words, was blushing.

That word love triggered Yoshi's memory of Namina asking him if he loves her which made his face go red.

'What's wrong with me?!' Yoshi screamed inside his head while trying to cover up his blush by turning his head to stare out the window.

"Wait-! What's with that reaction?! Seriously? Do you like Mina-chan Yoshihiro?!" Haruka asked with a wide smile on her face.

Her ship was finally sailing!

"Can't say I am surprised. It was only a matter of time." Saori said with a forced smile on her face.

She was feeling a tight knot in her stomach after seeing Yoshi react this way. But she put it in the back of her mind.

"So you finally understand your feelings huh, Matsumura Kun? Nishio San was not so discreet about her feelings but you still didn't see it. Seriously, You are so dense." Yuki said with a happy smile on his face.

*Silence*

Once again, Everyone in the class stopped whatever they were doing to look at Yuki with incredulous expression on their faces.

'Is he serious?' Everyone thought at the same time.

Yuki, after being stared at by the whole class, tilted his head in confusion with his everlasting smile still present on his face.

His confusion was short-lived as a bone-chilling voice reached his ears.

"Fatty, Shut. Up." Haruka said while giving Yuki a death glare which made his spine tingle and he gulped out loud.

Seriously, his classmates are scary!

Everyone in the class after giving those two one last glance, returned to do whatever they were doing while thinking how perfect those two were for each other.

Their shenanigans were put on a hold when they heard their classroom's door being opened.

Yoshi didn't know at the time.....

That this day, was going to change his life forever.
